Die Kohlenbergkapelle in Fuchsstadt, 1935 vom Münchner Architekten Georg W. Buchner erbaut, geht auf eine anonyme Stifterin und die Initiative von Pfarrer Josef Wiesen zurück. Auf der Kiefernanhöhe des Kohlenberges gelegen, bietet sie einen weiten Blick ins Saaletal bis nach Hammelburg, zum Kloster Altstadt und Schloss Saaleck sowie dem Sodenberg. Errichtet von ortsansässigen Maurern unter Leitung von Johann Volpert, wurde sie am 26. Mai 1935 von Bischof Matthias Ehrenfried geweiht. Die einstige Stahlglocke der Pfarrkirche, als „Kobarchsglöckle“ bekannt, fand hier ihre neue Heimat. 2018 erhielt die Kapelle eine neue Friedensglocke, vor Ort gegossen und vollständig durch Spenden finanziert. Mit der Inschrift „PACEM IN TERRIS“ (deutsch: Friede auf Erden) mahnt sie seitdem zum Frieden – ein neuer Klang, der die Geschichte des Ortes weiterträgt.
La chapelle du Kohlenberg à Fuchsstadt, construite en 1935 par l'architecte munichois Georg W. Buchner, doit son existence à une donatrice anonyme et à l'initiative du curé Josef Wiesen. Située sur la colline de pins du Kohlenberg, elle offre une vue dégagée sur la vallée de la Saale jusqu'à Hammelburg, sur le monastère d'Altstadt et le château de Saaleck ainsi que sur le Sodenberg. Construite par des maçons locaux sous la direction de Johann Volpert, elle a été consacrée le 26 mai 1935 par l'évêque Matthias Ehrenfried. L'ancienne cloche en acier de l'église paroissiale, connue sous le nom de « Kobarchsglöckle », y a trouvé son nouveau foyer. En 2018, la chapelle a reçu une nouvelle cloche de la paix, coulée sur place et entièrement financée par des dons. Avec l'inscription « PACEM IN TERRIS » (français : Paix sur la Terre), elle rappelle depuis lors l'importance de la paix – un nouveau son qui perpétue l'histoire du lieu.
The Kohlenberg Chapel in Fuchsstadt, built in 1935 by the Munich architect Georg W. Buchner, owes its existence to an anonymous benefactor and the initiative of Pastor Josef Wiesen. Situated on the pine-covered hill of the Kohlenberg, it offers a wide view over the Saale Valley to Hammelburg, the Altstadt Monastery, Saaleck Castle, and the Sodenberg. Built by local masons under the direction of Johann Volpert, it was consecrated on May 26, 1935, by Bishop Matthias Ehrenfried. The former steel bell of the parish church, known as the 'Kobarchsglöckle,' found its new home here. In 2018, the chapel received a new Peace Bell, cast on site and entirely funded by donations. With the inscription 'PACEM IN TERRIS' (Latin for 'Peace on Earth'), it has since called for peace—a new sound that continues the history of the place.
