Die Strecke startet in Lichtentanne-Ebersbrunn, wo die Pleiße entspringt, und führt dann rund 110km quer durch das Zwickauer und Altenburger Land sowie Leipziger Neuseenland bis nach Leipzig, wo die Pleiße in die Weiße Elster mündet. Die Route zählt zu den einfachen Radtouren und ist für Familien und Freizeitradler geeignet. Von Altenburg aus kann man den Radweg in zwei Richtungen befahren: nach Norden, durch das Leipziger Neuseenland, einem aus einem ehemaligen Tagebaugebiet entstandenen Freizeitparadies, oder nach Süden in Richtung Werdau. Gründe für zahlreiche Zwischenhalte und Pausen bieten beide Abschnitte. So locken südlich von Altenburg zahlreiche Sehenswürdigkeiten, wie die Silbermann-Orgel in der Kirche Ponitz, das Schloss in Windischleuba, die ehemalige Tuchfabrik Gebr. Pfau in Crimmitschau oder das Dampfmaschinenmuseum in Werdau. Le parcours commence à Lichtentanne-Ebersbrunn, d'où la Pleiße prend sa source, puis s'étend sur environ 110 km à travers les régions de Zwickauer et Altenburger, ainsi que le Leipziger Neuseenland jusqu'à Leipzig, où la Pleiße se jette dans la Weiße Elster. Le parcours est classé parmi les balades à vélo faciles et convient aux familles et cyclotouristes de loisir. Depuis Altenburg, on peut emprunter le parcours dans deux directions : vers le nord, à travers le Leipziger Neuseenland, un paradis de loisirs issu d'une ancienne zone d'extraction à ciel ouvert, ou vers le sud en direction de Werdau. Les deux sections offrent de nombreuses raisons pour s'arrêter et faire des pauses. Ainsi, au sud d'Altenburg, de nombreuses curiosités attirent, comme l'orgue Silbermann dans l'église de Ponitz, le château de Windischleuba, l'ancienne fabrique de tissus Gebr. Pfau à Crimmitschau, ou le musée des machines à vapeur à Werdau. Le Leipziger Neuseenland au nord d'Altenburg brille par son paysage unique et ses lacs issus d'anciennes carrières. The route starts in Lichtentanne-Ebersbrunn, where the Pleiße springs, and then leads about 110 km across the Zwickau and Altenburger Land as well as the Leipzig Neuseenland to Leipzig, where the Pleiße flows into the Weiße Elster. The route is considered an easy cycling route and is suitable for families and leisure cyclists. From Altenburg, the cycle path can be ridden in two directions: north, through the Leipzig Neuseenland, a recreational paradise created from a former open-cast mining area, or south towards Werdau. Both sections offer numerous reasons for stops and breaks. South of Altenburg, many sights attract visitors, such as the Silbermann organ in Ponitz church, the castle in Windischleuba, the former Gebr. Pfau cloth factory in Crimmitschau, or the steam engine museum in Werdau.
