Auf dem fast dreistündigen Weg von Untermerzbach nach Seßlach sind 12 von Künstlern geschaffene christliche Holzfiguren aufgestellt, die mit erläuternden Bibelstellen versehen sind. Die Skulpturen dienen nicht nur zur Verzierung, sondern auch als Wegmarkierung auf der etwa 10 Kilometer langen Strecke. So kann man die biblische Geschichte von Adam und Eva über Noah, Abraham und Moses bis zum Wirken Jesu nacherleben und ganz nebenbei die Natur und Ausblicke am Wegesrand genießen.

On the almost three-hour path from Untermerzbach to Seßlach, 12 Christian wooden figures created by artists are set up, each accompanied by explanatory Bible verses. The sculptures not only serve as decoration but also as trail markers on the approximately 10-kilometer-long route. Sur le parcours d’environ trois heures d’Untermerzbach à Seßlach, douze figures chrétiennes en bois créées par des artistes sont installées, accompagnées de versets bibliques explicatifs. Ces sculptures ne servent pas seulement à décorer, elles font aussi office de repères le long du parcours d'environ 10 kilomètres. On peut ainsi revivre l'histoire biblique d'Adam et Ève, en passant par Noé, Abraham et Moïse jusqu'à l'œuvre de Jésus, tout en profitant de la nature et des panoramas au bord du chemin.

schema:value @de <p>Der Fränkische Bibelweg beginnt vor dem Untermerzbacher Schloss. Vor dem Eingangstor befindet sich die Skulptur 1 „Adam und Eva“. Dort beginnt auch die Wegmarkierung des „Fränkischen Bibelweges“ mit dem „Alpha und Omega“. Entlang des Weges sind 12 von Künstlern geschaffene christliche Holzfiguren aufgestellt, die mit erläuternden Bibelstellen versehen sind. Von der 1. Skulptur führt der Weg leicht bergauf in Richtung Gasthof „Hunneneiche“. Nach etwa 300 m befindet sich auf einem flachen Plateau die Skulptur Nr. 2 „Noah“. Von hier aus hat man einen herrlichen Rundblick über den Itzgrund bis zu den Türmen von Kloster Banz und zu den Untermerzbacher Ortsteilen Gereuth, Buch und Wüstenwelsberg.</p> <p>Der Weg biegt nun nach rechts ab. Er führt an einem kleinen Wäldchen und am jüdischen Friedhof vorbei in die Ortsmitte von Untermerzbach. Dort hat man hinter dem wunderschönen Rathaus einen guten Blick zur evangelischen Kirche und neben dem Dorfbrunnen auf die Skulptur Nr. 3 „Abraham“. An der Hauptstraße entlang dem Bibelwegweiser nach führt der Weg am Ende des Dorfes in eine linke Seitenstraße mit vielen alten Kellern am Neubaugebiet Erkel II vorbei auf dem Radweg in Richtung Memmelsdorf (Unterfranken). Nach etwa 700 m macht die mächtige Skulptur Nr. 4 „Moses“ auf sich aufmerksam. Auch von dort gibt es einen herrlichen Ausblick über den mittleren Itzgrund, der im Osten von den „Eierbergen“ und den „Banzer Bergen“ begrenzt wird, während im Westen die Bergkante der „Haßberge“ aufsteigt.</p> <p>In Memmelsdorf führt der Weg über eine Brücke geradeaus am alten Backhaus vorbei nach etwa 100 m zur Skulptur Nr. 5 „Psalm 23“ in der Kempfengasse. Die Synagoge Memmelsdorf in der Ortsmitte ist hier eine Besichtigung wert. Durch die Kempfengasse geht es wieder aus Memmelsdorf hinaus. Es geht einen geraden asphaltierten, später nur noch geschotterten Weg bergaufwärts zum Wald bis zur Skulptur Nr. 6 „Jesaja“ am jüdischen Friedhof. Von hier aus geht es geradeaus ca. 600 m weiter bis zu einer Waldweg-Kreuzung. Diese wird überquert. Nach 20 m führt der Weg nach rechts zur Skulptur Nr. 7 „Johannes der Täufer“. Von dort geht es wiederum oben über den Bergkamm auf einem Trampelpfad entlang über Stock und Stein zum sogenannten „Christenstein“ mit der Skulptur Nr. 8 „Versuchung Jesu“. Der „Christenstein“ besteht aus von Wind und Wetter freigelegten Felsen.</p> <p>Von hier aus führt der Weg rechts steil nach unten. Nach etwa 50 m führt der Wanderpfad rechts nach ca. 100 m auf einen breit geschotterten Forstweg. Der Weg führt nun quer durch Wiesen, Felder und Obstbäume an einem alten Gedenkstein aus dem Jahre 1634 vorbei. Das Schloss Wiesen lässt man rechts unten liegen, überquert eine kleine Ortsverbindungsstraße und gelangt wieder in einen Wald. Nach ca. 200 m fällt ein kleiner Steinbruch auf der rechten Seite dem Betrachter ins Auge. Dort befindet sich die Skulptur Nr. 9 „Heilung durch Zuwendung“. Nach weiteren 100 m ist an der Westkante des Bergrückens die Skulptur Nr. 10 „Ostern“ zu erkennen. Von hier aus hat man einen schönen Blick auf einige Häuser des Ortes Heilgersdorf.</p> <p>Hinter einer großen Waldlichtung mit Wiese führt der Weg nach rechts auf eine asphaltierte Straße. Von dort ist ein erster Blick auf die Stadt Seßlach möglich. Die Straße wird überquert und nach 100 m biegt der Weg nach rechts ab. Nach einer Weile weist der Bibelwegweiser den Weg nach rechts. Nach ca. 500 m kann man hinter den Bäumen am Waldrand gelegen die dreiteilige Skulptur Nr. 11 „Pfingsten“ erkennen. Diese blickt ins schöne Städtchen Seßlach hinunter. Eine Sitzbankgruppe lädt hier zu einer kleinen Rast ein. Der Bibelweg führt nun auf einem Feldweg halbrechts, bergabwärts weiter. Am nächsten Wäldchen geht es dann halblinks über den Hügel in Richtung Seßlach hinunter. Kurz vor dem Stadttor von Seßlach an der alten Rodachbrücke lädt die letzte Skulptur Nr. 12 „Das Himmlische Jerusalem“ als Zielpunkt noch einmal zum Lesen des Textes und zum kurzen Verweilen ein.</p> <p>Im Anschluss an die Wanderung bietet die mittelalterliche Stadt Seßlach viele Einkehrmöglichkeiten mit typisch fränkischer Küche.</p>

Schloss Wiesen is left down to the right, a small local connecting road is crossed, and the path re-enters a forest. After about 200 m, a small quarry on the right side catches the eye. There is sculpture No. 9 "Healing through attention." After another 100 m, sculpture No. 10 "Easter" can be seen on the west edge of the ridge. From here, there is a beautiful view of some houses in the village of Heilgersdorf.</p> <p>Behind a large forest clearing with a meadow, the path leads right onto an asphalt road. From there, there is a first view of the town of Seßlach. The road is crossed, and after 100 m the path turns right. After a while, the Bible path sign points right. After about 500 m, behind the trees at the forest edge, the three-part sculpture No. 11 "Pentecost" can be seen. It looks down into the beautiful little town of Seßlach. A bench group invites for a short rest. The Bible path now continues on a field path half-right, downhill. At the next small forest, it goes half-left over the hill towards Seßlach. Shortly before the town gate of Seßlach at the old Rodach bridge, the last sculpture No. 12 "The Heavenly Jerusalem" invites you to read the text and pause briefly as the destination point.</p> <p>After the hike, the medieval town of Seßlach offers many places to eat with typical Franconian cuisine.</p>

Depuis la première sculpture, le chemin monte légèrement en direction de la « Hunneneiche », une auberge. Après environ 300 m, sur un plateau plat, se trouve la sculpture n°2 « Noé ». De là, on a une vue panoramique splendide sur la vallée de l'Itz jusqu'aux tours du monastère de Banz et aux quartiers d'Untermerzbach : Gereuth, Buch et Wüstenwelsberg.</p> <p>Le chemin bifurque ensuite à droite. Il longe un petit bois et un cimetière juif pour arriver au centre d'Untermerzbach. Derrière la magnifique mairie, on peut voir clairement l'église évangélique et, à côté du puits du village, la sculpture n°3 « Abraham ». Le long de la route principale, le sentier biblique mène à la fin du village dans une rue latérale à gauche, passant devant de nombreuses anciennes caves dans le nouveau quartier d'Erkel II, puis continue sur la piste cyclable en direction de Memmelsdorf (Basse-Franconie). Après environ 700 m, la puissante sculpture n°4 « Moïse » attire l'attention. De là, on a aussi une vue splendide sur la vallée moyenne de l'Itz, qui est délimitée à l'est par les « Eierbergen » et les « Banzer Bergen », tandis que la crête montagneuse des « Haßberge » s'élève à l'ouest.</p> <p>À Memmelsdorf, le chemin traverse un pont et passe devant l'ancien fournil. Après environ 100 m, on trouve la sculpture n°5 « Psaume 23 » dans la ruelle Kempfengasse. La synagogue de Memmelsdorf, au centre du village, vaut une visite. Par la Kempfengasse, on quitte à nouveau Memmelsdorf. Le sentier monte sur un chemin droit, d'abord asphalté puis gravillonné, vers la forêt, jusqu'à la sculpture n°6 « Ésaïe » près du cimetière juif. De là, le chemin continue tout droit sur environ 600 m jusqu'à une intersection de chemins forestiers, qu'il traverse. Après 20 m, il tourne à droite vers la sculpture n°7 « Jean le Baptiste ». De là, il remonte sur la crête de la montagne par un sentier étroit, passant par des brindilles et des pierres, jusqu'au « Christenstein » avec la sculpture n°8 « Tentation de Jésus ». Le « Christenstein » est constitué de rochers dégagés par le vent et les intempéries.</p> <p>De là, le chemin descend raide vers la droite. Après environ 50 m, un sentier de randonnée tourne à droite et, après environ 100 m, rejoint une large piste forestière gravillonnée. Le chemin traverse maintenant des prairies, des champs et des vergers, passant devant une ancienne pierre commémorative datant de 1634. Le château de Wiesen reste en bas à droite, on traverse une petite route reliant des villages et on entre à nouveau dans une forêt. Après environ 200 m, une petite carrière sur la droite attire l'attention. La sculpture n°9 « Guérison par attention » s'y trouve. Après encore 100 m, à la bordure ouest de la crête, on aperçoit la sculpture n°10 « Pâques ». De là, on a une belle vue sur quelques maisons du village de Heilgersdorf.</p> <p>Après une grande clairière boisée avec prairie, le chemin tourne à droite vers une route asphaltée. De là, on a une première vue sur la ville de Seßlach. On traverse la route et, après 100 m, le chemin tourne à droite. Après un certain temps, le panneau du sentier biblique indique de tourner à droite. Après environ 500 m, on peut apercevoir derrière les arbres en bord de forêt la sculpture en trois parties n°11 « Pentecôte ». Elle domine la jolie petite ville de Seßlach. Un groupe de bancs invite à une petite pause. Le sentier biblique continue ensuite sur un chemin de campagne en biais à droite, descendant. Au prochain bois, on descend en biais à gauche par la colline en direction de Seßlach. Peu avant la porte de la ville de Seßlach, près du vieux pont sur la Rodach, la dernière sculpture n°12 « La Jérusalem céleste » invite à nouveau à lire le texte et à faire une courte halte.</p> <p>Après la randonnée, la ville médiévale de Seßlach offre de nombreuses possibilités pour se restaurer avec une cuisine typiquement franconienne.</p>

Depuis la première sculpture, le chemin monte légèrement en direction de la « Hunneneiche », une auberge. Après environ 300 m, sur un plateau plat, se trouve la sculpture n°2 « Noé ». De là, on a une vue panoramique splendide sur la vallée de l'Itz jusqu'aux tours du monastère de Banz et aux quartiers d'Untermerzbach : Gereuth, Buch et Wüstenwelsberg. Le chemin bifurque ensuite à droite. Il longe un petit bois et un cimetière juif pour arriver au centre d'Untermerzbach. Derrière la magnifique mairie, on peut voir clairement l'église évangélique et, à côté du puits du village, la sculpture n°3 « Abraham ». Le long de la route principale, le sentier biblique mène à la fin du village dans une rue latérale à gauche, passant devant de nombreuses anciennes caves dans le nouveau quartier d'Erkel II, puis continue sur la piste cyclable en direction de Memmelsdorf (Basse-Franconie). Après environ 700 m, la puissante sculpture n°4 « Moïse » attire l'attention. De là, on a aussi une vue splendide sur la vallée moyenne de l'Itz, qui est délimitée à l'est par les « Eierbergen » et les « Banzer Bergen », tandis que la crête montagneuse des « Haßberge » s'élève à l'ouest. À Memmelsdorf, le chemin traverse un pont et passe devant l'ancien fournil. Après environ 100 m, on trouve la sculpture n°5 « Psaume 23 » dans la ruelle Kempfengasse. La synagogue de Memmelsdorf, au centre du village, vaut une visite. Par la Kempfengasse, on quitte à nouveau Memmelsdorf. Le sentier monte sur un chemin droit, d'abord asphalté puis gravillonné, vers la forêt, jusqu'à la sculpture n°6 « Ésaïe » près du cimetière juif. De là, le chemin continue tout droit sur environ 600 m jusqu'à une intersection de chemins forestiers, qu'il traverse. Après 20 m, il tourne à droite vers la sculpture n°7 « Jean le Baptiste ». De là, il remonte sur la crête de la montagne par un sentier étroit, passant par des brindilles et des pierres, jusqu'au « Christenstein » avec la sculpture n°8 « Tentation de Jésus ». Le « Christenstein » est constitué de rochers dégagés par le vent et les intempéries. De là, le chemin descend raide vers la droite. Après environ 50 m, un sentier de randonnée tourne à droite et, après environ 100 m, rejoint une large piste forestière gravillonnée. Le chemin traverse maintenant des prairies, des champs et des vergers, passant devant une ancienne pierre commémorative datant de 1634. Le château de Wiesen reste en bas à droite, on traverse une petite route reliant des villages et on entre à nouveau dans une forêt. Après environ 200 m, une petite carrière sur la droite attire l'attention. La sculpture n°9 « Guérison par attention » s'y trouve. Après encore 100 m, à la bordure ouest de la crête, on aperçoit la sculpture n°10 « Pâques ». De là, on a une belle vue sur quelques maisons du village de Heilgersdorf. Après une grande clairière boisée avec prairie, le chemin tourne à droite vers une route asphaltée. De là, on a une première vue sur la ville de Seßlach. On traverse la route et, après 100 m, le chemin tourne à droite. Après un certain temps, le panneau du sentier biblique indique de tourner à droite. Après environ 500 m, on peut apercevoir derrière les arbres en bord de forêt la sculpture en trois parties n°11 « Pentecôte ». Elle domine la jolie petite ville de Seßlach. Un groupe de bancs invite à une petite pause. Le sentier biblique continue ensuite sur un chemin de campagne en biais à droite, descendant. Au prochain bois, on descend en biais à gauche par la colline en direction de Seßlach. Peu avant la porte de la ville de Seßlach, près du vieux pont sur la Rodach, la dernière sculpture n°12 « La Jérusalem céleste » invite à nouveau à lire le texte et à faire une courte halte. Après la randonnée, la ville médiévale de Seßlach offre de nombreuses possibilités pour se restaurer avec une cuisine typiquement franconienne.

Along the main road following the Bible path sign, the path leads at the end of the village into a left side street past many old cellars in the Erkel II new development area, onto the cycle path towards Memmelsdorf (Lower Franconia). After about 700 m, the mighty sculpture No. 4 "Moses" draws attention. From there, there is also a beautiful view over the middle Itz valley, which is bordered to the east by the "Eierberge" and the "Banzer Bergen", while to the west the mountain ridge of the "Haßberge" rises. In Memmelsdorf, the path leads straight over a bridge past the old bakery to sculpture No. 5 "Psalm 23" in Kempfengasse after about 100 m. The Memmelsdorf synagogue in the town center is worth a visit here. Through Kempfengasse, it goes out of Memmelsdorf again. The path then goes straight on an asphalted, later only gravel path uphill to the forest to sculpture No. 6 "Isaiah" at the Jewish cemetery. From here, it goes straight on about 600 m to a forest path intersection, which is crossed. After 20 m, the path leads right to sculpture No. 7 "John the Baptist." From there, it goes again over the ridge on a footpath along over roots and stones to the so-called "Christenstein" with sculpture No. 8 "Temptation of Jesus." The "Christenstein" consists of rocks exposed to wind and weather. From here, the path leads steeply down to the right. After about 50 m, the hiking trail leads right after about 100 m onto a wide gravel forest road. The path now runs across meadows, fields, and fruit trees past an old memorial stone from 1634. Schloss Wiesen is left down to the right, a small local connecting road is crossed, and the path re-enters a forest. After about 200 m, a small quarry on the right side catches the eye. There is sculpture No. 9 "Healing through attention." After another 100 m, sculpture No. 10 "Easter" can be seen on the west edge of the ridge. From here, there is a beautiful view of some houses in the village of Heilgersdorf. Behind a large forest clearing with a meadow, the path leads right onto an asphalt road. From there, there is a first view of the town of Seßlach. The road is crossed, and after 100 m the path turns right. After a while, the Bible path sign points right. After about 500 m, behind the trees at the forest edge, the three-part sculpture No. 11 "Pentecost" can be seen. It looks down into the beautiful little town of Seßlach. A bench group invites for a short rest. The Bible path now continues on a field path half-right, downhill. At the next small forest, it goes half-left over the hill towards Seßlach. Shortly before the town gate of Seßlach at the old Rodach bridge, the last sculpture No. 12 "The Heavenly Jerusalem" invites you to read the text and pause briefly as the destination point. After the hike, the medieval town of Seßlach offers many places to eat with typical Franconian cuisine.
