Max Oscar Arnold, geheimer Kommerzienrat und Neustadter Ehrenbürger, war ein Mann voller Tatkraft, Geist und Humor – mit großem Interesse an der Heimat. Max Oscar Arnold setzte sich unter anderem für den Bau des Prinzregententurmes (28 m) und der Schutzhütte (Arnoldhütte) auf dem Neustadter Hausberg „Muppberg“ (515,5 m ü. NN) ein. Zu Ehren dieses engagagierten „großen Neustadters“ wurde anlässlich seines 150. Geburtstages am 29. März 2003 der Max-Oscar-Arnold-Wanderweg eingeweiht.

Max Oscar Arnold, conseiller commercial secret et citoyen d'honneur de Neustadt, était un homme plein d'énergie, d'esprit et d'humour – avec un grand intérêt pour la région. Max Oscar Arnold s'est notamment engagé pour la construction de la tour Prinzregent (28 m) et de la cabane de protection (cabane Arnold) sur la montagne locale de Neustadt « Muppberg » (515,5 m d'altitude). En l'honneur de ce « grand Neustadter » engagé, le sentier de randonnée Max-Oscar-Arnold a été inauguré à l'occasion de son 150e anniversaire, le 29 mars 2003.

Max Oscar Arnold, secret commercial councillor and honorary citizen of Neustadt, was a man full of energy, wit, and humor – with great interest in his homeland. Among other things, Max Oscar Arnold advocated for the construction of the Prinzregententurm (28 m) and the shelter hut (Arnold Hut) on the Neustadt local mountain “Muppberg” (515.5 m above sea level). In honor of this committed “great Neustadt citizen,” the Max-Oscar-Arnold hiking trail was inaugurated on the occasion of his 150th birthday on March 29, 2003.

Diesen erreichen wir auf der linken Wegseite über eine Treppe. Auf der kleinen Anhöhe bietet sich uns eine überdachte Rastmöglichkeit mit einer großzügigen Anzahl von Sitzgelegenheiten. Ein Abstecher zum nahe gelegenen „Herzogsbrunnen" ist zu empfehlen.</p> <p>Weiter geht es auf einem steil nach oben führenden Pfad bis zu einem Waldweg. Nun rechts weiter bis zur Weggabelung. Hier dem Wegweiser folgend nach links zum „Sonneberger Blick“ wandern.
