About: Rundweg C2 vom Marktplatz Coburg entlang des Herzogsweg über die Veste und den Eckardtsberg, Circular route C2 from Coburg market square along the Herzogsweg past the Veste and the Eckardtsberg, Parcours circulaire C2 depuis la place du marché de Coburg le long du Herzogsweg, passant par la forteresse et l'Eckardtsberg

The circular route takes us from the picturesque market square of the city of Coburg with its historic buildings past the tourist information to the castle square. From there we hike into the Hofgarten, which was laid out in the 19th century as an English landscape garden and features mausoleums, fountains and impressive trees. Below the equestrian monument we enjoy the view over the castle square to the Ehrenburg and the state theatre. Then it continues past the natural history museum to the "Fränkische Krone", the Veste Coburg with its art collections and from there with a view of the Veilchental along the Herzogsweg to the Eckardtsberg with its namesake tower. From there it goes downhill over the Glockenberg with its old cemetery, past the Moriz church back to the starting point.

Der Rundweg führt uns vom malerischen Marktplatz der Stadt Coburg mit seinen historischen Gebäuden vorbei an der Tourist-Information auf den Schlossplatz.  Von dort wandern wir in den Hofgarten, der im 19. Jahrhundert als englischer Landschaftsgarten angelegt wurde und mit Mausoleen, Brunnen und beeindruckenden Bäumen aufwartet. Unterhalb des Reiterdenkmals genießen wir den Ausblick über den Schlossplatz auf die Ehrenburg und das Landestheater. Weiter geht es vorbei am Naturkundemuseum zur "Fränkeischen Krone", der Veste Coburg mit ihren Kunstsammlungen und von dort mit Blick auf das Veilchental entlang des Herzogswegs zum Eckardtsberg mit gleichnamigen Turm. Von dort geht es bergab über den Glockenberg mit seinem alten Friedhof, vorbei an der Morizkirche zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.

Le parcours nous mène de la pittoresque place du marché de la ville de Coburg avec ses bâtiments historiques, en passant par l'office de tourisme jusqu'à la place du château.  De là, nous marchons dans le Hofgarten, aménagé au 19e siècle en jardin paysager anglais, avec des mausolées, des fontaines et des arbres impressionnants. Sous le monument équestre, nous profitons de la vue sur la place du château vers l'Ehrenburg et le théâtre régional. Ensuite, nous passons devant le musée d'histoire naturelle jusqu'à la « Couronne franconienne », la forteresse de Coburg avec ses collections d'art, puis avec vue sur la vallée de Veilchen, le long du Herzogsweg jusqu'à l'Eckardtsberg avec sa tour du même nom. De là, la descente se poursuit par le Glockenberg avec son ancien cimetière, puis nous passons devant l'église Moriz et retournons au point de départ.
