About: Itztal-Rundweg Itz valley circular route Itztal-Rundweg

Auf dieser Tour erleben wir im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes die „Höhen und Tiefen“ des Itztals. Von Hemmendorf geht es direkt steil bergauf zu einen schönen Aussichtspunkt mit Rastmöglichkeit. Von dort oben kann man den Blick weit in die Landschaft schweifen lassen und sieht je nach Jahreszeit (und damit verbundener Höhe des angrenzenden Maisfeldes) sogar bis zur Veste Coburg. Die Tour ist aufgrund ihrer Länge und zwei steigungsreichen Abschnitten für alle geeignet, die ein bisschen Grundkondition beim Wandern mitbringen. Sie führt durchgehend über befestigte Wege und wäre auch mit dem (E-)Mountainbike fahrbar. Highlights der Tour sind ohne Frage das historische Schloss und die Schlosskirche in Lahm sowie das schöne Fachwerkdorf Untermerzbach, wo es auch Einkehrmöglichkeiten gibt.

Lors de ce parcours, nous vivons au sens propre les „hauteurs et profondeurs“ de la vallée de l'Itz. De Hemmendorf, on monte directement en pente raide jusqu'à un beau point de vue avec lieu de repos. De là-haut, on peut laisser son regard se perdre loin dans le paysage et voir selon la saison (et donc la hauteur du champ de maïs voisin) même jusqu'à la forteresse de Cobourg. Ce parcours convient à tous ceux qui ont un peu de condition physique pour la randonnée, en raison de sa longueur et de deux sections en montée exigeantes. Il suit continuellement des chemins aménagés et serait aussi praticable avec un (e-)VTT. Les points forts de la randonnée sont sans aucun doute le château historique et l'église du château à Lahm ainsi que le charmant village à colombages Untermerzbach, où il y a aussi des possibilités de restauration.

On this route, we experience the "ups and downs" of the Itz valley in the truest sense of the word. From Hemmendorf, it goes steeply uphill to a beautiful viewpoint with a resting spot. From up there, you can gaze far across the landscape and, depending on the season (and thus the height of the adjacent cornfield), you can even see as far as Veste Coburg. Due to its length and two steep sections, the route is suitable for anyone with a bit of basic hiking fitness. It runs entirely on paved paths and would also be rideable with an (e-)mountain bike. Highlights of the route are undoubtedly the historic castle and the castle church in Lahm as well as the charming half-timbered village of Untermerzbach, where there are also places to stop for refreshments.

Man überquert die Kreisstraße in Richtung den ritterschaftlichen Gutshöfen Truschenhof und Schenkenau.</p> <p>Kurz vor dem Gut biegt der Weg rechts ab und überquert die Itz. Der Weg führt nun nach Kaltenbrunn. Man folgt der örtlichen Wegweisung und unterquert bald die Bundesstraße B 4. Der Wanderweg führt wieder in die freie Landschaft durch eine abwechslungsreiche Wald- und Wiesenlandschaft. Nach leichtem Aufstieg führt der Weg in Richtung Lahm. Vor dem Ort geht der Weg ab nach Hemmendorf. Er führt entlang der Kreisstraße direkt ins Dorf und zum Ausgangspunkt zurück.</p>
