Am Wegweiser vor dem Verwaltungsgebäude der Feengrotten (Quellenhaus) beginnt diese Wanderung. Vorbei am Eingang zu den Führungen in den Feengrotten geht es leicht bergauf. Auf dem Weg entlang der sauren Wiesen bieten mehrere Aussichtspunkte einen weiten Blick auf Saalfeld und Umgebung. Nach ca. 4 km erreichen Sie die Rehaklinik und den Fuchsturm. Hier haben Sie den ersten Blick auf die Bohlenwand − ein geologisches Flächennaturdenkmal. Ab hier führt ein schmaler Pfad hinunter zur Saale. An der Saalebrücke finden Sie einen Infopunkt zur Bohlenwand. Danach geht es im Ortsteil Obernitz auf einem schmalen Pfad lange und steil bergauf. Oben angekommen wenden Sie sich nach links und wandern auf dem schmalen Pfad entlang der Oberkante der Bohlenwand. Am Waldrand angelangt habe Sie eine schöne Aussicht auf den Fuchsturm, Obernitz und den kleinen Ort Reschwitz. Ab hier geht es hinunter in den Ortsteil Köditz, den sie nur am Rand streifen. Gleich danach steigt der Weg sanft wieder an. Nach einiger Zeit kommen Sie an eine asphaltierte Straße, auf dem Roten Berg. Der Name weist auf die eisenhaltige Erde dieser Feldflur hin.Der Rote Berg ist ein altes Bergbaugebiet aus dem Mittelalter. Auf der Straße wandern Sie ein kurzes Stück nach links. Gleich danach verlassen Sie die Straße nach rechts und wandern auf dem Rasenstreifen zwischen Feldern bis zum Infopunkt Schwedenschanze. Informationen zum Namen Schwedenschanze und zu Besonderheiten der Natur bekommen Sie hier. Genießen Sie hier die Aussicht auf Saalfeld und Umgebung, bei klarer Sicht sieht man sogar die Burg Greifenstein oberhalb von Bad Blankenburg. Weiter geht es auf dem Rasenstreifen. Am Feldweg angekommen, wandern sie auf diesem nach rechts. Hinter einer Gartenanlage bietet sich wieder ein schöner Ausblick auf Saalfeld. Nach einiger Zeit sind Sie oberhalb des Ortsteil Gorndorf angekommen. Dann wandern Sie hinab nach Gorndorf.Ihre Wanderung endet an einer Litfaßsäule. Wenden Sie sich hier nach rechts. In ca. 50 m Entfernung ist eine Bushaltestelle, die Sie nutzen können um mit dem Bus zu ihrem Ausgangspunkt Feengrotten oder in die Innenstadt zurück zu kommen.

La randonnée commence au panneau indicateur devant le bâtiment administratif des Feengrotten (maison de la source). En passant devant l'entrée des visites guidées des Feengrotten, le chemin monte légèrement. Le long des prairies acides, plusieurs points de vue offrent une large vue sur Saalfeld et ses environs. Après environ 4 km, vous atteignez la clinique de réhabilitation et la tour du renard. De là, vous avez la première vue sur la Bohlenwand, une réserve naturelle géologique horizontale. Un sentier étroit descend ensuite vers la Saale. Au pont de la Saale se trouve un point d'information sur la Bohlenwand. Ensuite, dans le quartier Obernitz, un chemin étroit monte longtemps et raide. Arrivé en haut, tournez à gauche et suivez ce chemin étroit le long du bord supérieur de la Bohlenwand. Arrivé à la lisière de la forêt, vous avez une belle vue sur la tour du renard, Obernitz et le petit village de Reschwitz. Ensuite, le chemin descend dans le quartier Köditz, que vous longerez seulement en bordure. Ensuite, le chemin monte doucement de nouveau. Après un moment, vous arrivez à une route asphaltée sur la Montagne Rouge. Le nom fait référence à la terre ferrugineuse de ce champ. La Montagne Rouge est une ancienne zone minière datant du Moyen Âge. Sur la route, marchez un court instant vers la gauche. Peu après, quittez la route vers la droite et marchez sur la bande d'herbe entre les champs jusqu'au point d'information Schwedenschanze. Vous trouverez ici des informations sur le nom Schwedenschanze et sur les particularités de la nature. Profitez de la vue sur Saalfeld et les environs ; par temps clair, il est même possible de voir le château Greifenstein au-dessus de Bad Blankenburg. Continuez sur la bande d'herbe. Arrivé à un chemin de campagne, prenez-le vers la droite. Derrière un jardin, la vue sur Saalfeld s'ouvre de nouveau. Après un moment, vous êtes au-dessus du quartier Gorndorf. Ensuite, descendez vers Gorndorf. Votre randonnée se termine à un panneau publicitaire. Tournez à droite. À environ 50 mètres, un arrêt de bus vous permet de revenir en bus à votre point de départ aux Feengrotten ou au centre-ville.

The hike begins at the signpost in front of the administrative building of the Feengrotten (Quellenhaus). Passing the entrance to the Feengrotten tours, it goes gently uphill. The Red Mountain is an old mining area from the Middle Ages. Walk a short section left on the road. Then leave the road to the right and follow the grass strip between fields to the info point Schwedenschanze. Here you receive information about the name Schwedenschanze and the peculiarities of the nature. Enjoy the view over Saalfeld and surroundings – in clear weather you can even see Greifenstein castle above Bad Blankenburg. Continue along the grass strip. Upon reaching a field path, turn right and follow it. Behind a garden area, another nice view opens up on Saalfeld. After some time, you reach above the district Gorndorf. Then descend down to Gorndorf. Your hike ends at a poster column. Turn right here. About 50 m away is a bus stop which you can use to return to your starting point Feengrotten or the town centre by bus.
