On the eleven-kilometer trail, you can ski classic style or skate. To reach the Rennsteig, you have to go steeply uphill. You reach the Rennsteig after about 5 km. It is the historic ridge and trade route of the Thuringian Forest. As a ski hiking trail, it is also the longest long-distance ski trail in Central Europe. Via this long-distance ski trail you reach Suhler Ausspanne, just a short distance more and you reach Plänckners Viewpoint. Here there is a great observation tower with views over the weapons city Suhl and far into the distance. The Beerberg with Plänckners Viewpoint is an extinct volcano exactly 982.9 m high. From here it goes downhill to the Suhler Hut. A stopover is definitely worthwhile because here you can still get real Thuringian dumplings. Refreshed, you then continue downhill past Rosenkopf back to Suhl-Goldlauter.

Il y a une très belle tour d'observation offrant une vue sur la ville des armes Suhl et au loin. Le Beerberg avec la vue Plänckners est un volcan éteint culminant exactement à 982,9 m. De là, la descente mène au refuge de Suhl. Une halte est vivement conseillée, car vous y dégusterez encore de véritables Knödel thuringiens. Après cet encas revigorant, la descente continue par le Rosenkopf pour revenir à Suhl-Goldlauter.

Auf der elf Kilometer langen Strecke können Sie im klassischen Stil fahren oder auch skaten.  Um den Rennsteig zu erreichen, müssen Sie steil bergauf. Den Rennsteig erreichen Sie nach ca. 5 km. Er ist der historische Kamm- und Handelsweg des Thüringer Waldes. Als Skiwanderweg ist er ebenfalls der längste Fernskiwanderweg Mitteleuropas. Über den Fernskiwanderweg gelangen Sie zur Suhler Ausspanne, nur noch ein kurzes Stück und Sie erreichen die Plänckners Aussicht. Hier gibt es einen tollen Aussichtsturm mit Blick auf die Waffenstadt Suhl und in weite Ferne. Der Beerberg mit der Plänckners Aussicht ist ein erloschener Vulkan und genau 982,9 m hoch. Von hier geht es bergab zur Suhler Hütte. Eine Einkehr lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, denn hier bekommen Sie noch echte Thüringer Klöße. Frisch gestärkt geht es dann weiter bergab über den Rosenkopf zurück nach Suhl-Goldlauter.
