Depuis le parking du barrage, on rejoint Hohenwarte via la passerelle sur la Saale qui traverse le bassin inférieur et offre une vue magnifique sur le barrage. En restant ensuite au bord du bassin inférieur vers les remontées mécaniques, le chemin passe devant le centre nautique jusqu'à l'aire de jeux et de sport. Cette dernière offre, outre l'escalade, le creusage, le mini-golf (18 trous), le tennis, le football, le beach-volley, etc., également quelque chose pour les invités affamés dans le "Imbisscafé ScHoGo". Un peu à l'écart du H4, dans la maison administrative de la centrale au fil de l'eau, vous obtenez des informations sur la production d'énergie dans un petit centre d'information. Le chemin continue ensuite en traversant la rue principale vers le cimetière, dans la forêt jusqu'au bunker de la RDA et plus loin jusqu'à l'église. De là, il y a une connexion aux sentiers circulaires H3 et H5. Un petit bout le long de la Preßwitzer Straße en direction du barrage ramène vers la passerelle sur la Saale et remonte vers le parking. Sur la Preßwitzer Straße, la cabane de pêche invite à un verre, le restaurant zum Saaletal et le café Auszeit invitent à la détente. Depuis le parking de randonnée au barrage, vous accédez directement à la navigation passagers Hohenwarte pour une croisière sur le lac de barrage. Environ 100 m plus loin se trouve la location de bateaux pour explorer le lac de barrage à votre rythme.

From the Staumauer parking lot, you get over the Saale footbridge crossing the lower basin offering a magnificent view of the dam to Hohenwarte. Staying at the lower basin towards the pipe railways, the path passes the boat center to the playground and sports field, which offers climbing, digging, mini-golf (18 holes), tennis, soccer, beach volleyball, etc., and something for hungry guests in the “Imbisscafé ScHoGo.” Slightly off the H4 in the PSW administration building, a small info center provides information on energy generation. The path continues over the main road to the cemetery, into the forest to the DDR bunker, and further to the church. From here, there is a connection to the circular hiking trails H3 & H5. A small section along Preßwitzer Straße towards the dam leads back down to the Saale footbridge and up to the parking lot. On Preßwitzer Straße, the angling hut invites you for a drink, the inn “zum Saaletal,” and Café Auszeit for relaxation. From the hiking parking lot at the dam, you immediately reach the Hohenwarte passenger boat service for a reservoir tour. About 100 meters further is the boat rental to explore the reservoir on your own.

Vom Parkplatz Staumauer aus gelangt man über den Saalesteg der über das Unterbecken führt und einen großartigen Blick auf die Staumauer zulässt, nach Hohenwarte. Bleibt man danach am Unterbecken in Richtung der Rohrbahnen führt der Weg am Bootscenter vorbei zum Spiel-& Sportplatz. Der neben klettern, buddeln, Minigolf (18 Loch), Tennis, Fußball, Beachvolleyball etc. auch für hungrige Gäste etwas zu bieten hat, im "Imbißcafe´ ScHoGo". Etwas abseits vom H4 im Verwaltungshaus vom PSW erhält man in einem kleinen Infocentrum Auskunft zur Energiegewinnung . Weiter führt der Weg über die Hauptstraße zum Friedhof hinein in den Wald zum DDR Bunker und weiter bis zur Kirche. Ab hier gibt es eine Anbindung zu den Rundwanderwegen H3 & H5. Ein kleines Stück an der Preßwitzer Straße entlang Richtung Staumauer gelangt man wieder hinunter zum Saalesteg und hoch zum Parkplatz. Auf der Preßwitzer Straße lädt die Angelhütte zum Schoppen, die Gaststätte zum Saaletal und das Cafe` Auszeit zum verweilen ein. Vom Wanderparkplatz an der Staumauer aus gelangen Sie sofort zur Fahrgastschifffahrt Hohenwarte für eine Rundfahrt auf dem Stausee. Circa 100m weiter geht es zum Bootsverleih erkunden Sie auf eigene Faust den Stausee.

Along the lower basin, you reach the playground and sports field with a mini-golf course. From here, continue up to the main road. Cross it and go past the cemetery into the forest to the bunker. A romantic forest path continues to the church. From here, there is a connection to the circular hiking trails H3 & H5.
