About: Issersheilingen

Issersheilingen ist mit seinen 140 Einwohnern das kleinste der noch bestehenden vier Heilingen-Dörfer im Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis. Vor Jahrhunderten gab es insgesamt acht Dörfer, die mit -heilingen endeten. Issersheilingen ist eine sehr alte Siedlung. Funde in der Umgebung beweisen, dass hier schon lange vor Christus Menschen lebten. Issersheilingen erscheint als Ortsname im Jahr 1279. Im Jahr 1311 wird daraus Yssersheilingen, bis wir schließlich 1816 Issersheilingen lesen. Der Ort ist mit 294 m über NN das höchstgelegene Dorf auf dem Heilinger Höhenzug. Am Dorfrand in Richtung Neunheilingen fällt linker Hand eine Bodenerhebung auf, der "Hök", ein Hügelgrab. Bereits 1866 führte der Dorfpfarrer hier Ausgrabungen durch. Als Beitrag zur Altertumskunde deklarierte er die Dokumentation seiner Arbeit unter dem Titel "Das Heidengrab von Issersheilingen". Der "Hök" ist als Bodendenkmal durch eine Informationstafel gekennzeichnet und befindet sich im Siegel der Gemeinde Ein Schmuckstück in der Gemeinde ist das Backhaus. Es wurde 1881 von der Gemeinde mit einem zimmergroßen Steinbackofen erbaut. Vor und nach der Wende stand es leer und sollte bereits abgerissen werden. Die Gemeinde bemühte sich jedoch, es zu erhalten und zu renovieren. Im Jahr 2008 wurde das renovierte Backhaus mit dem ersten Backhausfest eingeweiht.

Issersheilingen with its 140 inhabitants is the smallest of the still existing four Heilingen villages in the Unstrut-Hainich district. The "Hök" is marked as a ground monument by an information board and is in the seal of the municipality. A jewel in the community is the bakehouse. It was built in 1881 by the community with a room-sized stone baking oven. Before and after the fall of communism it stood empty and was already to be demolished. However, the community tried to preserve and renovate it. In 2008, the renovated bakehouse was inaugurated with the first bakehouse festival.
