Als Neustadter Wahrzeichen gilt der Hausberg „Muppberg". Von dort aus verlaufen gut ausgebaute Rad- und Wanderwege, welche mit einem wunderschönen Fernblick zum Wandern einladen. Auf dem Gipfel des Muppbergs grüßt der 1905 geweihte 28 Meter hohe Prinzregententurm. Von seinen Zinnen bieten sich traumhafte Ausblicke nach Norden in den Thüringer Wald und nach Süden bis nach Kloster Banz und die Basilika Vierzehnheiligen im Staffelsteiner Land. Über verschiedene Rundwanderwege ist die Ausflugsgaststätte „Arnoldhütte" auf dem Muppberg von Neustadts Kernstadt aus nach etwa 30 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar.

Le symbole de Neustadt est la montagne locale "Muppberg". De là partent de bons chemins bien aménagés pour le vélo et la randonnée, invitant à la balade avec une magnifique vue panoramique. Au sommet du Muppberg se trouve la tour du prince-régent, haute de 28 m, consacrée en 1905. De ses remparts s'offre une vue magnifique vers le nord sur la forêt de Thuringe et vers le sud jusqu'à Kloster Banz et la basilique Vierzehnheiligen dans la région de Staffelstein. Par divers parcours circulaires, le restaurant de campagne "Arnoldhütte" sur le Muppberg est accessible à pied en environ 30 minutes depuis le centre-ville de Neustadt.

The home mountain “Muppberg” is considered Neustadt’s landmark. Well-developed cycling and hiking paths start from there, inviting you to enjoy beautiful panoramic views while hiking. On the summit of Muppberg greets the 28-meter-high Prinzregententurm, consecrated in 1905. From its battlements, you have stunning views to the north into the Thuringian Forest and to the south as far as Kloster Banz and the Basilica Vierzehnheiligen in the Staffelstein region. Mit leichter, gleichmäßiger Steigung vorbei am Wasserhochbehälter der Stadtwerke gelangt man auf einer geschotterten Waldstraße zum Steinpavillon. An der ersten Weggabelung rechts zieht sich diese nun als breiter Waldweg immer auf gleicher Höhe um den Muppberg. Am Weg links der Holzpavillon, der schön gefasste „Sembachsbrunnen" und rechts die Sprungschanze. Bei der nächsten Kreuzung führt der Weg links bergaufwärts weiter. Rechts abwärts käme man an den „Drei Buchen" vorbei zum ehemaligen ASV-Sportplatz an der Ebersdorfer Straße.</p> <p>Der „Breite Weg" steigt nun erst leicht, um dann allmählich abfallend erneut in eine Kreuzung zu münden. Links führt ein Weg steil zur „Arnoldhütte" hoch, das gleiche Ziel erreicht man, wenn man geradeaus auf dem „Breiten Weg“ bleibt. Wir jedoch gehen rechts und gelangen nach ca. 200 Metern wieder zum Steinpavillon, wo sich der Kreis schließt und wir über den vom Anstieg bereits bekannten „Breiten Weg“ – jetzt nur in umgekehrter Richtung – die Gaststätte  „Grüntal", den Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung, erreichen.</p>

At the first fork in the path, turn right as this now runs as a wide forest path, always on the same level, around the Muppberg. On the left side of the path is the wooden pavilion, the beautifully framed "Sembachsbrunnen" fountain, and on the right, the ski jump. At the next intersection, the path goes uphill to the left. Downhill to the right, you would pass the "Drei Buchen" towards the former ASV sports field on Ebersdorfer Street. The "Wide Path" first gently ascends, then gradually descends again to another intersection. A path to the left leads steeply up to the "Arnoldhütte"; the same goal is reached by continuing straight on the "Wide Path." However, we turn right and after about 200 meters return to the stone pavilion, where the circle closes and we return via the previously known ascent on the "Wide Path" – now just in the opposite direction – to the restaurant "Grüntal," the starting point of the hike.
thuecat:directions @de Die Wanderung auf dem „Breiten Weg" beginnt an der Gaststätte „Grüntal", die direkt oberhalb des Schützenplatzes am Waldrand liegt. Mit leichter, gleichmäßiger Steigung vorbei am Wasserhochbehälter der Stadtwerke gelangt man auf einer geschotterten Waldstraße zum Steinpavillon. An der ersten Weggabelung rechts zieht sich diese nun als breiter Waldweg immer auf gleicher Höhe um den Muppberg. Am Weg links der Holzpavillon, der schön gefasste „Sembachsbrunnen" und rechts die Sprungschanze. Bei der nächsten Kreuzung führt der Weg links bergaufwärts weiter. Rechts abwärts käme man an den „Drei Buchen" vorbei zum ehemaligen ASV-Sportplatz an der Ebersdorfer Straße. Der „Breite Weg" steigt nun erst leicht, um dann allmählich abfallend erneut in eine Kreuzung zu münden. Links führt ein Weg steil zur „Arnoldhütte" hoch, das gleiche Ziel erreicht man, wenn man geradeaus auf dem „Breiten Weg“ bleibt. Wir jedoch gehen rechts und gelangen nach ca. 200 Metern wieder zum Steinpavillon, wo sich der Kreis schließt und wir über den vom Anstieg bereits bekannten „Breiten Weg“ – jetzt nur in umgekehrter Richtung – die Gaststätte  „Grüntal", den Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung, erreichen.
