Die Staatliche Berufsfachschule für Holzbildhauer ist die einzige Holzbildhauerschule in Nordbayern und die älteste Deutschlands! 1852 im damals noch bayerischen Poppenhausen (Wasserkuppe) gegründet, zog sie rund zehn Jahre später nach Bischofsheim um. Die Ausbildung, die von Schülern aus ganz Deutschland und zum Teil sogar aus dem Ausland in Anspruch genommen wird, dauert drei Jahre in Theorie und Praxis (Vollzeitunterricht) und weist sowohl einen künstlerischen als auch einen handwerklichen Ansatz auf. L' école professionnelle publique de sculpture sur bois est la seule école de sculpture sur bois du nord de la Bavière et la plus ancienne d'Allemagne ! Fondée en 1852 à Poppenhausen (Wasserkuppe), alors en Bavière, elle a déménagé à Bischofsheim une dizaine d'années plus tard. La formation, à laquelle participent des élèves de toute l'Allemagne et parfois même de l'étranger, dure trois ans en théorie et en pratique (enseignement à plein temps) et présente une approche à la fois artistique et artisanale. Il est possible de visiter l'école lors de la journée portes ouvertes (en général à la mi-juillet ou à la fin juillet, voir la page d'accueil de l'école), au cours de laquelle les travaux de fin d'études des diplômés sont également présentés, ainsi que dans la galerie ouverte de l'école. The State Vocational School for Wood Sculptors is the only wood sculpting school in northern Bavaria and the oldest in Germany! Founded in 1852 in Poppenhausen (Wasserkuppe), then still in Bavaria, it moved to Bischofsheim around ten years later. The training, which is taken up by students from all over Germany and sometimes even from abroad, lasts three years in theory and practice (full-time teaching) and has both an artistic and a technical approach.
