Der Wanderweg führt durch den Hohensteiner Wald und streift dabei auch den Schlosspark Hohenstein. Im äußeren Park sind noch alte Weganlagen und Treppen zu finden. Am Ende der Reithalle biegt ein schmaler Pfad nach links zu den Querkelsteinen ab. Der alte Steinbruch bleibt rechts liegen und der Pfad schlängelt sich am Hang entlang in den Äußeren Park Hohenstein zu den geheimnisvollen Felsformationen. Auf dem Pfad kann man gelegentlich auch Reitern begegnen. Rundwegschilder weisen den Weg. Die Standortschilder sind bei den jeweiligen Felsen angebracht und enthalten ihren Namen. Über einen gut ausgebauten Forstweg gelangen wir zu der wenig befahrenen und geteerten Ortsverbindungsstraße von Stöppach nach Hohenstein. Es geht leicht bergauf und schon bald zeigt an der linken Seite auf der Höhe einer Steinbank ein Hinweisschild den Weg zum Teufelsstein an. Ein kurzer Abstecher führt zu diesem Felsblock. Er war um 1815 mit einer Hütte ausgestattet, die über zwei Steintreppen und einer dazwischenliegenden Holztreppe erreichbar war. Jetzt eignet er sich gut als Kletterfelsen. Zurück auf der Straße geht die Wanderung weiter Richtung Haupteingang des Schlosses Hohenstein. Ein Hotel mit Restaurant im Schloss bietet ein besonderes Ambiente. Der Schlossturm kann bis auf weiteres leider nicht bestiegen werden. Dafür kann man jedoch die alte Kapelle aus dem 16. Jahrhundert besuchen. Der Schlüssel hierfür ist im Schlossrestaurant erhältlich. Zu empfehlen ist auf jeden Fall die Besichtigung des Rokokoparks. Zurück auf der Fahrstraße ist es nur noch ein kurzes Stück bis zum Ausgangspunkt der Rundwanderung.

It goes slightly uphill and soon, on the left side at the height of a stone bench, a signpost shows the way to the Teufelsstein. A short detour leads to this rock block. Around 1815, it was equipped with a hut accessible by two stone staircases and a wooden staircase in between. Now it is well suited as a climbing rock.</p> <p>Back on the road, the hike continues toward the main entrance of Hohenstein Castle. A hotel with a restaurant in the castle offers a special ambiance. Unfortunately, the castle tower cannot be climbed for the time being. However, you can visit the old chapel from the 16th century. The key for this is available at the castle restaurant. A visit to the Rococo park is definitely recommended. Back on the driveway, it is only a short distance to the starting point of the circular hike.</p>
