Ce qui rend le château de Gleichenstein si particulier :
Ce château fort, situé au sommet du Schloßberg à près de 460 mètres d'altitude, a été construit en 1246 et a servi pendant plus de 500 ans, jusqu'au début du XIXe siècle, de siège administratif et judiciaire de l'administration de l'électorat de Mayence. Il est ainsi considéré comme
un lieu historique marquant pour l'Eichsfeld, …
… mais son histoire mouvementée, notamment après 1989, a laissé des traces. Il doit être rénové et ainsi préservé en tant que
plus grand et dernier château fort encore conservé de la région.
Ce que tu peux découvrir ici aujourd’hui : Depuis la terrasse, tu peux voir au loin Martinfeld dans la vallée de Rosoppetal avec le Schimberg, des parties du sud de l’Eichsfeld jusqu’à la Gobert et, par temps clair, le Hohen Meißner ainsi que l’Alheimer près de Rotenburg an der Fulda en Hesse.

Was die Burg Gleichenstein besonders macht:
Die Höhenburg auf dem knapp 460 Meter hohen Schloßberg wurde 1246 errichtet und diente über 500 Jahre lang, bis ins frühe 19. Jahrhundert, als Amts- und Gerichtssitz der Kurmainzischen Verwaltung. Damit gilt sie als
historisch prägend für das Eichsfeld, …
… doch die wechselvolle Geschichte, gerade nach 1989, hat ihre Spuren hinterlassen. Sie soll als
größte und letzte noch erhaltene Burganlage der Region saniert und so erhalten werden.
Was du heute hier erleben kannst: Von der Terrasse siehst du weit auf Martinfeld im Rosoppetal mit dem Schimberg, auf Teile des südlichen Eichsfeldes bis zur Gobert und bei guter Sicht dem Hohen Meißner sowie zum Alheimer nahe Rotenburg an der Fulda in Hessen.
