Non loin de Bad Colberg se trouve le mémorial de Billmuthausen. Not far from Bad Colberg lies the Billmuthausen memorial site. This former village was razed to the ground during the GDR regime because it was located in the 500-meter restricted area along the inner-German border. In the 1970s, the residents were forcibly resettled and the village was completely demolished. Only the cemetery remained intact. Today, the site is a memorial that includes a memorial chapel. It is a popular destination for hikers and visitors, who gain an impressive insight into the constraints and fates of German division here.
Unweit von Bad Colberg liegt die Gedenkstätte Billmuthausen. Dieses einstige Dorf wurde während des DDR-Regimes dem Erdboden gleichgemacht, da es im 500-Meter-Sperrgebiet an der innerdeutschen Grenze lag. In den 1970er-Jahren wurden die Bewohner zwangsumgesiedelt und die Ortschaft vollständig abgerissen. Lediglich der Friedhof blieb erhalten. Heute ist der Ort eine Gedenkstätte, die eine Gedächtniskapelle umfasst.
