Die Route beginnt am Haupteingang des Neuen Friedhofe, welchen man passiert und dem Wegverlauf nach links folgt. Erstes Stilelement ist eine schmiedeeiserne Vogeltränke in einer Spitzbogen- Arkade in der westlichen Außenmauer. Hierzu geht man in linker Richtung ein kurzes Stück vom Weg ab. Zurück auf der ursprünglichen Wegführung folgt man dieser bis zum Ende und biegt nach rechts ab. Folgt man dem Weg weiter geradeaus, so lässt sich, nach kurzer Zeit, linker Hand der anmutige "Eva-Brunnen" entdecken. Er wurde vom Mühlhäuser Bildhauer Walter Krause geschaffen und bildet den Abschluss einer Hauptachse des Friedhofes. Wieder zurück führt der Weg geradeaus weiter bis man am Ende rechter Hand zum Sowjetischen Soldatenfriedhof kommt. Hat man diesen passiert, folgt man dem Weg nach rechts und kommt zum Deutschen Soldatenfriedhof. Die vorgesehene Wegführung führt weiter an der östlichen Außenmauer, vorbei am Deutschen Soldatenfriedhof in südliche Richtung, bis man rechts abbiegt und dem Weg zum Zentralbau folgt. Auf diesem Teilstück sind vielseitig gestaltete und ansprechende Grabanlagen zu sehen. Auf dem Friedhof lohnt es sich immer den Hauptweg zu verlassen, um auf einer Ruhebank Vögeln zu zuhören, besondere Grabmäler zu bewundern und somit die Einzigartigkeit der Friedhofes zu erfahren. Der Zentralbau bildet den baulichen Mittelpunkt der gesamten Friedhofsanlage und enthält das Krematorium, eine Tauerhalle und angeschlossene funktionale Räume. Eine hier befindliche Ausstellung zum Bildhauer Walter Krause und dem Neuen Friedhof an sich, ermöglicht es dem Besucher sich umfassend zu informieren. Vom Zentralbau aus folgt man dem Hauptweg zum Eingang und somit zum Endpunkt des Rundganges.

The route begins at the main entrance of the New Cemetery, which you pass and then follow the path to the left. The first stylistic element is a wrought-iron birdbath in a pointed arch arcade in the western outer wall. For this, take a short detour left off the path. Back on the original path, follow it to the end and turn right. If you continue straight ahead, after a short time, the graceful "Eva Fountain" can be seen on the left. It was created by the Mühlhausen sculptor Walter Krause and forms the end of a main axis of the cemetery. Returning, the path continues straight until at the end on the right you reach the Soviet soldiers' cemetery. After passing it, follow the path to the right to reach the German soldiers' cemetery. The intended route continues along the eastern outer wall, past the German soldiers' cemetery in a southern direction, until you turn right and follow the path to the central building. On this section, varied and appealing grave sites can be seen. On the cemetery, it is always worthwhile to leave the main path to listen to birds from a bench, admire special grave monuments, and thus experience the uniqueness of the cemetery. The central building forms the architectural centerpiece of the entire cemetery complex and contains the crematorium, a mourning hall, and adjoining functional rooms. An exhibition here about the sculptor Walter Krause and the New Cemetery itself enables visitors to get comprehensive information. From the central building, follow the main path back to the entrance and thus to the end point of the walk.

Le parcours commence à l’entrée principale du Nouveau cimetière, que l’on dépasse avant de suivre le chemin vers la gauche. Le premier élément de style est un abreuvoir en fer forgé pour oiseaux dans une arche en ogive du mur extérieur ouest. Pour l'atteindre, il faut quitter brièvement le chemin vers la gauche. De retour sur le chemin initial, on le suit jusqu'à la fin, puis on tourne à droite. En continuant tout droit, on découvre, après un court moment, sur la gauche la magnifique "fontaine Eva". Elle a été créée par le sculpteur de Mühlhausen Walter Krause et marque la fin d’un axe principal du cimetière. De retour, on suit le chemin tout droit jusqu'à arriver, à droite, au cimetière des soldats soviétiques. Après l’avoir dépassé, on tourne à droite et on arrive au cimetière des soldats allemands. Le parcours prévu continue le long du mur extérieur est, passant devant le cimetière des soldats allemands en direction sud, jusqu’à ce que l’on tourne à droite pour suivre le chemin vers le bâtiment central. Sur ce tronçon, on peut voir des tombes variées et attrayantes. Il vaut toujours la peine de quitter le chemin principal pour écouter les oiseaux sur un banc, admirer des monuments funéraires particuliers et ainsi ressentir l’unicité du cimetière. Le bâtiment central constitue le point architectural central de l’ensemble du cimetière et abrite le crématorium, une salle de deuil et des locaux fonctionnels attenants.  Une exposition sur le sculpteur Walter Krause et le Nouveau cimetière permet aux visiteurs de s’informer de manière approfondie. Depuis le bâtiment central, on suit le chemin principal jusqu’à l’entrée, ce qui constitue le point final du parcours.
