Der Steinige Hügel ist eine leichte und ruhige Genießer-Loipe und gilt als Geheimtipp. Der ca. 6 km lange Rundweg führt fast eben um den Steinigen Hügel und bietet eine wunderschönen Ausblick Richtung Lauscha. Ab Parkplatz/ Bahnhaltepunkt Igelshieb - hinter den Bahngleis links parallel zur Bahnlinie dem Skiwanderweg Rennsteig in Richtung Ernstthal/Lehesten folgen - nach ca. 1 km am Kreuzungspunkt nach rechts in Richtung Michelsbrunnen abbiegen und dem Waldweg folgen - nach weiteren ca. 3 km erreicht man den Aussichtspunkt Eller mit Blick über Lauscha und ins Steinachtal- 800 m weiter kommt man am Edelweißbrunnen vorbei- nun sind es noch ca. 2 km bis zum Ausgangspunkt

Le Steinige Hügel est une piste facile et calme pour les amateurs et est considéré comme une adresse secrète. Le circuit d'environ 6 km longe presque à plat le Steinige Hügel et offre une belle vue sur Lauscha. Depuis le parking/arrêt de train Igelshieb - derrière la voie ferrée, tournez à gauche et suivez parallèlement à la voie ferrée le parcours de randonnée à ski Rennsteig en direction d'Ernstthal/Lehesten - après environ 1 km, au croisement, tournez à droite en direction de Michelsbrunnen et suivez le chemin forestier - après environ 3 km, vous atteindrez le point de vue Eller avec vue sur Lauscha et la vallée de la Steinach - 800 m plus loin, vous passez la fontaine Edelweiß - il reste environ 2 km jusqu'au point de départ

The Rocky Hill is an easy and peaceful pleasure trail and is considered an insider tip. The approx. 6 km long circular route runs almost flat around the Rocky Hill and offers a beautiful view towards Lauscha. From the parking lot/railway stop Igelshieb - behind the railway tracks to the left parallel to the railway line follow the Rennsteig ski trail towards Ernstthal/Lehesten - after about 1 km at the intersection turn right towards Michelsbrunnen and follow the forest path - after another approx. 3 km you reach the Eller viewpoint with views over Lauscha and into the Steinach valley - 800 m further you pass the Edelweiss fountain - now it is about 2 km back to the starting point

In Neuhaus am Rennweg nehmen Sie die erste Ausfahrt (Richtung Lauscha, Sonneberg) im Kreisel. Nach ca. 1km biegen Sie rechts in den Bahnweg ein, am Ende der Straße befindet sich der Parkplatz am Rennsteighaus. Von der A9 kommend Abfahrt 26 (Triptis) und weiter auf der B281 ca. 72 km Richtung Neuhaus am Rennweg. Kurz vor Neuhaus am Rennweg nehmen Sie die 2 Ausfahrt im Kreisel und folgen der Hauptstraße bis zum nächsten Kreisel. Dort nehmen Sie die dritte Ausfahrt ((Richtung Lauscha, Sonneberg) . Nach ca. 1km biegen Sie rechts in den Bahnweg ein, am Ende der Straße befindet sich der Parkplatz am Rennsteighaus. Von der A71 kommend Abfahrt 15 (Ilmenau - Ost) und weiter auf der B88 ca. 29 km in Richtung Gehren. An der Ampel in Gehren, rechts abbiegen, auf die L1047  und dieser ca. 28 km folgen. Kurz vor Neuhaus am Rennweg nehmen Sie die 1 Ausfahrt im Kreisel und folgen der Hauptstraße bis zum nächsten Kreisel. Dort nehmen Sie die dritte Ausfahrt ( Richtung Lauscha, Sonneberg) . Nach ca. 1km biegen Sie rechts in den Bahnweg ein, am Ende der Straße befindet sich der Parkplatz am Rennsteighaus.

An der Ampel in Gehren, rechts abbiegen, auf die L1047  und dieser ca. 28 km folgen. Kurz vor Neuhaus am Rennweg nehmen Sie die 1 Ausfahrt im Kreisel und folgen der Hauptstraße bis zum nächsten Kreisel.
