Zwei bis drei Tage Zeit sollten Wanderer schon mitbringen, um ihn komplett abzulaufen. Wer weniger ehrgeizig ist, kann den Weg auch Stückchen für Stückchen ganz entspannt erwandern. Der ziegelrote Hohe-Schrecke-Baum leitet Sie durch die urwüchsigen Wälder der Hohen Schrecke und Beichlinger Schmücke und passiert charmante Dörfer rund um die Hügelkette. Immer wieder bieten sich weite Ausblicke in die Unstrutaue auf der einen und ins Thüringer Becken auf der anderen Seite. Das Schöne am Großen Hohe-Schrecke-Rundweg ist sein Abwechslungsreichtum: Felder, Wälder und Wiesen, aber auch versteckte Täler und den dichten, urwüchsigen Wald im Wiegental streift die Route. Der Weg ist nicht barrierefrei. Es sei darauf hingewiesen, dass sich am Wanderweg direkt nur wenige Versorgungsmöglichkeiten befinden, in der näheren Umgebung lassen sich allerdings mehrere Verpflegungsorte finden. Denken Sie für unterwegs an ausreichend Wanderverpflegung. Mehrere Rastplätze laden zu gemütlichem Picknick ein.  ACHTUNG: Aufgrund von Bauarbeiten besteht momentan im Ort Hauteroda eine Umleitung. Bitte folgen Sie der Ausschilderung.

Hikers should allow two to three days to walk the entire route. Those less ambitious can also take the path piece by piece at a relaxed pace. The brick-red Hohe-Schrecke tree guides you through the primeval forests of the Hohe Schrecke and Beichlingen Schmücke and passes charming villages around the hill ridge. Time and again, there are wide views into the Unstrut floodplain on one side and the Thuringian Basin on the other. The beauty of the Great Hohe-Schrecke Circular Route is its variety: fields, forests and meadows, but also hidden valleys and the dense, primeval forest in the Wiegental are touched by the route. The path is not barrier-free. It should be noted that there are few supply options directly on the hiking trail, but several places to eat can be found in the vicinity. Think of enough hiking provisions for the journey. Several rest areas invite you to a cozy picnic.  WARNING: Due to construction work, there is currently a detour in the village of Hauteroda. Please follow the signs.

Les randonneurs devraient prévoir deux à trois jours pour parcourir entièrement ce sentier. Ceux qui sont moins ambitieux peuvent le parcourir morceau par morceau de manière détendue. L'arbre Hohe-Schrecke rouge brique vous guide à travers les forêts primitives de la Hohe Schrecke et de la Beichlinger Schmücke et traverse des villages charmants autour de la chaîne de collines. De temps en temps, vous avez de larges vues sur la vallée de l'Unstrut d'un côté et sur le bassin de Thuringe de l'autre. Pensez à emporter suffisamment de provisions pour la randonnée. Plusieurs aires de repos invitent à un pique-nique chaleureux. ATTENTION : En raison de travaux, une déviation existe actuellement dans le village de Hauteroda. Veuillez suivre la signalisation.

Es empfiehlt sich, den Großen Rundweg im Uhrzeigersinn zu begehen, um das Auf und Ab mit insgesamt etwas über 1.000 Höhenmetern kräftesparend zu meistern. Die Markierung entlang des Weges ist der Hohe-Schrecke-Baum in ziegelrot. Diese Wegbeschreibung nimmt das ehemalige Zisterzienserinnenkloster in Donndorf als Startpunkt. Die geschnitzte Fledermaus am Infopunkt ist ein Hinweis darauf, dass die Hohe Schrecke zu den fledermausreichsten Wäldern Deutschlands zählt. Alle in Thüringen vorkommenden Waldfledermausarten sind hier beheimatet, da sie in der Hohen Schrecke naturnahe Waldstrukturen mit alten Bäumen voller Risse und Baumhöhlen finden. Folgen Sie den Wegweisern und dem Tal waldwärts nach Langenroda. Nach ca. 2 km haben Sie am überdachten Rastplatz einen schönen Blick über die Unstrutaue bis zur Burg Wendelstein. Weiter geht es ins malerische Garnbach. Am Beginn des Leintals können Sie große Holzskulpturen im Freiluftatelier von Familie Krüger bewundern, bevor sich die Landschaft wieder wandelt und Sie in den Wildnisbereich an der ehemaligen Schießbahn kommen. Hier im Brunftrevier der Rothirsche geht auch der seltene Schwarzstorch auf Nahrungssuche und Brautschau. Ein hunderte Hektar großes Areal, in dem die Natur sich selbst überlassen bleibt. Aus dem Leintal aufsteigend erreicht man den Hohe-Schrecke-Kamm mit Kammweg und folgt ihm ein Stückchen nach Südosten, bevor man in Richtung Finnberg abzweigt und an dessen Südhang entlangwandert. Der Weg führt hier durch Buchenmischwald und artenreiche Streuobst- und Orchideenwiesen. Über die Beichlinger Schmücke und Hauteroda kehren Sie zurück in den Alten Wald der Hohen Schrecke und erleben eine weitere Kostprobe urwüchsigen Waldes auf einem Abschnitt des Wiegental-Wildnisweges mit seinen bis zu 200 Jahre alten Buchen. Die Eichen hier sind sogar noch eine Menschengeneration älter. Dann verlassen Sie den Wald und es geht abwärts über eine Wiese Richtung Kleinroda, dem Ziel dieser außergewöhnlichen Route.

Hier im Brunftrevier der Rothirsche geht auch der seltene Schwarzstorch auf Nahrungssuche und Brautschau. Ein hunderte Hektar großes Areal, in dem die Natur sich selbst überlassen bleibt.</p> <p>Aus dem Leintal aufsteigend erreicht man den Hohe-Schrecke-Kamm mit Kammweg und folgt ihm ein Stückchen nach Südosten, bevor man in Richtung Finnberg abzweigt und an dessen Südhang entlangwandert. Der Weg führt hier durch Buchenmischwald und artenreiche Streuobst- und Orchideenwiesen. Über die Beichlinger Schmücke und Hauteroda kehren Sie zurück in den Alten Wald der Hohen Schrecke und erleben eine weitere Kostprobe urwüchsigen Waldes auf einem Abschnitt des Wiegental-Wildnisweges mit seinen bis zu 200 Jahre alten Buchen.
