Coburg Die Residenzstadt des Herzogtums Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha steht für große europäische Geschichte – aber genauso für Lebensfreude. Bewacht von einer der größten Burganlagen Deutschlands, reihen sich Sehenswürdigkeit ersten Rangs wie Perlen an einer Kette aneinander. Für die Stadt mit ihrem lebendigen Marktplatz, Wasserspielen, attraktiven Straßencafes und Geschäften sollte eine eigene Tagestour eingeplant werden. Von der Tourist-Info in der Herrngasse (Seitengasse Marktplatz) gehen regelmäßig Stadtführungen los. Meeder Man sieht es diesem gemütlichen Dorf auf den ersten Blick nicht an, dass es bis ins 13. Jahrhundert eine Schlüsselrolle bei der Christianisierung der Region innehatte. Denn als der Dreißigjährige Krieg 1634 bis 1637 den Marktflecken heimsuchte, wurde er fast vollständig zerstört. Seit 1651 mahnen die Bürger mit einem Friedensfest vor einer Wiederholung dieser Schreckensjahre.1982 eröffneten sie ein Museum, das ebenfalls die Grauen des Krieges und den Segen des Friedens thematisiert. Weitere Sehenswürdigkeiten sind die Kirche St. Laurentius und das Sternbergschloss, eine außergewöhnliche bauliche Kombination aus Fachwerk und Renaissance. Bad Rodach Bad Rodach ist nicht nur eines der touristischen Zentren des Rodachtals. Rund um den historischen Marktplatz laden Geschäfte, (Straßen-)Cafés und Restaurants zum Verweilen ein. Im Jagdschloss ist auch die Tourist Information untergebracht. Ebenso besichtigt haben sollte man den Hausberg „Georgenberg“ mit seinem urigen Biergarten. Die ThermeNatur holt ihr Heilwasser aus 652 m Tiefe.
