About: Obermehler

Die Gemeinde Obermehler liegt anmutig am Fuße der prächtigen Buchenwaldung der Volkenrodaer Höhenzüge, umgeben von zahlreichen Obstgärten, aus denen die roten Ziegeldächer und der rote Kirchturm kaum herausschauen. Zur Gemeinde gehören drei Dörfer. Dies sind Obermehler, Großmehlra und Pöthen. Die ältesten bekannten Ansiedler waren Kelten. Die erste urkundliche Erwähnung geschieht 997, da Kaiser Otto III. dem Mainzer Victorstift das Dorf Mehlre schenkt. Das Heimat- und Technikmuseum in der Gemeinde hat auf Grund des riesigen Fundus an Ausstellungstücken überregional an Bedeutung gewonnen. Die Mitglieder des Heimatvereins Mehle e.V. und des Vereins für Stationärmotoren, Traktoren und historischen Landmaschinen Großmehlra haben es sich zum Ziel gemacht, die Geschichte des Dorfes sowie den damaligen Alltag für die Nachwelt zu erhalten und bei Führungen und Workshops die Vergangenheit nachvollziehbar darzustellen. Inzwischen besitzt der als Verkehrslandeplatz Flugplatz Obermehler-Schlotheim ausgebaute ehemalige Militärflugplatz Schlotheim große wirtschaftliche Bedeutung für den auf Landwirtschaft ausgerichteten Ort. Dort sind Rundflüge buchbar und es finden auf dem Gelände verschiedene Veranstaltungen statt. Sehenswert in der Nahbargemeinde ist das Kloster Volkenroda. Auf den Resten einer ehemaligen Reichsburg von Zisterzienserorden erbaut und im 12. Jahrhundert geweiht, gilt das Kloster nach Neubelebung der Anlage im Jahr 1990 als Kleinod im Herzen von Deutschland. Aber nicht nur Altes ist hier zu bewundern: durch den 2001 hierher umgesetzten Christus-Pavillon ist ein faszinierendes Ensemble von Alt und Neu entstanden. Der Christus-Pavillon als einer der meistbesuchten Pavillons der Weltausstellung "Expo 2000" in Hannover fügt sich in die Klosteranlage hervorragend ein.

La commune d' Obermehler s'étend gracieusement au pied de la magnifique forêt de hêtres des crêtes de la Volkenroda, entourée de nombreux vergers, d'où se détachent à peine les toits de tuiles rouges et le clocher rouge de l'église. Trois villages appartiennent à la communauté. Ce sont Obermehler, Großmehlra et Pöthen. Les plus anciens colons connus étaient des Celtes. La première mention documentaire date de 997, lorsque l'empereur Otto III a fait don du village de Mehlre au Victorstift de Mayence. Le musée de l'histoire locale et de la technologie du village a acquis une importance suprarégionale grâce à son immense collection d'objets exposés. Les membres du Heimatverein Mehle e.V. et du Verein für Stationärmotoren, Traktoren und historische Landmaschinen Großmehlra (Association pour les moteurs stationnaires, les tracteurs et les machines agricoles historiques de Großmehlra) se sont donné pour objectif de préserver l'histoire du village ainsi que la vie quotidienne de l'époque pour la postérité et de présenter le passé de manière compréhensible lors de visites guidées et d'ateliers. Entre-temps, l'ancien aérodrome militaire de Schlotheim, qui a été aménagé en aérodrome commercial Obermehler-Schlotheim, revêt une grande importance économique pour le village, qui est orienté vers l'agriculture. On peut y réserver des vols aller-retour et divers événements ont lieu sur le site. Le monastère de Volkenroda mérite d'être vu dans la communauté voisine. Construit sur les vestiges d'un ancien château impérial par l'ordre cistercien et consacré au 12e siècle, le monastère est considéré comme un joyau au cœur de l'Allemagne après la revitalisation du site en 1990. Mais il n'y a pas que des choses anciennes que l'on peut admirer ici : le Christus-Pavillon, qui a été déplacé ici en 2001, a créé un ensemble fascinant d'ancien et de nouveau. Le pavillon Christus, l'un des pavillons les plus visités de l'exposition universelle "Expo 2000" de Hanovre, s'intègre parfaitement dans le complexe du monastère.

The municipality of Obermehler lies gracefully at the foot of the magnificent beech forest of the Volkenroda ridges, surrounded by numerous orchards, from which the red tiled roofs and the red church tower barely peek out. Three villages belong to the community. These are Obermehler, Großmehlra and Pöthen. The oldest known settlers were Celts. In the meantime, the former military airfield Schlotheim, which has been developed as a commercial airfield Obermehler-Schlotheim, has great economic importance for the village, which is oriented towards agriculture. Round flights can be booked there and various events take place on the site. Worth seeing in the near-by community is the Volkenroda Monastery. Built on the remains of a former imperial castle by Cistercian order and consecrated in the 12th century, the monastery is considered a jewel in the heart of Germany after revitalization of the site in 1990. But not only old things can be admired here: the Christus-Pavillon, which was moved here in 2001, has created a fascinating ensemble of old and new. As one of the most visited pavilions of the world exhibition "Expo 2000" in Hanover, the Christus-Pavillon fits perfectly into the monastery complex.
