Das Kirchenburgenmuseum im „Steinernen Gaden“ präsentiert auf drei Ebenen anschauliche Einblicke in die Geschichte und Bedeutung der Kirchenburgen in Südthüringen und Unterfranken – eingebettet in ein authentisches historisches Ambiente. Zu den Ausstellungselementen zählen unter anderem: ein detailreiches Holzmodell und ein großformatiges Luftbild der Ostheimer Kirchenburg Informationstafeln und ein Videofilm zur Ostheimer Anlage sowie zu weiteren Kirchenburgen der Region ein Diorama, das den Bau einer Gade veranschaulicht ein interaktives Informationsportal mit Touchscreen-Steuerung archäologische Fundstücke aus der Ostheimer Kirchenburg ergänzendes Informationsmaterial in Form von Prospekten Das Museum richtet sich an Besucherinnen und Besucher aller Altersgruppen mit Interesse an regionaler Baugeschichte, Alltagskultur und Verteidigungsarchitektur.
