You can reach Neuenhof by bus. The route touches on mining history and the old charcoal burner craft. A fantastic panoramic view is available from the "Tea House." The Red Army already appreciated this spot: the border region was monitored and eavesdropped from here. Partly, you walk on long-distance hiking trails, the X9=Wartburg Path and the X5=Werra Castle Trail. Round off the day with a visit to the museum in the Kemnate of the Brandenburg Ruin! You will meet "Georg von Reckrodt," a brave knight who was important in the Reformation movement during Martin Luther's times. He was born in the West Castle of Brandenburg. From the lookout tower and the castle grounds, you can learn about the "cake pusher," "boot," and the "bell." What that is about? Find out! From the castle, you can walk to the bus stop in Lauchröden or the train halt in Herleshausen. There are dining options in Neuenhof, Lauchröden, and Herleshausen.

Vom Aussichtsturm und vom Burggelände aus können Sie den "Kuchenschieber", "Stiefel" und die "Glocke" kennenlernen. Was es damit auf sich hat? Finden Sie es heraus! Von der Burg können Sie zur Bushaltestelle in Lauchröden oder zum Bahn-Haltepunkt in Herleshausen laufen.  Einkehrmöglichkeiten sind in Neuenhof, Lauchröden und Herleshausen vorhanden.

Die Tour führt Sie nach Süden aus dem Ort in Richtung Wald, vorbei am <strong>Hungerborn</strong>. Der <strong>Kupferschieferbergbau</strong> aus vergangenen Zeiten hat sichtbare Spuren hinterlassen. Auch eine <strong>Köhlerhütte</strong> am Wegesrand weist auf das alte Handwerk hin. Um den Kupferberg herum schlängelt sich der Weg langsam durch Wiesen und Wälder. Bald erreichen Sie den <strong>Wartburgpfad (X9)</strong>, der Sie an der <strong>Arnswaldbuche</strong> vorbei in Richtung Brandenburg führt. An der höchsten Wegestelle befinden Sie sich in der Nähe eines ehemaligen Aufklärungsbunkers der Gruppe Sowjetischer Streitkräfte in Deutschland (GSSD). Der Punkt liegt heute noch etwas höher auf einem Feld und ist nicht mehr direkt begehbar. Von dort hatte man einen fantastischem 360-Grad-Blick in das Elte- und Werratal - und damit die gewünschte Kontrolle nach allen Seiten.  Vom Weg aus sehen Sie in Richtung Osten und Süden u.a. den Inselsberg (916 m), die Erhebungen der Kuppenrhön, auch die weiße "Monte Kali" oder "Kalimandscharo" genannte künstliche Abraumhalde des Kalibergbaus.Bergab geht es zur romantischen <strong>Ruine Brandenburg</strong>, die immer einen Besuch lohnt.
