Auf dem abwechslungsreichen Sagenwanderweg West entdecken wir die Orte Untersiemau, Scherneck, Stöppach, Haarth und Meschenbach. Während wir auf dem Weg in das charmante Scherneck bereits aus der Ferne die evangelische Kirche bewundern, begeistert uns Meschenbach mit schönen Häusern. Neben den Ortschaften erleben wir auf der ruhigen Tour eine beeindruckende Naturlandschaft, die sich durch satte Wiesen und Felder, schmale mystische Waldpfade und weitreichende Ausblicke auf die sanfte Hügellandschaft des Coburger Landes auszeichnet. Außerdem erwarten uns die Felsen des Querkelsteins und das ruhige Wasser der Itz.

On the varied Legend Hiking Trail West, we discover the places Untersiemau, Scherneck, Stöppach, Haarth, and Meschenbach. While on the way to the charming Scherneck, we can already admire the Protestant church from afar, Meschenbach captivates us with beautiful houses. Besides the villages, on the quiet route we experience an impressive natural landscape characterized by lush meadows and fields, narrow mystical forest paths, and expansive views over the gentle hilly landscape of the Coburg region. We are also expected to see the rocks of the Querkelstein and the calm water of the Itz.

Sur le parcours varié du Sagenwanderweg West, nous découvrons les lieux Untersiemau, Scherneck, Stöppach, Haarth et Meschenbach. In der Ortschaft folgen wir dem Straßenverlauf, bis wir in die Straße Langer Weg abbiegen.</p> <p>Wir verlassen die Ortschaft und uns erwartet eine Landschaft mit satten grünen Wiesen, Apfelbäumen und Feldern. An der Kreuzung, an der es in den Wald hineingeht, biegen wir nach rechts ab und laufen am Waldrand entlang.</p> <p>Wir genießen die schönen Ausblicke auf das Coburger Land und biegen an der zweiten Möglichkeit nach links in den Wald ab. Ein Pfad führt uns auf eine wenig befahrene Teerstraße, der wir folgen, bis wir nach rechts wieder in den Wald abbiegen. Wenn wir einen kleinen Abstecher zum Schloss Hohenstein – das heute ein Hotel mit Gastronomiebetrieb ist – machen wollen, laufen wir einfach knapp einen Kilometer weiter auf der Teerstraße und anschließend wieder zurück.</p> <p>Kurz nach dem Querkelstein halten wir uns rechts, bis wir aus dem Wald auf einen Feldweg kommen. Wir halten uns links, bis wir einen Teerweg erreichen, der uns rechts in Richtung Stöppach führt.</p> <p>Im Ort angekommen nehmen wir die erste Möglichkeit, um scharf links abzubiegen. Nach dem Sportplatz nehmen wir den rechten Weg, um kurz darauf nach links abzubiegen und bergab zu gehen. Unten angekommen folgen wir einer Rechtskurve und laufen geradeaus, um an der nächsten Möglichkeit links nach Haarth zu wandern. If we want to make a small detour to Hohenstein Castle – now a hotel with a gastronomy business – we simply walk about one kilometer further on the paved road and then back again.</p> <p>Shortly after the Querkelstein, we keep right until we come out of the forest onto a field path. We keep left until we reach a paved road that leads us right towards Stöppach.</p> <p>Arriving in the village, we take the first opportunity to turn sharply left. After the sports field, we take the right path to shortly afterwards turn left and go downhill. At the bottom, we follow a right curve and walk straight on to the next opportunity to turn left towards Haarth. We go up the ring on the right to then follow the right side of the main street to Triebsdorf.</p> <p>Shortly after the village sign, we go right onto a natural trail leading us to a large intersection. Here we turn left and walk along the avenue, over the Itz river and under a bridge to turn right onto Bamberger Straße.</p> <p>We walk through Meschenbach, where we discover some beautiful houses, and follow the cycle path to the end of our route in Untersiemau.</p>

Peu après la pancarte d'entrée du village, nous prenons à droite un chemin naturel qui nous mène jusqu'à une grande intersection. Ici, nous tournons à gauche et longeons l'allée, traversons l'Itz et passons sous un pont, pour tourner à droite dans la rue Bamberger. Nous traversons Meschenbach où nous découvrons quelques belles maisons, puis suivons la piste cyclable jusqu'à la fin de notre parcours à Untersiemau.

From the parking lot, we cross Großheirather Straße and walk left along the street until we turn right into Bahnhofstraße. We leave the village, cross the B4 via a bridge, and enter the idyllic village of Scherneck. In the village, we follow the street until we turn into Langer Weg street. We leave the village and are met by a landscape with lush green meadows, apple trees, and fields. At the intersection where the forest begins, we turn right and walk along the forest edge. We enjoy the beautiful views of the Coburg region and turn left into the forest at the second opportunity. A path leads us onto a little-used paved road, which we follow until we turn right back into the forest. If we want to make a small detour to Hohenstein Castle – now a hotel with a gastronomy business – we simply walk about one kilometer further on the paved road and then back again. Shortly after the Querkelstein, we keep right until we come out of the forest onto a field path. We keep left until we reach a paved road that leads us right towards Stöppach. Arriving in the village, we take the first opportunity to turn sharply left. After the sports field, we take the right path to shortly afterwards turn left and go downhill. At the bottom, we follow a right curve and walk straight on to the next opportunity to turn left towards Haarth. We go up the ring on the right to then follow the right side of the main street to Triebsdorf. Shortly after the village sign, we go right onto a natural trail leading us to a large intersection. Here we turn left and walk along the avenue, over the Itz river and under a bridge to turn right onto Bamberger Straße. We walk through Meschenbach, where we discover some beautiful houses, and follow the cycle path to the end of our route in Untersiemau.
