Wir starten am Sportplatz in Tambach-Dietharz. Durch den Mittelwassergrund gehen wir links über den Teichdamm an der Köhlerhütte, auf einem steilen Fußpfad durch das Steinerne Tor. Wir erreichen einen breiten Forstweg und halten uns rechts bergauf. Ab Schutzhütte Buchenbergstein geht`s weiter in Richtung Falkenstein. Ein Abstecher zum Altenfels, dem Geburtsort des Meister Eckhardt, lohnt sich schon allein wegen der phantastischen Aussicht auf Schmalwassertalsperre und Falkenstein. Von hier ist das Ziel noch ca. 1,2 km entfernt. Der Falkenstein ist mit seinen 96 m Höhe auch für Nichtkletterer beeindruckend. Zurück geht es Richtung Stauwurzel Schmalwassertalsperre. Ein Abstecher in die kleine Gebirgsklamm "Röllchen" ist ebenfalls ein Highlight der Tour. Der Weg führt nun auf der Umgehungsstraße der Talsperre entlang. Viele Aussichtspunkte entlang des Weges oder ein Abstecher auf die Staumauer gestalten den Rückweg abwechslungsreich. Über die Talsperrstraße geht es zurück zum Sportplatz.

Nous partons du Sportplatz à Tambach-Dietharz. Nous traversons le Mittelwassergrund en allant à gauche sur la digue de l’étang près de la Köhlerhütte, puis sur un sentier escarpé à pied à travers le Steinernes Tor. Nous atteignons un large chemin forestier et nous tenons à droite en montée. À partir de l'abri Buchenbergstein, on continue en direction de Falkenstein. Un détour par Altenfels, lieu de naissance de Meister Eckhardt, en vaut la peine rien que pour la vue fantastique sur le barrage Schmalwasser et le Falkenstein. De là, la destination est encore à env. 1,2 km. Le Falkenstein, avec ses 96 m de hauteur, est impressionnant même pour les non-grimpeurs. Le retour se fait en direction de la source du barrage Schmalwasser. Un détour dans la petite gorge montagneuse "Röllchen" est aussi un point fort de la randonnée. Le chemin longe maintenant la route de contournement du barrage. De nombreux points de vue le long du chemin ou un détour sur le barrage rendent le retour varié. Par la route du barrage, on retourne au Sportplatz.

We start at the sports ground in Tambach-Dietharz. Through Mittelwassergrund we go left over the pond dam at the Köhlerhütte, on a steep footpath through the Stone Gate. We reach a wide forest path and keep right uphill. From the Buchenbergstein shelter it continues towards Falkenstein. A detour to Altenfels, the birthplace of Meister Eckhardt, is worthwhile alone because of the fantastic view of Schmalwassertalsperre and Falkenstein. From here, the destination is still about 1.2 km away. At 96 m high, Falkenstein is also impressive for non-climbers. On the way back it goes towards the dam root Schmalwassertalsperre. A detour into the small mountain gorge "Röllchen" is also a highlight of the route. The path now runs along the bypass road of the dam. Many viewpoints along the way or a detour to the dam make the return journey varied. Over the dam road, it goes back to the sports ground.
