La promenade commence à la fontaine en granit jaune au milieu de la place du marché. De là, on a une vue sur les bâtiments environnants. Le côté est du marché est délimité par l’hôtel de ville construit en 1995 à l'emplacement historique. Le côté ouest est dominé par l’église de ville St. Marien et la maison citoyenne où se trouve la bibliothèque. Par la ruelle entre l’église et la maison citoyenne, on atteint la place du château. De là, on a une belle vue sur la tour du château ou de guet et l’entrée de l’ancien domaine. Par la place de l’église, la place Strobel jusqu’à l’étang de la ville, on arrive au parc urbain. On y trouve un monument aux morts avec chaire, un terrain de jeux pour enfants et des installations sportives. Le chemin à travers le parc mène à une allée de cerisiers puis vers la dernière rue historique avec granges restantes. Au coin du parc, on tourne dans la rue du château qui montre les derniers vestiges des anciens remparts. On suit cette rue jusqu’à la rue Roßstraße où se trouvait la porte d’Auma. Tout droit, on continue par la rue Orlagasse jusqu’à la place de la jeunesse et plus loin dans la Sportallee. On passe par la salle de gymnastique municipale, la maison des tireurs et les installations sportives jusqu’à la piscine municipale. Par un chemin à travers les prairies en dessous du barrage, on fait le tour de la piscine. Ceux qui veulent peuvent faire un détour par le barrage pour profiter de la vue sur Triptis. Le chemin Tannenweg nous conduit derrière le cimetière municipal jusqu’à l’entrée du cimetière historique où se trouvent des croix expiatoires médiévales. Ensuite la rue descend vers la Angergasse où on retrouve la Orlagasse. On continue par la poste jusqu’à la Geraer Straße où il faut garder la gauche. Là, on passe devant le musée municipal Haus Schwandke. Après quelques pas, on peut revenir sur la gauche par un petit parking et en traversant la Orla par un passage sous une maison pour revenir à la place du marché.

The tour starts at the fountain made of yellow granite stone in the middle of the market square. From here you have a view of the surrounding buildings. The eastern market side is bounded by the town hall built in 1995 on a historic site. The western side is shaped by the St. Mary’s Church and the community center where the library is located. Through the alley between the church and the community center you come to the castle square. Here you have a good view of the defense or castle tower and the entrance of the former estate. Via the church square and Strobelplatz to the city pond we reach the city park. In it, we find a war memorial with a pulpit, a children's playground, and sports facilities. The path through the city park leads us along a cherry tree alley and then towards the last remaining historic barn street. At the corner of the city park, we turn into the castle alley, which shows the last stumps of the old city wall. We follow this alley to Roßstraße. Here stood the Auma Gate. Straight ahead, it continues through Orlagasse to the Platz der Jugend and further into Sportallee. Here we pass the municipal gymnasium, the shooting house, and the sports facilities up to the outdoor pool. On a path through the meadows below the dam, we circle around the outdoor pool. Anyone who wishes can make a short detour to the dam wall and enjoy the view over Triptis. The fir path leads us behind the municipal cemetery to the historic cemetery entrance, where there are medieval atonement crosses. Downhill the street leads into Angergasse from where we meet Orlagasse again. Further through Poststraße to Geraer Straße, on which we keep to the left. Here we pass the municipal museum Haus Schwandke. After a few steps, we can go back to the market square on the left side, crossing the Orla through a house passage and a small parking lot.

Der Rundgang beginnt am Brunnen aus gelbem Granitstein mitten auf dem Marktplatz. Von hier hat man den Blick auf die umliegenden Gebäude. Die östliche Marktseite wird begrenzt durch das 1995 an hist. Stelle erbaute Rathaus. Die westliche Seite ist geprägt durch die Stadtkirche St. Marien und das Bürgerhaus in dem sich die Bibliothek befindet.  Über die Gasse zwischen Kirche und Bürgerhaus kommt man zum Schlossplatz. Hier hat man einen guten Blick auf den Wehr- oder Schlossturm und den Eingang des ehemaligen Gutes. Über den Kirchplatz, den Strobelplatz bis zum Stadtteich erreichen wir den Stadtpark. In diesem finden wir ein Kriegerdenkmal mit Kanzel, einen Kinderspielplatz und Sportstätten. Der Weg durch den Stadtpark führt uns an einer Kirschbaumallee und anschließend in Richtung der letzten verbliebenen historischen Scheunenstraße. An der Ecke des Stadtparkes biegen wir in die Schlossgasse, die die letzten Stümpfe der alten Stadtmauer zeigt ein. Dieser Gasse folgen wir bis zur Roßstraße. Hier befand sich das Aumaer Tor. Geradeaus, geht es weiter durch die Orlagasse bis zum Platz der Jugend und weiter in die Sportallee. Hier kommen wir vorbei an der städtischen Turnhalle, dem Schützenhaus und den Sportstätten bis zum Freibad. Auf einem Weg durch die Wiesen unterhalb des Staus umrunden wir das Freibad. Wer möchte, kann den kurzen Abstecher auf die Staumauer mitmachen und den Ausblick über Triptis genießen. Der Tannenweg führt uns hinter dem städtischem Friedhof entlang bis zum historischen Friedhofseingang, an dem sich mittelalterliche Sühnekreuze befinden. Die Straße abwärts geht es in die Angergasse von der aus wir wieder auf die Orlagasse treffen. Weiter durch die Poststraße bis zur Geraer Straße auf welcher wir uns Links halten. Hier kommen wir am städtischen Museum Haus Schwandke vorbei. Nach wenigen Schritten können wir auf der linken Seite einen kleinen Parkplatz und die Orla querend durch einen Hausdurchgang wieder zum Marktplatz zurück gehen.
