2025 jährt sich die Wiedervereinigung Deutschlands zum 35. Mal. Aus diesem Anlass zeigt das Grenzlandmuseum die Ausstellung „Der Weg zur deutschen Einheit“ der Bundesstiftung zur Aufarbeitung der SED-Diktatur und des Auswärtigen Amts. Über 150 Fotos, Faksimiles und Zeitzeugenvideos beschreiben, wie die Friedliche Revolution in der DDR die Frage der Deutschen Einheit unverhofft auf die Tagesordnung der deutschen und internationalen Politik setzte. Die Ausstellung widmet sich dabei gleichermaßen der innerdeutschen Entwicklung wie den diplomatischen Verhandlungen, die den Weg zur Wiedervereinigung im Einvernehmen mit den europäischen Nachbarn sowie den USA ermöglichten. Zu sehen ist die Ausstellung ab dem 1. Juli, dem Tag der Währungs-, Wirtschafts- und Sozialunion vor 35 Jahren, bis zum 3. Oktober.

To mark the occasion, the Borderland Museum is showing the exhibition "The Road to German Unity" by the Federal Foundation for the Reappraisal of the SED Dictatorship and the Federal Foreign Office. Over 150 photos, facsimiles and contemporary witness videos describe how the Peaceful Revolution in the GDR unexpectedly put the issue of German unity on the agenda of German and international politics. The exhibition is equally dedicated to developments within Germany and the diplomatic negotiations that paved the way for reunification in agreement with the country's European neighbors and the USA. The exhibition will be on display from July 1, the day of monetary, economic and social union 35 years ago, until October 3.

À cette occasion, le Grenzlandmuseum présente l'exposition "Le chemin vers l'unité allemande" de la Fondation fédérale pour l'étude de la dictature du SED et du ministère des Affaires étrangères. Plus de 150 photos, fac-similés et vidéos de témoins décrivent comment la Révolution pacifique en RDA a mis de manière inattendue la question de l'unité allemande à l'ordre du jour de la politique allemande et internationale.
