L'église de l'Annonciation, située dans un cadre idyllique, est depuis des siècles une destination pour les personnes qui souhaitent se recueillir et renouveler leur foi ici, ou qui cherchent du réconfort et de la confiance, de la force et un nouvel espoir. Chaque année, de nombreux pèlerinages ont lieu à "Maria in der Wiese". Pour clôturer l'année de pèlerinage, une prière du rosaire avec procession aux lumières est célébrée fin octobre. Entre-temps, de nombreux autres pèlerinages ont lieu. Pour l'histoire : En 1886, une violente inondation a détruit l'église de campagne construite en 1710 et une chapelle dédiée à la Vierge. En 1887, la première pierre de l'actuelle église de pèlerinage fut posée. En 1889, l'évêque Wilhelm de Hildesheim a procédé à la consécration solennelle. L'édifice, construit en grès, est une église romane avec une nef en croix, une abside en demi-cercle et une tour devant le front de la nef centrale. La nef est soutenue par deux rangées de quatre colonnes. L'aménagement intérieur d'origine était de style néogothique. En 1966, l'intérieur de l'église de pèlerinage a été entièrement réaménagé. Depuis 2005, des travaux de restauration ont eu lieu à plusieurs reprises dans l'église de pèlerinage. En 2019, la mise à jour des peintures historiques a pu être achevée. L'ornementation de l'église offre une grande diversité et a été réalisée par le peintre d'église Krumpiepen de Duderstadt. L'orgue Krell a également pu être rénové grâce à de nombreux petits dons. La restauration de l'entrée de l'église et de la porte battante historique est terminée.

The ornamentation in the church offers a great variety and was created by the Duderstadt church painter Krumpiepen. The Krell organ could also be restored with the help of many small donations. The restoration of the entrance area of the church and the historic swing door has been completed.
Die idyllisch gelegene Kirche „Mariä Verkündigung“ ist seit Jahrhunderten ein Ziel für Menschen, die sich besinnen und hier ihren Glauben erneuern wollen, oder die Trost und Zuversicht, Kraft und neue Hoffnung suchen. Jedes Jahr finden zahlreiche Wallfahrten zu "Maria in der Wiese" statt. Zum Abschluss des Wallfahrtsjahres wird Ende Oktober eine Rosenkranzandacht mit Lichterprozession gefeiert. Dazwischen finde noch viele weitere Wallfahrten statt. Zur Geschichte: Durch eine gewaltige Überschwemmung wurde 1886 die 1710 errichtete Feldkirche und eine Marienkapelle vernichtet. 1887 wurde der Grundstein für die jetzige Wallfahrtskirche gelegt. 1889 vollzog Bischof Wilhelm von Hildesheim die feierliche Konsekration. Der aus Sandstein errichtete Bau ist eine romanische Kirche mit Kreuzschiff, halbkreisförmiger Apsis und Turm vor der Front des Mittelschiffes. Als Stützen stehen im Langhaus zwei Reihen mit je vier Säulen. Die ursprüngliche Innenausstattung war im neugotischen Stil ausgeführt. 1966 wurde der Innenraum der Wallfahrtskirche völlig neu gestaltet. Seit 2005 fanden immer wieder Restaurierungsarbeiten in der Wallfahrtskirche statt. 2019 konnte die Freilegung der historischen Malereien abgeschlossen werden. Die Ornamentik in der Kirche bietet eine große Vielfalt und wurde von dem Duderstädter Kirchenmaler Krumpiepen erstellt. Auch die Krell-Orgel konnte mit Hilfe von vielen kleinen Spenden saniert werden. Die Restaurierung des Eingangsbereiches der Kirche und der historischen Pendeltür ist abgeschlossen.
