Les Basketball Löwen ont été fondés à l'été 2018 dans la capitale du Land, Erfurt, et portent l'animal héraldique de Thuringe dans leur nom par attachement à la région. La jeune association développe le sport de haut niveau, encourage le sport de la relève dans la région et s'engage en tant qu'acteur social pour l'égalité des chances des enfants et des jeunes ainsi que pour le renforcement de la cohésion sociale. Le basket-ball, sport à caractère international, est particulièrement synonyme de fair-play, d'ouverture au monde, de tolérance et d'inclusion. Les Basketball Löwen incarnent ces valeurs et misent sur une idée sportive innovante et sociale. Avec des projets gratuits et à bas seuil comme SPORT VERNETZT et BasKIDball dans des quartiers difficiles, les WAID Basketball Löwen en tant qu'équipe Special Olympics et des groupes d'entraînement inclusifs, l'association à but non lucratif invite toutes les personnes intéressées à participer. Dans le domaine de la relève sportive, les Basketball Löwen coopèrent avec des clubs partenaires régionaux et travaillent en étroite collaboration avec le BC Erfurt, l'USV Erfurt et BiG Gotha. Cette approche offre de nombreuses possibilités aux filles et aux garçons ayant des intérêts sportifs différents : du sport de loisir décontracté aux équipes de club ambitieuses et aux ambitions sportives de haut niveau. Le développement de ses propres talents dans l'équipe professionnelle masculine des CATL Basketball Löwen (2ème ligue allemande de basket-ball ProB) et dans l'équipe féminine des Basketball Löwinnen (ligue régionale du sud-est) est un objectif central du club. Les équipes de haut niveau créent à leur tour des modèles proches pour les enfants et les jeunes. Les matchs à domicile de l'équipe professionnelle ont lieu dans la Riethsporthalle d'Erfurt devant environ 1.000 supporters. L'atmosphère y est très positive et favorable aux familles. D'ici la saison 2031/2032, le club veut monter en première division - avec les hommes et avec les femmes ! Pour ce faire, la promotion de la relève est un facteur de réussite décisif. Les filles et les garçons motivés par la performance doivent pouvoir poursuivre leurs propres rêves sportifs de la Bundesliga. L'assise économique est assurée par un large cercle de sponsors et de soutiens de la région ainsi que par la collaboration avec certains partenaires nationaux et internationaux. Les soirées Alley-Oop régulières créent de bonnes possibilités d'échanges personnels au sein du cercle d'entrepreneurs et donnent un aperçu passionnant du sport professionnel. Afin d'améliorer les conditions structurelles, le club investit dans une salle d'entraînement moderne - le LÖWENPARK ! Soutenu par la capitale du Land d'Erfurt et avec des fonds provenant du programme fédéral de rénovation des installations communales dans les domaines du sport, de la jeunesse et de la culture, un ancien gymnase situé dans le parc sud d'Erfurt fait l'objet d'une rénovation complète, tant au niveau de la construction que de l'énergie. Le LÖWENPARK, dont l'ouverture est prévue à l'automne 2026, sera un lieu vivant pour les jeunes sportifs et les projets sportifs sociaux. En outre, la salle de sport offrira des possibilités d'entraînement modernes pour le basket-ball de haut niveau. Les Basketball Löwen sont liés par une amitié de longue date avec les Thuringia Bulls, l'équipe de basket-ball en fauteuil roulant d'Elxleben qui connaît un grand succès. The Basketball Lions were founded in the state capital of Erfurt in the summer of 2018 and bear the Thuringian heraldic animal in their name out of regional solidarity. The young club develops top-class sport, promotes young talent in the region and, as a social player, is committed to equal opportunities for children and young people and to strengthening social cohesion. Basketball is an international sport that stands for fair play, openness to the world, tolerance and inclusion. The Basketball Lions exemplify these values and focus on an innovative, social sports concept. With free, low-threshold projects such as SPORT VERNETZT and BasKIDball in challenging districts, the WAID Basketball Lions as a Special Olympics team and inclusive training groups, the non-profit association invites all interested people to join in. In youth sports, the Basketball Lions cooperate with regional partner clubs and work particularly closely with BC Erfurt, USV Erfurt and BiG Gotha. This approach opens up a wide range of opportunities for girls and boys with different sporting interests: from casual recreational sport to ambitious club teams and competitive sporting ambitions. The development of home-grown talent into the men's professional team of the CATL Basketball Löwen (2nd Basketball Bundesliga ProB) and the women's team of the Basketball Löwinnen (Regionalliga Südost) is a central objective of the club. The top-class teams in turn create close role models for children and young people. The professional team's home games take place in front of around 1,000 fans in Erfurt's Riethsporthalle. The atmosphere is very positive and family-friendly. By the 2031/2032 season, the club wants to be promoted to the first division - with both the men and the women! In order to improve the structural conditions, the club is investing in a modern training hall - the LÖWENPARK! Supported by the state capital of Erfurt and with funds from the federal program for the renovation of municipal facilities in the areas of sport, youth and culture, an old gymnasium in Erfurt's Südpark is undergoing extensive structural and energy-efficient renovation. LÖWENPARK is expected to open in the fall of 2026 and will become a lively venue for youth sports and social sports projects. The sports hall will also provide modern training facilities for top-level basketball. The Basketball Lions have a long-standing friendship with the Thuringia Bulls, the successful wheelchair basketball team from Elxleben. With numerous national and European titles, the Thuringia Bulls stand for top sporting performance. The club is an important ambassador for Paralympic sport and has been providing valuable perspectives to children and young people for many years with its own school tour.
Die Basketball Löwen wurden im Sommer 2018 in der Landeshauptstadt Erfurt gegründet und tragen aus regionaler Verbundenheit das Thüringer Wappentier im Namen. Der junge Verein entwickelt Spitzensport, fördert Nachwuchssport in der Region und setzt sich als Sozialakteur für die Chancengerechtigkeit von Kindern und Jugendlichen sowie für die Stärkung des gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalts ein. Die international geprägte Sportart Basketball steht in besonderem Maß für Fair Play, Weltoffenheit, Toleranz und Inklusion. Diese Werte leben die Basketball Löwen vor und setzen auf eine innovative, soziale Sportidee. Mit kostenlosen, niedrigschwelligen Projekten wie SPORT VERNETZT und BasKIDball in herausfordernden Stadtteilen, den WAID Basketball Löwen als Special Olympics Team und inklusiven Trainingsgruppen lädt der gemeinnützige Verein alle interessierten Menschen zum Mitmachen ein. Im Nachwuchssport kooperieren die Basketball Löwen mit regionalen Partnervereinen und arbeiten besonders eng mit dem BC Erfurt, dem USV Erfurt und BiG Gotha zusammen. Die Entwicklung von Eigengewächsen in die Herren-Profimannschaft der CATL Basketball Löwen (2. Basketball Bundesliga ProB) und die Damenmannschaft der Basketball Löwinnen (Regionalliga Südost) ist eine zentrale Zielsetzung des Vereins. Die hochklassigen Teams schaffen wiederum nahbare Vorbilder für Kinder und Jugendliche. Die Heimspiele der Profimannschaft finden vor ca. 1.000 Fans in der Erfurter Riethsporthalle statt. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr positiv und familienfreundlich. Bis zur Saison 2031/2032 will der Verein in die 1. Liga aufsteigen – mit den Männern und mit den Frauen! Ein entscheidender Erfolgsfaktor ist dafür die eigene Nachwuchsförderung. Leistungsmotivierte Mädchen und Jungen sollen die eigenen sportlichen Träume von der Bundesliga verfolgen können. Für das wirtschaftliche Fundament sorgt ein breiter Sponsoren- und Unterstützerkreis aus der Region sowie die Zusammenarbeit mit einzelnen nationalen sowie internationalen Partnern. Die regelmäßigen Alley-Oop-Abendveranstaltungen schaffen gute Möglichkeiten für den persönlichen Austausch im Unternehmerkreis und vermitteln spannende Einblicke in den Profisport. Um die strukturellen Voraussetzungen zu verbessern, investiert der Verein in eine moderne Trainingshalle – den LÖWENPARK! Unterstützt von der Landeshauptstadt Erfurt und mit Mitteln aus dem Bundesprogramm zur Sanierung kommunaler Einrichtungen in den Bereichen Sport, Jugend und Kultur wird eine alte Turnhalle am Erfurter Südpark umfassend baulich wie energetisch saniert. Der LÖWENPARK wird voraussichtlich im Herbst 2026 eröffnet und wird ein lebendiger Ort für Nachwuchssport und soziale Sportprojekte. Zudem wird die Sporthalle für moderne Trainingsmöglichkeiten für den Basketball-Spitzensport sorgen. Die Basketball Löwen verbindet eine langjährige Freundschaft mit den Thuringia Bulls, dem erfolgreichen Rollstuhlbasketball-Team aus Elxleben. Mit zahlreichen nationalen wie europäischen Titeln stehen die Thuringia Bulls für sportliche Spitzenleistungen. Der Verein ist ein wichtiger Botschafter für paralympischen Sport und vermittelt mit seiner eigenen Schultour seit vielen Jahren wertvolle Perspektiven an Kinder und Jugendliche.
