Le chemin quitte le petit village de Lichtenhain en dessous de la station supérieure du téléphérique. Après avoir passé sous la pente abrupte du téléphérique, il est possible de voir les mouvements des différentes voitures du téléphérique. C’est particulièrement attractif en été, par beau temps, quand le wagon ouvert, appelé Cabrio, est utilisé sur la plateforme de fret. Le chemin longe ensuite la cabane de contes du Petit Bonhomme de sable, passe à travers une forêt haute variée, puis longe la lisière de la forêt et les pâturages jusqu’au terrain d’entraînement pour chiens. Un sentier court et en descente à travers la forêt conduit à une zone de pâturage où le chemin les traverse ensuite en montée à travers les pâturages des bisons. Protégés par des clôtures, on peut admirer ces animaux impressionnants qui ont vécu encore comme animaux sauvages dans nos forêts il y a 500 ans. Grâce à l’élevage, ils ont été sauvés de l’extinction et aujourd’hui, ils recommencent à être réintroduits en Europe. En Allemagne, dans la région de la Rothaar, cela a été fait en 2013 avec un petit groupe de ces plus grands herbivores terrestres de notre continent. Un panneau indique ensuite la direction vers l’enclos de daims - il est toujours intéressant de voir les daims et leurs femelles élevés ici ainsi que la forte progéniture présente. À travers la zone de pâturage, qui offre des conditions idéales pour une élevage saine et proche de la nature aux troupeaux de bovins de la société Natur-Fleisch GmbH "Rennsteig" Oberweißbach, le chemin retourne vers Lichtenhain. Ici, à proximité immédiate de la taverne de la forêt Falkenblick, se trouvent les installations du chemin de fer forestier de Lichtenhain, un chemin de fer à voie étroite de 600 millimètres. Il est souvent possible de faire un court trajet avec ce train les samedis et jours fériés. À côté, se trouve également le point de correspondance entre la piste raide et la piste plate du téléphérique, qui offre beaucoup à voir pour les visiteurs techniquement intéressés et les usagers du téléphérique. De là, le chemin mène à la forêt Fröbel. Dans cette parcelle de forêt sur la colline Falkenhügel, un sentier d’expérience forestière avec plusieurs stations intéressantes est en cours d’aménagement depuis 2013. Friedrich Fröbel, né à Oberweißbach, a fondé en 1840 le premier jardin d’enfants. Il pensait que les enfants devraient s’approprier leur environnement naturel par le jeu. Les stations déjà créées et en projet dans la forêt Fröbel reprennent ces idées et offrent ainsi beaucoup d’espace pour l’épanouissement du besoin d’activité et de jeu chez l’enfant. Après la forêt Fröbel, il ne reste plus beaucoup de chemin jusqu’au point de départ de la randonnée, point de départ de ce parcours.  Tampons de randonnée Sur ces itinéraires circulaires, vous pouvez collecter des tampons de randonnée numériques pour votre certificat personnel de randonnée. The path leaves the small village of Lichtenhain beneath the cable car mountain station. After passing under the steep section of the cable car, there is the opportunity to experience the ups and downs of the different cable car carriages. This is especially attractive when, in the summer months with good weather, the goods platform with the open-topped carriage, called Cabrio, is in use. Passing Sandmann's Fairy Tale Hut, the path first leads through a varied high forest, then along the forest edge and pastures to the dog training area. On a short, steeply downhill forest path, you reach the pasture area where the meadow path again goes uphill through the pastures of the bison. Protected by wire fences, you can admire these huge animals here, which were still found as wild animals in our forests 500 years ago. They were saved from extinction through breeding, and nowadays efforts are again underway to release them into the wild in Europe. This also took place in Germany in 2013 in the Rothaar Mountains with a small group of these largest herbivorous land animals on our continent. From the pasture area, a signpost points to the fallow deer enclosure – it is always interesting to look at the fallow deer and does bred here, as well as the plentiful young animals. Continuing through the pasture area, which provides the cattle herds of Natur-Fleisch GmbH “Rennsteig” Oberweißbach with ideal conditions for healthy and natural rearing, the path leads back to Lichtenhain. Here, in the immediate vicinity of the forest inn Falkenblick, you will find the facilities of the Lichtenhain forest railway—a narrow-gauge railway with a 600-millimeter gauge. On Saturdays and public holidays, it’s often possible to enjoy a short ride on this railway. Besides that, there is also the transfer point from the cable car’s steep section to the flat section, which offers much of interest to technically interested visitors and users of the cable car. From here the path leads into Fröbel Forest. In this forest area on Falken Hill, since 2013 a forest experience trail with several interesting stations has been developed. Friedrich Fröbel, who was born in Oberweißbach, founded the first kindergarten in 1840. He believed that children should acquire their natural environment through play. The stations already created and those still to come in Fröbel Forest adopt these ideas and thus offer plenty of space for the development of children's activity and play drive. After Fröbel Forest it is not far back to the starting point of the hike. Hiking stamps – On these circular trails you can collect digital hiking stamps for your personal hiking certificate. Der Weg verlässt unterhalb der Bergstation der Bergbahn  den kleinen Ort Lichtenhain. Nach Unterquerung der Steilstrecke der Bergbahn bietet sich die Möglichkeit,  das Auf und Ab der unterschiedlichen Wagen der Bergbahn zu  erleben. Besonders attraktiv ist dies, wenn in den Sommermonaten bei schönem Wetter die Güterbühne mit dem nach oben offenen Aufsatzwagen, Cabrio genannt, zum Einsatz kommt. An der  Sandmanns-Märchenhütte vorbei führt der Weg zuerst durch einen abwechslungsreichen Hochwald, dann zwischen Waldrand und Weideflächen entlang  zum Hundedressurplatz.  Auf einem kurzen, steil abwärts durch den Wald führenden Pfad, gelangt man in das Weidegebiet, in dem der Wiesenweg wieder aufwärts durch die Weiden der Wisente führt. Geschützt durch Drahtzäune kann man hier die gewaltigen Tiere bewundern, die vor 500 Jahren noch in unseren Wäldern als Wildtiere anzutreffen waren.  Durch Zucht wurden sie vorm Aussterben gerettet und heute beginnt man wieder, sie in Europa auszuwildern. Auch in Deutschland, im Rothaargebirge, geschah dies 2013 mit einer kleinen Gruppe dieser sich vegetarisch ernährenden größten Landtiere unseres Kontinents. Vom Weidegebiet weist ein Wegweiser zum Damwildgehege - und es ist immer wieder interessant, sich die hier gezüchteten Damhirsche und Kühe und auch den reichlich vorhandenen Nachwuchs anzusehen. Weiter durch das Weidegebiet, das den Rinderherden der Natur-Fleisch GmbH "Rennsteig" Oberweißbach ideale Bedingungen für eine gesunde und naturnahe Aufzucht bietet, führt der Weg zurück nach Lichtenhain. Hier trifft  man in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft zur Waldgaststätte Falkenblick auf die Anlagen der Lichtenhainer Waldeisenbahn, einer Schmalspurbahn mit 600 Milimeter Spurweite. Samstags und zu Feiertagen ist es oft möglich, eine kurze Fahrstrecke mit dieser Bahn zu genießen.  Daneben befindet sich auch der Umsteigepunkt von der Steilstrecke der Bergbahn zur Flachstrecke, der für technisch interessierte Besucher und Nutzer der Bergbahn einiges zu bieten hat. Von hier führt der Weg in den Fröbelwald. In diesem Waldstück auf dem Falkenhügel wird seit 2013 ein Walderlebnispfad mit mehreren interessanten Stationen angelegt. Friedrich Fröbel, der in Oberweißbach geboren wurde, gründete 1840 den ersten Kindergarten. Er vertrat die Auffassung, dass Kinder sich ihre natürliche Umwelt im Spiel aneignen sollten. Die bereits geschaffenen und noch entstehenden Stationen im Fröbelwald greifen diese Ideen auf und bieten somit viel Raum für die Entfaltung des kindlichen Tätigkeits- und Spieltriebs.
