Der Himmelsschauplatz der Gemeinde Motten liegt zwischen Motten und Kothen, entlang der Wandertour „Der Mottener“, direkt auf der Wasserscheide. Durch die geringe Besiedlung in der Umgebung bietet der Himmelsschauplatz einen einzigartigen Blick auf den Nachthimmel. Er ist mit einer drehbaren Sternenkarte, einer Wellenliege und einem Polarsternfinder ausgestattet. Der Polarsternfinder ermöglicht es, den Polarstern schnell und einfach zu finden, während die Sternenkarte eine hervorragende Orientierung am Himmel bietet und dabei hilft, verschiedene Sternbilder zu identifizieren. Auf der bequemen Wellenliege kann man sich entspannt zurücklehnen und den Sternenhimmel in vollen Zügen erleben. Am Fuße der Mottener Haube ist die Wasserscheide Rhein / Wesere gelegen, wo Parkmöglichkeiten zu finden sind. Von dort aus ist der Himmelsschauplatz bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Der Wanderweg „Der Mottener“ führt nicht nur zum Himmelsschauplatz, sondern bietet auch zahlreiche Attraktionen wie einen Aussichtsturm und eine beeindruckende XXL-Bank, die zum Verweilen einladen.

Grâce à la faible densité de population dans les environs, ce site d'observation offre une vue unique sur le ciel nocturne. The Motten Observatory is located between Motten and Kothen, along the “Der Mottener” hiking trail, right on the watershed. Due to the sparse population in the surrounding area, the observatory offers a unique view of the night sky. It is equipped with a rotating star chart, a wave-shaped lounger, and a Polaris finder. The Polaris finder makes it quick and easy to locate the North Star, while the star chart provides excellent orientation in the sky and helps identify various constellations. On the comfortable wave-shaped lounger, you can lean back and relax while fully experiencing the starry sky. The Rhine/Weser watershed is located at the foot of the Mottener Haube, where parking is available. From there, the stargazing spot is easily accessible on foot. The “Der Mottener” hiking trail not only leads to the stargazing spot but also offers numerous attractions, such as an observation tower and an impressive XXL bench, which invite you to linger.
