<p>Wir steigen am Haltepunkt Zwota in die Vogtlandbahn und fahren bis zum Haltepunkt Schöneck-IFA- Ferienpark „Hohe Reuth“ und sind am Ausgangspunkt unserer Wanderung. Wir gehen auf dem Kammweg (rote/blaue Markierung) in Richtung Wohlbach und zur Quelle der Zwota, erreichen den Kirchsteig Oberzwota-Schöneck mit (gelber) Markierung.</p>
<p> Wir gehen links (gelb) später bei der ehemaligen Kärrnerstraße (gelber Punkt), Richtung des Quellgebietes in den „Faulen Wiesen“ und der Quelle des Zwotabaches. Das Moor dort hat eine Auflage von ca. 30 – 50 cm. Dabei überqueren wir die Kärrnerstraße. Wir kommen zur Quelle und anschließend zum Mühlteich. Dieser gehörte zur Mühle in Gunzen. Als Sühne musste ein Täter vom Mühlteich in Richtung Gunzen einen Graben (den Mordgraben) schaffen, der das Wasser der Zwota in westliche Richtung über die Mühle in Gunzen zur Weißen Elster leitete.</p>
<p> Wir laufen auf gelber Markierung nach Zwotental. Im Volksmund und beim Forst wird dieser Weg auch „Leichenwagenweg“ oder „Leichenweg“ genannt, weil früher Oberzwota zum Kirchspiel Schöneck gehörte und somit die Verstorbenen in Schöneck beerdigt wurden. Wir kommen nach Zwotental. Hier war ein wichtiger Schnittpunkt der Eisenbahnlinie, die von Bayern über Adorf-Aue bis ins Industriegebiet Chemnitz führte und die Kohlenvorkommen im böhmischen Falkenau (heute Sokolov), deren Kohle über Klingenthal nach Sachsen geliefert wurde, verband.</p>
<p> Der Bahnhof Zwotental wurde am 15. November 1875 mit Eröffnung der Linie Chemnitz-Aue-Adorf eingeweiht. Ab 1892 war er zudem Kreuzungspunkt der Linie Falkenau-Klingenthal-Herlasgrün/Reichenbach.</p>
<p> Der Bahnhof führte verschiedene Namen.</p>
<p> Bis 30. September 1902: Zwota</p>
<p> Ab 1. Oktober 1902: Zwota Bahnhof</p>
<p> Ab 1. Mai 1909: Zwotental</p>
<p>Der Bahnhof verfügte in der Zeit seiner größten Bedeutung für den Verkehr über zwei Stellwerke, acht durchgehende Gleise, 22 Weichen und fünf Bahnsteige. 1906 kamen mehr als 300.000 Tonnen Kohle aus dem Falkenauer Revier. Um die Steigung nach Schöneck zu überwinden fuhren die Züge mit Vorspannloks. In den 1980er Jahren gab es Pläne, Zwotental als Containerbahnhof für den grenzüberschreitenden Verkehr mit der damaligen CSSR auszubauen. Der Rückbau der Bahnanlage erfolgte 1996/97. </p>
<p> Der Bahnhof hatte auch eine Gaststätte mit Vereinszimmer. Durch ein Fenster wurden Speisen und Getränke auf den Bahnsteigen verkauft.</p>
<p> Es gab noch eine zweite Gaststätte, den „Gasthof Zwotental“, Bahnstraße 7 (heute „Tier-Heilpraxis“).</p>
<p> Ein paar Worte zur Gaststätte:</p>
<p>Das Gebäude wurde 1881 von Ernst Eduard Wunderlich aus Adorf errichtet. Ab 1883 war es ein kleiner Lebensmittelladen, 1889 wurde der Gaststättenbetrieb genehmigt. 1896 übernahm Friedrich Hirsch, bisher Pächter des Tannenhauses bei Schöneck, die Gastwirtschaft. Nach dessen Tod führte die Wirtin den Betrieb bis 1925 weiter. 1926 kaufte Martin Reichelt die Gaststätte, die dann bis 1961 durch seine Tochter Ursula Stengel betrieben wurde. Danach nutzte der VEB „Textilwerke Palla“ das Gebäude bis 1991 als Ferienheim. 1997 kauften es die heutigen Besitzer. Neben der Gaststätte war noch ein Fußballplatz, der bei der Jugend von Zechenbach, Oberzwota und Zwotental sehr beliebt war.</p>
<p> Von Zwotental führt unser Weg auf der Bahnstraße (gelber Punkt) nach Oberzwota. Wir kommen zum Wolfsbach (heute Grenze von Klingenthal zu Schöneck), dort stand früher vor 1567 eine Schneidmühle.</p>
<p> Auf der linken Seite bei der Einmündung Kottenheider Straße (ehemals „Gasthof Oberzwota“, auch „Eberts Gasthof“ genannt) befand sich das obere Hammerwerk (westlichster Standort eines Hammerwerkes des Erzgebirges). (Nähere Erläuterungen findet man auf der Informationstafel).</p>
<p> Wir laufen auf der Bahnhofstraße bis zum Haltepunkt der Vogtlandbahn Zwota-Zechenbach.</p>
<p> Dort setzen wir unsere Wanderung auf dem Alten Weg fort. Auf der rechten Seite sehen wir im Tal den Zwotabach, der die natürliche Grenze zwischen Erzgebirge und Elstergebirge bildet und laufen weiter bis zum Endpunkt unserer Tour, dem Hammerplatz.</p> |

La tourbière possède une couche d'environ 30 à 50 cm. Nous traversons la Kährnerstraße à ce niveau. Nous arrivons à la source, puis à l’étang du moulin. Celui-ci appartenait au moulin de Gunzen. En guise d’expiation, un coupable dut creuser, depuis l’étang du moulin vers Gunzen, un fossé appelé le Mordgraben, qui conduisait l’eau de la Zwota en direction ouest via le moulin de Gunzen jusqu’à la Weißen Elster.</p>
<p> Nous continuons sur le marquage jaune jusqu’à Zwotental. Ce chemin est appelé localement ou par les forestiers le „chemin du corbillard“ car autrefois Oberzwota appartenait à la paroisse de Schöneck, où les défunts étaient enterrés. Nous arrivons à Zwotental. Ce lieu fut un carrefour important pour la ligne de chemin de fer qui reliait la Bavière via Adorf-Aue à la zone industrielle de Chemnitz et connectait les gisements de charbon de Falkenau en Bohême (aujourd’hui Sokolov), dont le charbon était livré par Klingenthal en Saxe.</p>
<p> La gare de Zwotental fut inaugurée le 15 novembre 1875 avec l'ouverture de la ligne Chemnitz-Aue-Adorf. Dès 1892, elle devint aussi un point de croisement pour la ligne Falkenau-Klingenthal-Herlasgrün/Reichenbach.</p>

<p>À son apogée, la gare disposait de deux postes de commande, huit voies principales, 22 aiguillages et cinq quais. En 1906, plus de 300 000 tonnes de charbon arrivaient de la région de Falkenau. Pour surmonter la montée vers Schöneck, les trains utilisaient des locomotives d’appoint. Dans les années 1980, il fut envisagé d’aménager Zwotental en gare de conteneurs pour le trafic transfrontalier avec l’ancienne Tchécoslovaquie. Le démantèlement des installations ferroviaires eut lieu en 1996/97.</p>
<p> La gare comprenait également un restaurant avec une salle pour les associations. Par une fenêtre, on y vendait des plats et boissons sur les quais.</p>
<p> Il y avait un second restaurant, le „Gasthof Zwotental“, Bahnstraße 7 (aujourd’hui „Tier-Heilpraxis“).</p>
<p> Quelques mots sur ce restaurant :</p>

En 1926, Martin Reichelt acheta l’établissement, qui fut exploité jusque 1961 par sa fille Ursula Stengel. Ensuite, le VEB „Textilwerke Palla“ utilisa le bâtiment comme maison de vacances jusqu’en 1991. Les propriétaires actuels l’ont acquis en 1997. À côté du restaurant se trouvait également un terrain de football très apprécié par la jeunesse de Zechenbach, Oberzwota et Zwotental.</p>
<p> Depuis Zwotental, notre chemin suit la Bahnstraße (point jaune) vers Oberzwota. Nous arrivons au Wolfsbach (aujourd’hui frontière entre Klingenthal et Schöneck), où se trouvait avant 1567 un moulin à couper.</p>
<p> Sur la gauche, à l’embranchement de la Kottenheider Straße (anciennement „Gasthof Oberzwota“, également appelé „Eberts Gasthof“), se situait la forge supérieure (le site le plus à l’ouest d’une forge dans l’Erzgebirge). (Des explications plus détaillées sont visibles sur le panneau d’information).</p>
<p> Nous suivons la Bahnhofstraße jusqu’au point d’arrêt de la Vogtlandbahn Zwota-Zechenbach.</p>
<p> Là, nous poursuivons notre randonnée sur l’Ancien Chemin. Sur la droite, dans la vallée, nous voyons le Zwotabach, qui constitue la frontière naturelle entre l’Erzgebirge et l’Elstergebirge, et continuons jusqu’au point final de notre parcours, le Hammerplatz.</p> |

<p>We board the Vogtlandbahn at Zwota stop and travel to the Schöneck-IFA-Ferienpark "Hohe Reuth" stop, which is the starting point of our hike. We walk on the ridge path (red/blue markings) towards Wohlbach and to the source of the Zwota, reaching the Oberzwota-Schöneck church path with (yellow) markings.</p>
<p> We go left (yellow) later at the former Kärrnerstraße (yellow dot), in the direction of the source area into the "Faulen Wiesen" and the source of the Zwotabach. The moor there has a layer of approximately 30 – 50 cm. We cross the Kärrnerstraße. We reach the source and then the mill pond. This belonged to the mill in Gunzen. As atonement, a perpetrator had to dig a ditch (the murder ditch) from the mill pond toward Gunzen, which directed the water of the Zwota westward over the mill in Gunzen to the Weißen Elster.</p>
<p> We walk following the yellow marking to Zwotental. In popular speech and forestry, this path is also called "hearse path" or "corpse path" because Oberzwota used to belong to the Schöneck parish, and thus the deceased were buried in Schöneck. We arrive in Zwotental. This was an important junction of the railway line, which led from Bavaria via Adorf-Aue to the Chemnitz industrial area and connected the coal deposits in Bohemian Falkenau (today Sokolov), whose coal was delivered to Saxony via Klingenthal.</p>

<p>The station had, at the height of its importance for traffic, two signal boxes, eight through tracks, 22 switches, and five platforms. In 1906, more than 300,000 tons of coal came from the Falkenau mining district. To overcome the incline to Schöneck, trains ran with banking locomotives. In the 1980s, there were plans to develop Zwotental as a container station for cross-border traffic with the former CSSR. The dismantling of the railway facility took place in 1996/97.</p>
<p> The station also had a restaurant with a club room. Food and drinks were sold on the platforms through a window.</p>

À son apogée, la gare disposait de deux postes de commande, huit voies principales, 22 aiguillages et cinq quais. En 1906, plus de 300 000 tonnes de charbon arrivaient de la région de Falkenau. Pour surmonter la montée vers Schöneck, les trains utilisaient des locomotives d’appoint. Dans les années 1980, il fut envisagé d’aménager Zwotental en gare de conteneurs pour le trafic transfrontalier avec l’ancienne Tchécoslovaquie. Le démantèlement des installations ferroviaires eut lieu en 1996/97.
La gare comprenait également un restaurant avec une salle pour les associations. Par une fenêtre, on y vendait des plats et boissons sur les quais.
Il y avait un second restaurant, le „Gasthof Zwotental“, Bahnstraße 7 (aujourd’hui „Tier-Heilpraxis“).
Quelques mots sur ce restaurant :
Le bâtiment fut construit en 1881 par Ernst Eduard Wunderlich d’Adorf. Dès 1883, il abritait une petite épicerie, puis l’exploitation du restaurant fut autorisée en 1889. En 1896, Friedrich Hirsch, jusqu’alors locataire de la maison de sapins près de Schöneck, reprit le restaurant. Après son décès, la tenancière continua jusqu’en 1925. En 1926, Martin Reichelt acheta l’établissement, qui fut exploité jusque 1961 par sa fille Ursula Stengel. Ensuite, le VEB „Textilwerke Palla“ utilisa le bâtiment comme maison de vacances jusqu’en 1991. Les propriétaires actuels l’ont acquis en 1997. À côté du restaurant se trouvait également un terrain de football très apprécié par la jeunesse de Zechenbach, Oberzwota et Zwotental.
Depuis Zwotental, notre chemin suit la Bahnstraße (point jaune) vers Oberzwota. Nous arrivons au Wolfsbach (aujourd’hui frontière entre Klingenthal et Schöneck), où se trouvait avant 1567 un moulin à couper.
Sur la gauche, à l’embranchement de la Kottenheider Straße (anciennement „Gasthof Oberzwota“, également appelé „Eberts Gasthof“), se situait la forge supérieure (le site le plus à l’ouest d’une forge dans l’Erzgebirge). (Des explications plus détaillées sont visibles sur le panneau d’information).
Nous suivons la Bahnhofstraße jusqu’au point d’arrêt de la Vogtlandbahn Zwota-Zechenbach.
Là, nous poursuivons notre randonnée sur l’Ancien Chemin. Sur la droite, dans la vallée, nous voyons le Zwotabach, qui constitue la frontière naturelle entre l’Erzgebirge et l’Elstergebirge, et continuons jusqu’au point final de notre parcours, le Hammerplatz. |

We board the Vogtlandbahn at Zwota stop and travel to the Schöneck-IFA-Ferienpark "Hohe Reuth" stop, which is the starting point of our hike. We walk on the ridge path (red/blue markings) towards Wohlbach and to the source of the Zwota, reaching the Oberzwota-Schöneck church path with (yellow) markings.
We go left (yellow) later at the former Kärrnerstraße (yellow dot), in the direction of the source area into the "Faulen Wiesen" and the source of the Zwotabach. The moor there has a layer of approximately 30 – 50 cm. We cross the Kärrnerstraße. We reach the source and then the mill pond. This belonged to the mill in Gunzen. As atonement, a perpetrator had to dig a ditch (the murder ditch) from the mill pond toward Gunzen, which directed the water of the Zwota westward over the mill in Gunzen to the Weißen Elster.
We walk following the yellow marking to Zwotental. In popular speech and forestry, this path is also called "hearse path" or "corpse path" because Oberzwota used to belong to the Schöneck parish, and thus the deceased were buried in Schöneck. We arrive in Zwotental. This was an important junction of the railway line, which led from Bavaria via Adorf-Aue to the Chemnitz industrial area and connected the coal deposits in Bohemian Falkenau (today Sokolov), whose coal was delivered to Saxony via Klingenthal.
The Zwotental station was inaugurated on November 15, 1875, with the opening of the Chemnitz-Aue-Adorf line. From 1892, it was also a junction point of the Falkenau-Klingenthal-Herlasgrün/Reichenbach line.
The station had various names.
Until September 30, 1902: Zwota
From October 1, 1902: Zwota Bahnhof
From May 1, 1909: Zwotental
The station had, at the height of its importance for traffic, two signal boxes, eight through tracks, 22 switches, and five platforms. In 1906, more than 300,000 tons of coal came from the Falkenau mining district. To overcome the incline to Schöneck, trains ran with banking locomotives. In the 1980s, there were plans to develop Zwotental as a container station for cross-border traffic with the former CSSR. The dismantling of the railway facility took place in 1996/97.
The station also had a restaurant with a club room. Food and drinks were sold on the platforms through a window.
There was also a second restaurant, the "Gasthof Zwotental," Bahnstraße 7 (today "Tier-Heilpraxis").
A few words about the restaurant:
The building was constructed in 1881 by Ernst Eduard Wunderlich from Adorf. From 1883, it was a small grocery store; in 1889, the restaurant operation was approved. In 1896, Friedrich Hirsch, previously tenant of the Tannenhaus near Schöneck, took over the restaurant. After his death, the hostess continued the operation until 1925. In 1926, Martin Reichelt bought the restaurant, which was then operated until 1961 by his daughter Ursula Stengel. Afterwards, the VEB "Textilwerke Palla" used the building as a holiday home until 1991. The current owners bought it in 1997. Besides the restaurant, there was a football field that was very popular among the youth from Zechenbach, Oberzwota, and Zwotental.
From Zwotental, our path leads on Bahnstraße (yellow dot) to Oberzwota. We come to the Wolfsbach (today the border between Klingenthal and Schöneck), where a cutting mill stood before 1567.
On the left side at the junction with Kottenheider Straße (formerly "Gasthof Oberzwota," also called "Eberts Gasthof") was the upper hammer mill (the westernmost location of a hammer mill in the Erzgebirge). (Further explanations are found on the information board).
We walk along Bahnhofstraße to the Vogtlandbahn Zwota-Zechenbach stop.
There, we continue our hike on the Alten Weg. On the right side, we see in the valley the Zwotabach, which forms the natural boundary between the Erzgebirge and the Elstergebirge, and continue to the end point of our tour, the Hammerplatz. |

Wir steigen am Haltepunkt Zwota in die Vogtlandbahn und fahren bis zum Haltepunkt Schöneck-IFA- Ferienpark „Hohe Reuth“ und sind am Ausgangspunkt unserer Wanderung. Wir gehen auf dem Kammweg (rote/blaue Markierung) in Richtung Wohlbach und zur Quelle der Zwota, erreichen den Kirchsteig Oberzwota-Schöneck mit (gelber) Markierung.
Wir gehen links (gelb) später bei der ehemaligen Kärrnerstraße (gelber Punkt), Richtung des Quellgebietes in den „Faulen Wiesen“ und der Quelle des Zwotabaches. Das Moor dort hat eine Auflage von ca. 30 – 50 cm. Dabei überqueren wir die Kärrnerstraße. Wir kommen zur Quelle und anschließend zum Mühlteich. Dieser gehörte zur Mühle in Gunzen. Als Sühne musste ein Täter vom Mühlteich in Richtung Gunzen einen Graben (den Mordgraben) schaffen, der das Wasser der Zwota in westliche Richtung über die Mühle in Gunzen zur Weißen Elster leitete.
Wir laufen auf gelber Markierung nach Zwotental. Im Volksmund und beim Forst wird dieser Weg auch „Leichenwagenweg“ oder „Leichenweg“ genannt, weil früher Oberzwota zum Kirchspiel Schöneck gehörte und somit die Verstorbenen in Schöneck beerdigt wurden. Wir kommen nach Zwotental. Hier war ein wichtiger Schnittpunkt der Eisenbahnlinie, die von Bayern über Adorf-Aue bis ins Industriegebiet Chemnitz führte und die Kohlenvorkommen im böhmischen Falkenau (heute Sokolov), deren Kohle über Klingenthal nach Sachsen geliefert wurde, verband.
Der Bahnhof Zwotental wurde am 15. November 1875 mit Eröffnung der Linie Chemnitz-Aue-Adorf eingeweiht. Ab 1892 war er zudem Kreuzungspunkt der Linie Falkenau-Klingenthal-Herlasgrün/Reichenbach.
Der Bahnhof führte verschiedene Namen.
Bis 30. September 1902: Zwota
Ab 1. Oktober 1902: Zwota Bahnhof
Ab 1. Mai 1909: Zwotental
Der Bahnhof verfügte in der Zeit seiner größten Bedeutung für den Verkehr über zwei Stellwerke, acht durchgehende Gleise, 22 Weichen und fünf Bahnsteige. 1906 kamen mehr als 300.000 Tonnen Kohle aus dem Falkenauer Revier. Um die Steigung nach Schöneck zu überwinden fuhren die Züge mit Vorspannloks. In den 1980er Jahren gab es Pläne, Zwotental als Containerbahnhof für den grenzüberschreitenden Verkehr mit der damaligen CSSR auszubauen. Der Rückbau der Bahnanlage erfolgte 1996/97.
Der Bahnhof hatte auch eine Gaststätte mit Vereinszimmer. Durch ein Fenster wurden Speisen und Getränke auf den Bahnsteigen verkauft.
Es gab noch eine zweite Gaststätte, den „Gasthof Zwotental“, Bahnstraße 7 (heute „Tier-Heilpraxis“).
Ein paar Worte zur Gaststätte:
Das Gebäude wurde 1881 von Ernst Eduard Wunderlich aus Adorf errichtet. Ab 1883 war es ein kleiner Lebensmittelladen, 1889 wurde der Gaststättenbetrieb genehmigt. 1896 übernahm Friedrich Hirsch, bisher Pächter des Tannenhauses bei Schöneck, die Gastwirtschaft. Nach dessen Tod führte die Wirtin den Betrieb bis 1925 weiter. 1926 kaufte Martin Reichelt die Gaststätte, die dann bis 1961 durch seine Tochter Ursula Stengel betrieben wurde. Danach nutzte der VEB „Textilwerke Palla“ das Gebäude bis 1991 als Ferienheim. 1997 kauften es die heutigen Besitzer. Neben der Gaststätte war noch ein Fußballplatz, der bei der Jugend von Zechenbach, Oberzwota und Zwotental sehr beliebt war.
Von Zwotental führt unser Weg auf der Bahnstraße (gelber Punkt) nach Oberzwota. Wir kommen zum Wolfsbach (heute Grenze von Klingenthal zu Schöneck), dort stand früher vor 1567 eine Schneidmühle.
Auf der linken Seite bei der Einmündung Kottenheider Straße (ehemals „Gasthof Oberzwota“, auch „Eberts Gasthof“ genannt) befand sich das obere Hammerwerk (westlichster Standort eines Hammerwerkes des Erzgebirges). (Nähere Erläuterungen findet man auf der Informationstafel).
Wir laufen auf der Bahnhofstraße bis zum Haltepunkt der Vogtlandbahn Zwota-Zechenbach.
Dort setzen wir unsere Wanderung auf dem Alten Weg fort. Auf der rechten Seite sehen wir im Tal den Zwotabach, der die natürliche Grenze zwischen Erzgebirge und Elstergebirge bildet und laufen weiter bis zum Endpunkt unserer Tour, dem Hammerplatz. |
