Der Erfurter Hauptbahnhof, mit seinem historischen, denkmalgeschützten Empfangsgebäude und der neuen, lichtdurchfluteten Bahnhofshalle, wird als moderne Einkaufsgalerie durch den davor liegenden Willy-Brandt-Platz attraktiv in Szene gesetzt. Zahlreiche Geschäfte und gastronomische Einrichtungen haben nicht nur wochentags, sondern auch am Sonntag bis abends 20.00 Uhr geöffnet. Da Erfurt seit 2017 einer der wichtigsten ICE-Knotenpunkte Deutschlands ist, ist die Thüringer Landeshauptstadt national und international sehr gut mit dem Zug erreichbar.
