Auf der zweiten Etappe geht es zum ersten Mal richtig hoch her. Am Etappeneinstieg starten Sie Ihre Tour am Waldgasthof & Rennsteighotel Hubertushaus. Vorbei am Ruhlaer Häuschen erreichen Sie alsbald die Schlauchentalwiesen und das Waldhaus Auerhahn. Weiter geht es zum Glöckner. Von hier aus hat man einen herrlichen Blick über den südlichen Thüringer Wald bis nach Bad Liebenstein. Wenig später erreichen Sie die Schillerbuche und den zugehörigen Wanderparkplatz. Am Imbiss "Zur Wallfahrt am Rennsteig" wird neben zahlreichen Lokalspezialitäten auf die klassische Thüringer Bratwurst vom lokalen Fleischer angeboten (aktuell geschlossen). Bald darauf erreichen Sie am Großen Weißenberg den Dreiherrenstein. Auch hier lädt ein kleines uriges Gasthaus zu einer kurzen Rast ein. Der folgende Abschnitt geht steil bergauf bis zum Großen Inselsberg. Vorbei an der Beerberggrotte und dem Wartburgblick erreichen Sie alsbald das große Bergplateau. Hier oben gibt es neben dem Berggasthof Stöhr auch die höchst gelegene Jugendherberge im Freistaat. Wer möchte, kann auf den 21 m hohen Aussichtsturm steigen und einen atemberaubenden Rundblick über den Westlichen Thüringer Wald genießen. Auf dem Inselsberg befindet sich im Übrigen auch der höhste Punkt in ganz Thüringen. Der Berg selber ist zwar nur 916,5 Meter hoch, allerdings ragt die große Sendeantenne nochmals 127 Meter in den Himmel. Nachdem Sie den höchsten Punkt diese Etappe bezwungen haben geht es auf der zweiten Hälfte der Tour stetig bergab. Wer möchte, kann am Kleinen Inselsberg dem FUN-Park einen Besuch abstatten. Die Sommerrodelbahn ist ein echter Hit. An der Gabelwiese und der Waltershäuser Hütte vorbei führt der Rennsteig durch die tiefen Mischwälder weiter über den Großen Jagdberg weiter zum Heuberghaus. Mitten im Wald gelegen ist es einer idyllischsten Orte im ganzen Thüringer Wald. Hier kann man sich übrigens auch in einer Ferienwohnung einmieten. Zum Ende der 23 km langen Tour erreichen Sie die Ebertswiese. ⚠️ Beachten Sie, dass die Übernachtungs und Einkehrmöglichkeiten vor Ort eingeschränkt sind. Das Berghotel bietet aktuell (Stand Mai 2024) keine gastronomischen Leistungen an und ist bis auf Weiteres geschlossen. Informieren Sie sich unbedingt vorab über alternative Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten in den umliegenden Ortschaften. Eine Aufstellung finden Sie in unserem Prospekt "Unterkünfte am Rennsteig". Lors de la deuxième étape, ça monte sérieusement pour la première fois. Au départ de l'étape, démarrez votre parcours au Waldgasthof & Rennsteighotel Hubertushaus. En passant par le Ruhlaer Häuschen, vous atteignez rapidement les prairies de Schlauchental et la maison forestière Auerhahn. Continuez vers le Glöckner. De là, vous avez une vue magnifique sur la forêt de Thuringe méridionale jusqu'à Bad Liebenstein. Peu après, vous atteignez le Schillerbuche et le parking de randonnée associé. Au snack "Zur Wallfahrt am Rennsteig", en plus de nombreuses spécialités locales, la célèbre saucisse grillée de Thuringe est proposée par un boucher local (actuellement fermé). Peu après, au Großer Weißenberg, vous atteignez le Dreiherrenstein. Ici aussi, une petite auberge rustique vous invite à une courte pause. La section suivante monte en pente raide jusqu'au Großer Inselsberg. En passant par la Beerberggrotte et le point de vue sur la Wartburg, vous atteignez rapidement le grand plateau de la montagne. Ici, en plus du Berggasthof Stöhr, se trouve aussi la auberge de jeunesse la plus haute du Land libre. Ceux qui le souhaitent peuvent monter sur la tour d'observation de 21 m de haut pour profiter d'une vue panoramique à couper le souffle sur la forêt de Thuringe occidentale. L'Inselsberg est d'ailleurs le point culminant de toute la Thuringe. La montagne elle-même ne mesure que 916,5 mètres, mais la grande antenne émettrice s'élève encore de 127 mètres dans le ciel. Après avoir franchi le point culminant de cette étape, la deuxième moitié du parcours descend constamment. Ceux qui veulent peuvent visiter le FUN-Park au Kleiner Inselsberg. La piste de luge d'été est un vrai succès. En passant par la Gabelwiese et la cabane Waltershäuser, le Rennsteig traverse les forêts mixtes profondes, continue par le Großer Jagdberg jusqu'au Heuberghaus. Situé en pleine forêt, c'est l'un des endroits les plus idylliques de toute la forêt de Thuringe. On peut également y louer un appartement de vacances. À la fin du parcours de 23 km, vous atteignez l'Ebertswiese. ⚠️ Notez que les possibilités d'hébergement et de restauration sur place sont limitées. L'hôtel de montagne ne propose actuellement (mai 2024) aucun service de restauration et est fermé jusqu'à nouvel ordre. Veuillez absolument vous informer en amont sur les alternatives d'hébergement dans les villages environnants. Une liste est disponible dans notre brochure "Hébergements au Rennsteig". The second stage is the first time you really climb high. At the start of this stage, you begin your route at the Waldgasthof & Rennsteighotel Hubertushaus. Past the Ruhlaer Häuschen you soon reach the Schlauchental meadows and the Auerhahn forest house. Then continue to Glöckner. From here you have a wonderful view of the southern Thuringian Forest all the way to Bad Liebenstein. Shortly afterwards you reach the Schillerbuche and its associated hiking car park. At the snack bar "Zur Wallfahrt am Rennsteig", in addition to numerous local specialties, the classic Thuringian bratwurst from the local butcher is offered (currently closed). Soon after you arrive at the Großer Weißenberg at the Dreiherrenstein. A small rustic inn here invites you for a short rest as well. The following section climbs steeply to the Großer Inselsberg. Past the Beerberg grotto and the Wartburg view, you soon reach the large mountain plateau. Up here you will find, beside the Berggasthof Stöhr, also the highest located youth hostel in the state. If you want, you can climb the 21 m high observation tower and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view over the western Thuringian Forest. Incidentally, the highest point in all of Thuringia is also located on the Inselsberg. The mountain itself is only 916.5 meters high, but the large transmission antenna rises another 127 meters into the sky. After you have conquered the highest point of this stage, the second half of the route steadily goes downhill. If you want, you can visit the FUN park at the Kleiner Inselsberg. The summer toboggan run is a real hit. Past the Gabelwiese and the Waltershausen hut, the Rennsteig continues through the deep mixed forests via Großer Jagdberg to the Heuberghaus. Located in the middle of the forest, it is one of the most idyllic places in the entire Thuringian Forest. By the way, you can also rent a holiday apartment here. At the end of the 23 km long route, you reach the Ebertswiese. ⚠️ Please note that overnight and dining options on site are limited. The mountain hotel currently (as of May 2024) does not offer any catering services and is closed until further notice.
