Lors de cette randonnée, on passe par l'ancien village "Rothenmoor". En 1545, des paysans s'y installèrent ; au final, le village Rothenmoor comptait plus de vingt bâtiments. Vers le milieu de la guerre de Trente Ans (1618-1648), les Suédois et leurs alliés s'installèrent dans la Rhön après la bataille de Nördlingen. En 1634, le village Rothenmoor fut incendié, les paysans quittèrent le village et s'installèrent ailleurs. Aujourd’hui encore, on peut voir les restes du puits du village. Au sommet du Heidelstein, qui culmine à 926 m, se trouve un pylône de transmission construit en 1969. Sa hauteur totale est d'environ 218 m. Le pylône n'est pas accessible au public.

On this hike, you pass the former village of "Rothenmoor." In 1545, farmers settled there, and eventually there were over twenty buildings forming the village of Rothenmoor. Around the middle of the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648), the Swedes and their allies settled in the Rhön after the Battle of Nördlingen. In 1634, Rothenmoor was burned down, the farmers left, and resettled. Remains of the village well can still be seen today. On the 926 m high Heidelstein stands a transmission mast built in 1969. The total height is about 218 m. The mast is not accessible.

Auf dieser Wanderung kommt man am ehemaligen Dorf "Rothenmoor" vorbei.  1545 wurden dort Bauern ansässig, schließlich waren es über zwanzig Gebäude, die das Dorf Rothenmoor bildeten. Um die Mitte des Dreißigjährigen Krieges (1618-1648) setzten sich die Schweden und ihre Verbündeten nach der Schlacht um Nördlingen in der Rhön fest. 1634 wurde das Dorf Rothenmoor niedergebrannt, die Bauern verließen das Dorf und siedelten um. Noch heute kann man Reste des Dorfbrunnens erkennen.  Auf dem 926 hohen Heidelstein steht auch ein Sendemast, der 1969 erbaut wurde. Die Gesamthöhe beträgt ca. 218 m.  Der Sendemast ist nicht begehbar.

schema:value @de <p>Am Rande der großen Moorwiese links am Waldrand entlang, erreicht man die Schutzhütte Moorwiese und geht rechts weiter bis zur Ulsterquelle und durch das Naturschutzgebiet Kesselrain zum Parkplatz Schornhecke. Von dort aus wandert man über einen Wiesenpfad hinauf zur Rhönklubgedenkstätte, hier erschließt sich einem ein schöner Ausblick über das Naturschutzgebiet Lange Rhön. Weiter geht es über den Heidelstein, am Sendemast vorbei, zum "Parkplatz Moorwiese" zurück. Danach führt der Weg zur ehemaligen Dorfstelle des im Dreißigjährigen Krieges aufgegebenen Dorfes "Rothenmoor" (Erläuterungstafel und Rest des Dorfbrunnens) und weiter zurück zum Ausgangspunkt am Parkplatz Moorwiese. </p>
