Der Bergbauwanderweg Domberg führt den Wanderer in die Bergbaugeschichte der Waffenstadt Suhl ein. Auf dem nur knapp 3 Kilometer langen Weg lernt er die jahrhundertelange Geschichte der Eisenerzförderung der Thüringer Stadt kennen. Deutlich sind die Überreste von Gruben, Schächten und Abraumhalden noch heute zu erkennen, mehrere Stolleneingänge sind wiederhergestellt. Mit einiger Fantasie kann man sich die schwere Arbeit der Bergleute in den vergangenen Jahrhunderten vorstellen. Außerdem bietet der Weg im lichten Buchenwald auch Ausblicke auf den Thüringer Wald und die Stadt Suhl.

Le sentier de randonnée minier Domberg initie le randonneur à l'histoire minière de la ville d’armes Suhl. Sur un parcours d'un peu moins de 3 kilomètres, il découvre l'histoire séculaire de l'extraction du minerai de fer dans cette ville thuringienne. Les vestiges des mines, des puits et des terrils sont encore bien visibles, plusieurs entrées de galeries sont restaurées. Avec un peu d'imagination, on peut se représenter le travail dur des mineurs des siècles passés. De plus, le chemin en forêt de hêtres clairsemée offre aussi des vues sur la forêt de Thuringe et la ville de Suhl.

The Domberg mining trail introduces the hiker to the mining history of the weapons city Suhl. On the just under 3-kilometer-long path, he gets to know the centuries-old history of iron ore mining in the Thuringian city. The remains of pits, shafts, and spoil heaps are still clearly visible today, and several adit entrances have been restored. With some imagination, one can envision the hard work of the miners in past centuries. Wenn Sie die Station 1a an der Rodwiese erreicht haben, können Sie entweder auf dem Weg zurücklaufen oder Sie wandern über den Domberg mit Bismarckturm zur Ottilienkapelle und zum Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung zurück.
