The Rhön is unique - especially here on the meadows of the Hochrhön - amid ancient pollarded beeches and mysterious moors. This route leads, among other things, along a wooden boardwalk through the Rotes Moor. Numerous information boards provide information about the special features of this unique habitat. Der Aussichtsturm im Roten Moor bietet eine beeindruckende Aussicht über das Rote Moor mit Moorweiher.

thuecat:directions @de Dieser Moorrundweg führt vorbei an den Überresten des Dorfes "Rothenmoor" bis zum Parkplatz Moorwiese. Nach Überquerung der Bundesstraße 278 wandert man über einen Forstweg und entlang eines schmalen Wanderpfades an der Jungviehweide am Mathesberg vorbei. Hier weiden in den Frühjahr- und Sommermonaten Jungrinder auf den Höhen des Mathesberges. Am Forstweg links wandert man durch das Grumbachtal und über einen Wanderpfad bergauf zum Sattel zwischen Wasserkuppe und Rotes Moor. Von hier aus gelangt man über die "alte Reichsstraße" zum Aussichtsturm im Roten Moor. Über den Holzbohlenpfad mit vielen Informationstafeln wird man bis zum Moorweiher geführt und erreicht nach ca. 300 m wieder den Parkplatz Moordorf.

Après avoir traversé la route fédérale 278, on marche sur un chemin forestier et le long d'un sentier étroit en passant par la pâture de jeunes bovins au Mathesberg. Ici, pendant les mois de printemps et d'été, des jeunes bovins paissent sur les hauteurs du Mathesberg. Sur le chemin forestier à gauche, on traverse la vallée de Grumbach et on monte par un sentier jusqu'à la selle entre Wasserkuppe et la tourbière rouge.
