Der Rhön-Rundweg startet in der heimeligen Ortschaft Roßdorf. In dem Ort gibt es ein kleines Schloss. In dem ehemaligen Wasserschloss, welches bereits im Jahr 780 in Urkunden Erwähnung fand, befinden sich heute Ferienwohnungen sowie auf dem Gelände ein kleiner Campingplatz. Der Weg führt vom Ortszentrum in Richtung Stoffelskuppe, an derem südlichen Hang der Wanderweg bis hin zur Bernshäuser Kutte führt. Die Bernshäuser Kutte ist ein Erdfallweiher, welcher durch den Einsturz von Hohlräumen im umliegenden Bundsandstein entstand. Von der Bernshäuser Kutte verläuft die Rundwanderung nun stetig bergauf bis kurz vor den Gipfel des Horn (578m). Wie auch an weiteren Punkten in der Rhön haben auch am Horn vor vielen Hunderten Jahren Kelten gewohnt. Reste eine Wallanlage sowie Fundstücke (Bronzebeile und -schmuck, etc. von ca. 2000-1000 v.Chr.) bezeugen dies. Vom Horn verläuft der Weg bergab zurück nach Roßdorf.

Le circuit Rhön commence dans le charmant village de Roßdorf. Il y a un petit château dans le village. Dans l'ancien château d'eau, mentionné dès l'an 780 dans des documents, se trouvent aujourd'hui des appartements de vacances ainsi qu'un petit camping sur le domaine. Le chemin part du centre du village en direction de la colline Stoffelskuppe, dont le flanc sud est bordé par le sentier menant jusqu’à la Bernhäuser Kutte. La Bernhäuser Kutte est un étang d'effondrement formé par l'effondrement de cavités dans le grès environnant. À partir de la Bernhäuser Kutte, la randonnée circulaire monte progressivement jusqu’au sommet du Horn (578 m). Comme à d'autres endroits dans la Rhön, des Celtes ont habité autrefois le Horn il y a plusieurs centaines d'années. Des restes de fortifications ainsi que des objets trouvés (haches en bronze et bijoux, vers 2000-1000 av. J.-C.) en témoignent. Du Horn, le chemin descend de nouveau vers Roßdorf.

The Rhön circular route starts in the cozy village of Roßdorf. In the village, there is a small castle. In the former moated castle, which was already mentioned in documents in the year 780, there are now holiday apartments as well as a small campsite on the grounds. The path leads from the village center towards Stoffelskuppe, at whose southern slope the hiking trail leads up to Bernshäuser Kutte. Bernshäuser Kutte is a sinkhole pond formed by the collapse of cavities in the surrounding Buntsandstein sandstone. From Bernshäuser Kutte, the circular hike steadily ascends up to just before the summit of the Horn (578m). As at other points in the Rhön, Celts lived on the Horn many hundreds of years ago. Remains of a fortification and finds (bronze axes and jewelry, etc. from approx. 2000-1000 BC) bear witness to this. From the Horn, the path leads downhill back to Roßdorf.

In Vacha fährt man weiter auf der B84 in Richtung Bad Salzungen. Danach fährt man auf der B19 durch Meiningen und weiter über Walldorf und Wasungen bis nach Schwallungen. Die B19 wird bei Schwallungen verlassen und man folgt von dort aus der Beschilderung bis nach Roßdorf.</p>

Alternativ fährt man auf der Hauptstraße weiter durch den Ort und erreicht kurz später mit Roßdorf den Startpunkt des Rundwanderwegs. Die A71 wird über die Ausfahrt 21 Meiningen-Nord verlassen. Danach fährt man auf der B19 durch Meiningen und weiter über Walldorf und Wasungen bis nach Schwallungen. Die B19 wird bei Schwallungen verlassen und man folgt von dort aus der Beschilderung bis nach Roßdorf.
