Direkt an der Meininger Prachtstraße, der Bernhardstraße, steht die Strupp´sche Villa. Die 1909 im neoklassizistischen Stil errichtete Villa diente ursprünglich als Wohn- und Firmensitz des bedeutenden Meininger Bankiers, Finanzberaters des Herzogs und Vizepräsidenten des Meininger Landtags Gustav Strupp.
Die Villa wurde nach den Plänen von Karl Behlert erbaut, der bereits Architekt für das Hauptgebäude des Strupp´schen Kreditinstituts, der Bank für Thüringen, war. Auch nach dem Tod von Gustav Strupp blieb das Gebäude in Familienbesitz. 1939 mussten die Erben unter Zwang das Gebäude an die Nationalsozialisten verkaufen. Im gleichen Jahr verließ die letzte Bewohnerin die Villa. Nach Ende des 2. Weltkrieges diente das Gebäude kurzzeitig als russische Stadtkommandantur. Während der DDR waren in der Strupp´schen Villa unter anderem eine beliebte Diskothek untergebracht.
1995 wurde die Villa an die Erbengemeinschaft Strupp zurückübertragen. Von 2018 bis 2022 wurde das Gebäude umfassend saniert und beherbergt heute neben dem Max-Reger-Konservatorium den B.M. Strupp Lern- und Gedenkort – Jüdische Geschichte und Antisemitismus.

La villa Strupp se trouve directement sur la Bernhardstraße, la rue principale de Meiningen. Construite en 1909 dans un style néoclassique, elle servait à l'origine de résidence et de siège social à Gustav Strupp, important banquier de Meiningen, conseiller financier du duc et vice-président du Landtag de Meiningen.
La villa a été construite selon les plans de Karl Behlert, qui était déjà l'architecte du bâtiment principal de l'établissement de crédit de Strupp, la Bank für Thüringen. Même après la mort de Gustav Strupp, le bâtiment est resté la propriété de la famille. En 1939, les héritiers ont été contraints de vendre le bâtiment aux nazis. La même année, la dernière occupante a quitté la villa. Après la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, le bâtiment a brièvement servi de commandement municipal russe. Pendant la RDA, la villa Strupp abritait entre autres une discothèque très populaire.
En 1995, la villa a été restituée à la communauté des héritiers Strupp. De 2018 à 2022, le bâtiment a été entièrement rénové et abrite aujourd'hui, outre le Conservatoire Max Reger, le lieu d'apprentissage et de mémoire B.M. Strupp – Histoire juive et antisémitisme.

The Strupp Villa is located directly on Meiningen's boulevard, Bernhardstraße. Built in 1909 in neoclassical style, the villa originally served as the residence and company headquarters of Gustav Strupp, the prominent Meiningen banker, financial advisor to the Duke, and vice president of the Meiningen state parliament.
The villa was built according to the plans of Karl Behlert, who had already been the architect for the main building of the Strupp credit institution, the Bank für Thüringen. Even after Gustav Strupp's death, the building remained in the family's possession. In 1939, the heirs were forced to sell the building to the National Socialists. In the same year, the last resident left the villa. After the end of World War II, the building briefly served as the Russian city command headquarters. During the GDR era, the Strupp villa housed a popular discotheque, among other things.
In 1995, the villa was transferred back to the Strupp community of heirs. From 2018 to 2022, the building underwent extensive renovation and now houses the Max Reger Conservatory and the B.M. Strupp Learning and Memorial Site – Jewish History and Anti-Semitism.
