Das daneben liegende Bootshaus ist das Domizil des Kanu- und Wandervereins Artern. Auf dem Gelände des Kanu- und Wandervereins befindet sich ein Bedarfszeltplatz. Wer möchte kann bereits hier übernachten. Ansonsten führt die Paddeltour noch ca. 4 km weiter bis zum Wehr und Schleuse Ritteburg.

schema:value @de <p>In Oldisleben sollte man sich unbedingt die Zuckerfabrik, ein technisches Denkmal, ansehen. Die technische Ausstattung stammt aus der Gründerzeit und ist einmalig in Deutschland. Hier wurde bis 1990 mit Dampfmaschinen, die älteste stammt aus dem Jahr 1882, Diffusionsbatterien (die einzige in Europa) und anderen historischen Apparaten gearbeitet (Besuch nach Voranmeldung). Die Zuckerfabrik ist von der Ein- und Ausstiegstelle an der Brücke Oldisleben ca. 1,5 km entfernt.</p> <p>Für Naschkatzen empfielt sich ein Besuch in der Goethe Schokolatentaler Manufaktur am Ortsausgang Richtung Bad Frankenhausen (ebenfalls ca. 1,5 km von der Ein- und Ausstiegstelle entfernt). </p> <p>In Heldrungen ist die Wasserburg einen Besuch wert. Die Wasserburg Heldrungen (ca. 2 km von der Ein- und Ausstiegsstelle entfernt) ist die einzige vollständig erhaltene befestigte Wasserburg französischer Festungsbaukunst in Deutschland mit zwei heute noch funktionierenden Wassergabensystemen und einen "krummen" Tor als Eingang. Hier wurde nach der Bauernschlacht bei Frankenhausen (15.5.1525) der Bauernführer Thomas Müntzer gefangengehalten und gefoltert.</p> <p>In Artern sind die St. Veitskirche (einzige Vierungsturmkirche in Mitteldeutschland), das Rathaus (Neobarock) mit Rolandsfigur und der Salinepark mit dem Solefreibad sehenswert.</p> <p>In Ritteburg befindet sich die einzige original rekonstruierte Unstrutschleuse, die bis heute manuell und mit Muskelkraft betrieben wird.</p>

Until 1990, diffusion batteries (the only ones in Europe) and other historic devices were operated here with steam engines, the oldest of which dates from 1882 (visit by appointment only). The sugar factory is about 1.5 km from the entry and exit point at the Oldisleben bridge.</p> <p>For those with a sweet tooth, a visit to the Goethe Schokolatentaler manufactory at the village exit towards Bad Frankenhausen is recommended (also about 1.5 km from the entry and exit point). </p> <p>The water castle in Heldrungen is worth a visit. The Heldrungen water castle (about 2 km from the entry and exit point) is the only fully preserved fortified water castle of French fortress architecture in Germany, with two still functioning water moat systems and a "crooked" gate as entrance. After the Peasants' Battle at Frankenhausen (May 15, 1525), the peasant leader Thomas Müntzer was imprisoned and tortured here.</p> <p>In Artern, the St. Veit Church (the only church with a crossing tower in Central Germany), the town hall (Neo-Baroque) with Roland figure, and the Saline Park with the brine outdoor pool are worth seeing.</p> <p>In Ritteburg, there is the only originally reconstructed Unstrut lock, which is still operated manually and with muscle power today.</p>

Für Naschkatzen empfielt sich ein Besuch in der Goethe Schokolatentaler Manufaktur am Ortsausgang Richtung Bad Frankenhausen (ebenfalls ca. 1,5 km von der Ein- und Ausstiegstelle entfernt).  In Heldrungen ist die Wasserburg einen Besuch wert. Die Wasserburg Heldrungen (ca. 2 km von der Ein- und Ausstiegsstelle entfernt) ist die einzige vollständig erhaltene befestigte Wasserburg französischer Festungsbaukunst in Deutschland mit zwei heute noch funktionierenden Wassergabensystemen und einen "krummen" Tor als Eingang. Hier wurde nach der Bauernschlacht bei Frankenhausen (15.5.1525) der Bauernführer Thomas Müntzer gefangengehalten und gefoltert. In Artern sind die St. Veitskirche (einzige Vierungsturmkirche in Mitteldeutschland), das Rathaus (Neobarock) mit Rolandsfigur und der Salinepark mit dem Solefreibad sehenswert. In Ritteburg befindet sich die einzige original rekonstruierte Unstrutschleuse, die bis heute manuell und mit Muskelkraft betrieben wird.
