Sie parken Ihren Wagen an der Bergbaude „Am Brand“. Die Rundloipe entführt Sie in die winterliche Landschaft des Thüringier Schiefergebirges, die hier am Hohen Schuss beim Brand (819 m) den südöstlichsten Ausläufer bildet. Schon nach 200 Metern kommen Sie an den ersten faszinierenden Aussichtspunkt. Vor Ihnen erstrecken sich das Ölsetal und die Berge um Hasenthal. Bei guter Sicht öffnet sich Ihnen sogar der Blick auf die ehemalige Heer- und Handelsstraße von Nürnberg nach Leipzig und die Höhen des Frankenwaldes. Die Loipe führt Sie nun durch die alten Griffelschieferbrüche. Auf einer Informationstafel erfahren Sie mehr über das alte schweißtreibende Handwerk unserer Vorfahren. Generationen von früheren Abc-Schützen haben mit den Schiefergriffeln aus Spechtsbrunn Schreiben gelernt. Nach der Triniuskreuzung erwartet Sie ein recht steiler Anstieg hoch zum Rennsteig und weiter bis zur Laubeshütte. Hier kreuzt übrigens die Glühweinloipe. Anschließend erwartet Sie eine schöne Abfahrt zum Skifahrerdenkmal. Von dort geht’s auf der Brandstraße zurück zur Triniuskreuzung. An dieser Stelle fahren Sie nach links auf den Nürnberger Skiweg. Nach einer kurzen Abfahrt erreichen Sie die Brandwiese. Falls Sie noch „Körner“ haben, wie wir Langläufer gern sagen, drehen Sie ein paar weitere Runden auf der Sonnenloipe direkt auf der Wiese! Nach etwa 100 Metern zu Fuß erreichen Sie wieder den Ausgangpunkt, die Bergbaude „Am Brand“. Für Ihre Kinder wäre vielleicht auch eine lustige Rodelpartie eine super Idee. Die beleuchtete Rodelbahn finden Sie ganz in der Nähe.

Vous garez votre voiture à la cabane de montagne « Am Brand ». La boucle de ski de fond vous emmène dans le paysage hivernal du massif ardoisier de Thuringe, qui forme ici au Hohen Schuss près du Brand (819 m) le prolongement le plus au sud-est. Après seulement 200 mètres, vous arrivez au premier point de vue fascinant. Devant vous s’étendent la vallée d’Ölse et les montagnes autour de Hasenthal. Par bonne visibilité, vous pouvez même apercevoir l’ancienne route militaire et commerciale de Nuremberg à Leipzig et les hauteurs de la Forêt de Franconie. La piste vous emmène ensuite à travers les anciennes carrières d’ardoise à crayons. Un panneau d’information vous en apprend plus sur l’ancien artisanat pénible de nos ancêtres. Des générations d’écoliers ont appris à écrire avec les crayons d’ardoise de Spechtsbrunn. Après le croisement Trinius, un passage assez raide vous attend jusqu’au Rennsteig, puis jusqu’à la cabane Laubeshütte. C’est d’ailleurs ici que la piste du vin chaud se croise. Ensuite, une belle descente vous amène au monument des skieurs. De là, vous retournez sur la Brandstraße vers le croisement Trinius. À cet endroit, vous prenez à gauche sur la piste de ski de Nuremberg. Après une courte descente, vous atteignez la prairie Brandwiese. Si vous avez encore des « forces », comme nous fondeurs aimons dire, faites quelques tours supplémentaires sur la piste ensoleillée directement sur la prairie ! Après environ 100 mètres à pied, vous revenez au point de départ, la cabane de montagne « Am Brand ». Pour vos enfants, une partie de luge amusante serait peut-être aussi une excellente idée. La piste de luge éclairée se trouve tout près.

You park your car at the mountain hut "Am Brand". The circular trail leads you into the winter landscape of the Thuringian Slate Mountains, which here at the Hohen Schuss by the Brand (819 m) forms the southeasternmost foothill. After just 200 meters you reach the first fascinating viewpoint. In front of you stretches the Ölsetal and the mountains around Hasenthal. With good visibility, the sight even opens to the former military and trade route from Nuremberg to Leipzig and the heights of the Franconian Forest. The trail now takes you through the old slate quarries. An information board tells you more about the old strenuous craft of our ancestors. Generations of former schoolchildren learned to write with the slate pencils from Spechtsbrunn. After the Trinius crossing, a rather steep ascent awaits you up to the Rennsteig and further to the Laubeshütte. Here, by the way, the Glühwein trail crosses. Next, a nice descent leads to the Skier's Memorial. From there, you continue on the Brandstraße back to the Trinius crossing. At this point, turn left onto the Nuremberg ski trail. After a short descent, you reach the Brandwiese. If you still have "grains," as we skiers like to say, take a few more rounds on the Sonnenloipe directly on the meadow! After about 100 meters on foot, you reach the starting point again, the mountain hut "Am Brand". A fun sledding trip might also be a great idea for your children. You can find the illuminated sledding slope very close by.
