Der Winterwander Weidmannsheil bildet ein alternatives Teilstück des Skiwanderweges Rennsteig. Ab Wanderparkplatz Bernhardsthal geht es auf direktem Wege über den präparierten Rennsteig in Richtung Steinheid / Limbach. An der ersten Kreuzung lässt man die Schutzhütte „Am Reifweg“ rechts liegen, der kommende Kreuzungsbereich wird nach link überquert und man folgt gemäß der Ausschilderung dem nach Weidmannsheil. Nach ca. 800 m erreicht man das Ziel, die Wanderhütte „Weidmannsheil“. welches mit einer traumhaften Lage und dem herrlichen Ausblick über den Trinkwasserstausee Scheibe-Alsbach aufwartet. Ab hier geht es, teils über ein Steilstück, hinab zur „Steinheider Hütte“ am Sandwieschen.

Le sentier de randonnée hivernal Weidmannsheil constitue un tronçon alternatif du sentier de ski de randonnée Rennsteig. Depuis le parking de randonnée Bernhardtsthal, on emprunte directement le Rennsteig préparé en direction de Steinheid / Limbach. Au premier croisement, on laisse le refuge « Am Reifweg » sur la droite, puis on traverse le prochain croisement vers la gauche et suit la signalisation vers Weidmannsheil. Après environ 800 m, on atteint la destination, le refuge de randonnée « Weidmannsheil », qui offre un emplacement magnifique et une vue splendide sur le réservoir d’eau potable Scheibe-Alsbach. De là, on descend, en partie par un passage en pente raide, vers le refuge « Steinheider Hütte » au Sandwieschen.

The Weidmannsheil winter hike forms an alternative section of the Rennsteig ski trail. Starting at the Bernhardtsthal hiking car park, follow the prepared Rennsteig directly towards Steinheid / Limbach. At the first intersection, leave the "Am Reifweg" shelter to the right, cross the next crossing to the left and follow the signs towards Weidmannsheil. After about 800 m you reach your destination, the "Weidmannsheil" hiking hut, which boasts a fantastic location and a wonderful view over the Scheibe-Alsbach drinking water reservoir. From here, it goes partly steeply down to the "Steinheider Hut" at Sandwieschen.
