En partant du camping du Lütschestausee, il longe la prairie supérieure à côté du ruisseau qui coule en direction de la Lütsche et permet de se rafraîchir. Le chemin passe par le Hohe Tanne jusqu'à l'étang supérieur de Sieglitz, situé dans un cadre idyllique et doté d'une aire de repos. De là, il passe par le Hohen Stein avec une vue magnifique et une aire de repos jusqu'au Ausgebrannte Stein. Le passage de l'Ausgebrannte Stein, un tunnel de 38 mètres de long à travers la roche, est le point fort du sentier de randonnée. Le sentier se poursuit ensuite le long du Flouml;ßgraben. Le point de vue avec vue sur l'autoroute A71 est un autre point marquant. En suivant le chemin, on arrive à la Tragberghütte, un refuge récemment construit, qui est également facilement accessible depuis Gräfenroda. Le chemin continue à travers la vallée de la Sieglitz jusqu'au Dicken Tanne. Là, le circuit de randonnée quitte le fossé historique et continue jusqu'aux anciens puits de pierres de meulière sur le versant de la Kleine Hohen Warte. On y trouve un banc ainsi qu'un panneau explicatif sur la tradition de longue date de la région, le métier de tailleur de pierre. Suivant le chemin, on revient au lac de Lütschestause.
