Das Parkareal Geraaue wurde in den Jahren 2020/21 komplett neugestaltet und zu einem attraktiven Naherholungsgebiet im Erfurter Norden. In diesem Zuge wurde hinter der Erhöhung zur Straße der Nationen der Auenteich angelegt. Das großzügige Gewässer bietet einen Platz der Ruhe inmitten der Wohngebiete und Hauptverkehrsstraßen des Nordens der Landeshauptstadt. Hier können Anwohner:innen und Gäste im Café am See oder auf den zahlreichen Sitzgelegenheiten entspannen, um den See und die umliegenden Parkanlagen spazieren oder mit ihren Kindern auf den nahgelegenen Spielpätzen verweilen. Im Teich selbst ist das Planschen nicht erlaubt, das Wassertretbecken direkt daneben jedoch lädt mit wunderbar frischem Bachwasser zum Abkühlen ein.
