The starting point of this cycling tour is Bad Blankenburg, also known as the gateway to the Schwarzatal and birthplace of the kindergarten. High above the town towers the Greifenstein Castle, the most striking landmark of Bad Blankenburg. The castle complex is one of the largest of its kind and houses a falconry from April to October. In 1840, the Thuringian educator Friedrich Fröbel founded the world’s first kindergarten here. The exhibition in the Fröbel Museum illustrates Friedrich Fröbel’s life path and highlights his educational program for early childhood education. The first part of the route leads about 8 km through the Rinne valley from Bad Blankenburg to Rottenbach. The cycling path runs mostly parallel to the railway line and passes some smaller villages. As there is no cycle path within Rottenbach, you must briefly use the main road to the railway crossing. Before the railway crossing, the path turns left again towards Bechstedt and Schwarzburg. Now the more strenuous part of the route begins. On an agricultural road, it slowly climbs towards Bechstedt, goes through the village, and then continues towards Schwarzburg. About 1 km behind Bechstedt at the "Bechsteder Tor" junction, the highest point of the tour is reached at 483 m above sea level. Before descending back into the Schwarzatal valley, you have the opportunity to take a short detour to the Trippstein viewpoint. It's worth it! Upon reaching the upper district of Schwarzburg, at the roundabout turn left onto the road towards Bad Blankenburg. After about 600 m, turn right at the curve into the lower part of Schwarzburg and then follow the local road to the Schwarzabrücke bridge. High above Schwarzburg on a rock spur towers Schwarzburg Castle with its armory and emperor's hall. In 1919, the place gained nationwide significance when Reich President Friedrich Ebert signed the Weimar Constitution here. Today, the "Path of Democracy" and a memorial plaque inform about this event. After crossing the Schwarzabrücke, turn left onto the Schwarzatal cycle path heading towards Bad Blankenburg. This path runs always along the Schwarza river, through the wild and romantic Schwarzatal valley, until you reach your starting point in Bad Blankenburg again after about 10 km. Along the way, in addition to steep rock cliffs, you can also find geological features called swirl pots, which can be seen in places in the riverbed of the Schwarza.

Ausgangspunkt dieser Radtour ist Bad Blankenburg, auch bekannt als das Tor zum Schwarzatal und Geburtsort des Kindergartens.  Hoch über der Stadt thront die Burg Greifenstein, das markanteste Wahrzeichen von Bad Blankenburg. Die Burganlage ist eine der größten ihrer Art und beherbergt von April bis Oktober eine eine Falknerei. 1840 gründete der Thüringer Pädagoge Friedrich Fröbel hier den weltweit ersten Kindergarten. Die Ausstellung im Fröbelmuseum  veranschaulicht den Lebensweg Friedrich Fröbels und beleuchtet dessen pädagogisches Programm frühkindlicher Erziehung. Der erste Teil der Tour führt ca. 8 km durch das Rinnetal von Bad Blankenburg nach Rottenbach. Der Radweg verläuft meist parallel zur Bahnlinie und und streift dabei einige kleinere Orte. Da es innnerhalb Rottenbachs keinen Radweg gibt, muss hier für eine kurzes Stück bis zum Bahnübergang die Bundesstraße genutzt werden.  Vor dem Bahnübergang schließt dann links der Radweg wieder in Richtung Bechstedt bzw. Schwarzburg an. Nun beginnt der anstrengendere Teil der Tour. Auf einem Landwirtschaftsweg geht es allmählich bergan in Richtung Bechstedt, durch den Ort hindurch und dann weiter in Richtung Schwarzburg. Ca. 1 Km hinter Bechstedt am Abzweig "Bechsteder Tor" ist auch schon mit 483 m üNN der höchste Punkt der Tour erreicht. Bevor es wieder bergab ins Schwarzatal geht, haben Sie von hier aus die Möglichkeit, einen kleinen Abstecher zum Aussichtspunkt Trippstein einzulegen. Es lohnt sicht! Im oberen Ortsteil von Schwarzburg angekommen geht es am Kreisverkehr links auf die Straße in Richtung Bad Blankenburg. Nach ca. 600 m biegen Sie rechts in der Kurve in den unteren Ort von Schwarzburg ab und folgen dann der Ortsstraße bis zur Schwarzabrücke.  Hoch über Schwarzburgt thront auf einem Felssporn Schloss Schwarzburg mit seinem Zeughaus und Kaisersaal. 1919 erlangte der Ort gesamtdeutsch an Bedeutung. Reichspräsident Friedrich Ebert unterzeichnete hier die Weimarer Verfassung. Heute informiert darüber der "Weg der Demokratie" sowie eine Gedenktafel. Nach der Schwarzabrücke biegen Sie nun links auf den Schwarzatal-Radweg in Richtung Bad Blankenburg ab. Dieser verläuft  immer an der Schwarza entlang,  durch das wildromatische Schwarzatal, bis Sie nach ca. 10 km wieder das Ziel Bad Blankenburg erreichen. Unterwegs treffen Sie neben steilen Felsklippen auch noch auf geologische Besonderheiten. Sogenannte Strudeltöpfe, die man stellenweise im Flussbett der Schwarza sehen kann.

Le point de départ de cette balade à vélo est Bad Blankenburg, également connu comme la porte du Schwarzatal et le lieu de naissance du jardin d'enfants.  Haut perché au-dessus de la ville se dresse le château de Greifenstein, le monument le plus emblématique de Bad Blankenburg. Le complexe du château est l'un des plus grands de son genre et abrite d'avril à octobre une fauconnerie. En 1840, l’éducateur thuringien Friedrich Fröbel fonda ici le premier jardin d'enfants au monde. L'exposition au musée Fröbel  illustre la vie de Friedrich Fröbel et éclaire son programme pédagogique pour l'éducation préscolaire. La première partie du parcours emprunte environ 8 km à travers la vallée de Rinne, de Bad Blankenburg à Rottenbach. La piste cyclable longe principalement la voie ferrée et traverse quelques petits villages. Comme il n’y a pas de piste cyclable à Rottenbach, il faut utiliser sur un court tronçon la route nationale jusqu’au passage à niveau. Avant ce passage, la piste cyclable se raccorde à gauche en direction de Bechstedt puis Schwarzburg. La partie la plus difficile de la balade commence alors. Sur un chemin agricole, l’itinéraire monte progressivement vers Bechstedt, traverse le village puis continue vers Schwarzburg. Environ 1 km après Bechstedt, à la bifurcation « Bechsteder Tor », se trouve le point culminant du parcours à 483 m d'altitude. Avant de redescendre vers la vallée de Schwarzatal, vous pouvez faire un petit détour vers le point de vue Trippstein. Cela vaut vraiment la peine ! Arrivé dans la partie supérieure de Schwarzburg, prenez la première sortie à gauche au rond-point en direction de Bad Blankenburg. Après environ 600 mètres, tournez à droite dans le virage vers la partie basse de Schwarzburg et suivez la route jusqu’au pont sur la Schwarz.  Haut perché sur un éperon rocheux au-dessus de Schwarzburg se trouve le château de Schwarzburg avec son armurerie et sa salle de l'empereur. En 1919, l’endroit prit une importance nationale : le président du Reich Friedrich Ebert y signa la constitution de Weimar. Aujourd’hui, le "chemin de la démocratie" ainsi qu’une plaque commémorative en rendent compte. Après le pont sur la Schwarz, tournez à gauche sur le sentier cyclable de la vallée de Schwarz en direction de Bad Blankenburg. Ce chemin longe toujours la Schwarzenza et traverse la vallée pittoresque de Schwarzatal jusqu’à atteindre la destination Bad Blankenburg après environ 10 km. En chemin, vous croiserez, en plus des falaises abruptes, des particularités géologiques telles que des marmites de géant que l’on peut parfois voir dans le lit de la Schwarzenza.
