Bei dieser Wanderung erkunden Sie das Jagdrevier des letzten sächsichen Königs Friedrich August III. (von 1904 bis 1918 im Amt). Für Friedrich August war das Jagen eine Leidenschaft, der er auch regelmäßig in Bad Elster nachging - auch noch lange nach Ende seiner königlichen Amtszeit. Es ist überliefert, dass er gerne im Frühjahr - noch vor Eröffnung der offiziellen und damit turbulenten Kursaison - in Bad Elster verweilte, um hier neben dem Kuren und Baden seinem liebsten Hobby nachzugehen. An Ihrem heutigen Ziel erinnert der Friedrich-August-Stein an den letzten Jagdbesuch des ehemaligen sächsischen Königs und markiert die Stelle, an der er im Jahre 1930 seinen letzten Auerhahn im Forstrevier von Bad Elster erlegte. Entlang des Weges warten zudem weitere Stationen, die entdeckt werden wollen und zum genießen einladen, wie die Heinkhütte das historische Naturbad, einem einzigartigen und idyllischen Kleinod im Paul-Schindel-Park, dem Ausgangs- und Endpunkt dieser Runde.

In this hike, you explore the hunting grounds of the last Saxon King Friedrich August III. (in office from 1904 to 1918). For Friedrich August, hunting was a passion he regularly pursued in Bad Elster — even long after the end of his royal reign. It is reported that he liked to stay in Bad Elster in spring — even before the opening of the official and thus busy cure season — to pursue his favorite hobby besides spa and bathing. Your destination today, the Friedrich-August-Stein, reminds of the last hunting visit of the former Saxon king and marks the place where in 1930 he shot his last capercaillie in the forest district of Bad Elster. Paul Schindel, l'ancien directeur royal des jardins et donc concepteur du parc de Bad Elster, a créé avec ce parc naturel de style anglais une chaîne d'aires de loisirs le long du cours naturel de la Elster blanche. Beaucoup d'autres de ses créations façonnent encore aujourd'hui de manière déterminante le paysage de Bad Elster. Ce parc porte son nom depuis 2004 en son honneur.
