Der Lehrpfad startet direkt am Naturpark-Tor Friedrichshöhe und folgt anfangs dem bekannten Rennsteig mit seinen historischen Wappensteinen. Die angrenzenden Bergwiesen sind die Heimat der Arnika. Diese gepflegten Wiesen sind im Zusammenhang mit der Errichtung einer Glashütte zu Beginn des 18. Jahrhunderts entstanden und heute die Heimat vieler besonders geschützter Tiere und Pflanzen. An der „Meilerhütte“ finden Sie Informationen zur Waldköhlerei, deren Spuren und Relikte auf den umliegenden Bergen noch heute zahlreich zu finden sind. Entlang des Wege laden Ruhebänke zur Entspannung ein. Im Ort Friedrichshöhe befindet sich eine Gaststätte sowie Pensionen und Ferienhäuser. Im Naturparkzentrum gibt es eine kleine Ausstellung und eine Dia-Ton-Schau. Der Lehrpfad steigt schließlich vom Naturparkzentrum über einen Forstweg leicht bergan zur Bärwurzwiese und das Moor. Über den Moorsteg gelangen Sie wieder zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.

Le sentier pédagogique commence directement à la porte du parc naturel de Friedrichshöhe et suit d’abord le célèbre Rennsteig avec ses pierres de blason historiques. Les prairies de montagne adjacentes sont le lieu de vie de l’arnica. Ces prairies soignées sont nées en lien avec la construction d’un verrerie au début du XVIIIe siècle et abritent aujourd’hui de nombreux animaux et plantes particulièrement protégés. À la „Meilerhütte“, vous trouverez des informations sur la charbonnerie forestière, dont les traces et vestiges sont encore nombreux sur les montagnes environnantes. Des bancs le long du chemin invitent à la détente. À Friedrichshöhe, il y a un restaurant ainsi que des pensions et des maisons de vacances. Au centre du parc naturel, une petite exposition et un diaporama sonore sont proposés. Le sentier pédagogique monte ensuite doucement du centre du parc naturel par un chemin forestier jusqu’à la prairie Bärwurz et la tourbière. Via la passerelle de la tourbière, vous revenez au point de départ.

The educational trail starts directly at the Nature Park gate Friedrichshöhe and initially follows the well-known Rennsteig with its historic coat of arms stones. The adjacent mountain meadows are home to the Arnica. These tended meadows emerged in connection with the construction of a glassworks at the beginning of the 18th century and today are home to many particularly protected animals and plants. At the “Meilerhütte” you will find information about charcoal burning, the traces and relics of which are still numerous on the surrounding mountains today. Along the way, benches invite you to relax. In the village Friedrichshöhe there is a restaurant as well as guesthouses and holiday homes. At the Nature Park Center, there is a small exhibition and a slide-and-sound show. The educational trail finally ascends slightly from the Nature Park Center via a forest path to the Bear's root meadow and the moor. You reach the starting point again via the moor footbridge.
