Auf der Flur „Vor dem kleinen Lindenberg“ wurde 1989 im Zuge von Straßenbauarbeiten ein zuvor vollständig eingeebnetes Hügelgräberfeld entdeckt und anschließend von der Archäologischen Arbeitsgruppe freigelegt. Insgesamt konnten 16 Hügelgräber untersucht werden. Die gut erhaltenen Steinkränze und Steinpackungen ermöglichten eine anschauliche Rekonstruktion des Gräberfeldes als archäologisches Freilichtdenkmal. Hügel Nr. 10 wurde in einem Halbschnitt wieder aufgebaut und veranschaulicht den typischen Aufbau mit Grabkammer, Steinpackung, Steinkranz und Erdhügel. Fundstücke aus diesem und weiteren prähistorischen Gräbern der Umgebung sind im Rhön-Museum in Fladungen ausgestellt. Eine vor Ort aufgestellte, reich bebilderte Schautafel informiert über die archäologischen Funde sowie über weitere Hügelgräberfelder in der Region. Das Gräberfeld ist gut von Ostheim aus erreichbar. Der Zugang erfolgt über durchgängig befestigte Wege und eignet sich sowohl für Fahrräder als auch für Fahrzeuge.
Dans le hameau de « Vor dem kleinen Lindenberg », un champ de tumulus, qui avait été entièrement nivelé auparavant, a été découvert en 1989 lors de travaux routiers, puis mis au jour par le groupe de travail archéologique. Au total, 16 tumulus ont pu être étudiés. Les couronnes de pierres et les remblais de pierres, bien conservés, ont permis une reconstitution fidèle du cimetière sous la forme d’un site archéologique en plein air. Le tumulus n° 10 a été reconstitué en coupe et illustre la structure typique comprenant une chambre funéraire, un remblai de pierres, une couronne de pierres et un monticule de terre. Les objets découverts dans ce tumulus et dans d’autres tombes préhistoriques des environs sont exposés au musée de la Rhön à Fladungen. Un panneau d’information richement illustré, installé sur place, fournit des renseignements sur les découvertes archéologiques ainsi que sur d’autres nécropoles de tumulus de la région. La nécropole est facilement accessible depuis Ostheim. L'accès s'effectue par des chemins entièrement stabilisés et convient aussi bien aux vélos qu'aux véhicules.
In 1989, during road construction work on the “Vor dem kleinen Lindenberg” field, a burial mound field that had previously been completely leveled was discovered and subsequently excavated by the Archaeological Working Group. A total of 16 burial mounds were examined. The well-preserved stone circles and stone fillings made it possible to vividly reconstruct the burial ground as an open-air archaeological monument. Mound No. 10 was reconstructed as a half-section and illustrates the typical structure, consisting of a burial chamber, stone filling, stone circle, and earthen mound. Artifacts from this and other prehistoric graves in the surrounding area are on display at the Rhön Museum in Fladungen. A richly illustrated display panel on site provides information about the archaeological finds as well as other burial mounds in the region. The burial ground is easily accessible from Ostheim. Access is via paved roads throughout and is suitable for both bicycles and vehicles.
Na polu „Vor dem kleinen Lindenberg” w 1989 roku, w trakcie prac drogowych, odkryto wcześniej całkowicie wyrównane pole kurhanów, które następnie zostało odkopane przez Grupę Roboczą ds. Archeologii. W sumie zbadano 16 kurhanów. Dobrze zachowane kamienne obwódki i wypełnienia kamienne umożliwiły obrazową rekonstrukcję cmentarzyska jako archeologicznego pomnika na świeżym powietrzu. Kurhan nr 10 został odtworzony w formie półprzekroju i ilustruje typową budowę z komorą grobową, wypełnieniem kamiennym, kamienną obwódką oraz kopcem ziemnym. Znaleziska z tego oraz innych prehistorycznych grobowców w okolicy są eksponowane w Muzeum Rhön w Fladungen. Umieszczona na miejscu, bogato ilustrowana tablica informacyjna zawiera informacje na temat znalezisk archeologicznych, a także innych cmentarzysk kurhanowych w regionie. Do cmentarzyska można łatwo dotrzeć z Ostheim. Dojazd prowadzi po utwardzonych drogach i jest odpowiedni zarówno dla rowerów, jak i dla pojazdów.
