Der Burgen-Radweg Fränkisches Saaletal führt euch von Burg zu Burg entlang der Saale von Bad Kissingen bis Hammelburg. Erkundet die Spuren und steinernen Zeugen der über 1000-jährigen Geschichte in unserer Region. Das Routennetz hat eine Gesamtlänge von 50 km inklusive aller Rundwege. Sowohl Anfänger als auch Radelprofis können den Weg problemlos fahren. Die Höhenunterschiede zwischen den Burgen und der Talsohle auf Höhe des Flusses betragen an der höchsten Stelle 150 m und die Steigungen sind auf den gut ausgebauten Wegen einfach zu bewältigen. Ihr könnt den Weg in beide Richtungen befahren. Ganz gleich ob man von Burg Botenlauben in Bad Kissingen oder vom Schloß Saaleck bei Hammelburg aus starten möchte - durch die Infotafeln und Wegweiser entlang der Strecke fällt die Orientierung leicht. Beim Radeln durch die Saale-Auen und beim Passieren der schon im Mittelalter benutzten Zufahrtswege zu den Burgen lässt sich erahnen, wie sehr diese mächtigen Bauwerke unsere Region mitgeprägt haben.

Explorez les traces et les témoins de pierre de plus de 1000 ans d'histoire dans notre région. Le réseau de parcours a une longueur totale de 50 km, incluant tous les boucles. Tant les débutants que les cyclistes expérimentés peuvent suivre ce parcours sans problème. Les dénivelés entre les châteaux et le fond de la vallée, au niveau de la rivière, atteignent au maximum 150 m et les montées sont faciles à gérer sur les pistes bien aménagées. Vous pouvez emprunter le parcours dans les deux sens. Que vous commenciez par le château de Botenlauben à Bad Kissingen ou par le château de Saaleck près de Hammelburg, les panneaux d'information et les signalisations le long de la route facilitent l’orientation. En pédalant à travers les plaines alluviales de la Saale et en passant par les accès déjà utilisés au Moyen Âge pour rejoindre les châteaux, on se rend compte de l’influence que ces puissantes constructions ont exercée sur notre région.

The Franconian Saale Castle Bike Route leads you from castle to castle along the Saale from Bad Kissingen to Hammelburg. Explore the traces and stone witnesses of over 1,000 years of history in our region. The route network has a total length of 50 km, including all circular routes. Both beginners and cycling pros can easily manage the route. The elevation differences between the castles and the valley floor at the level of the river reach a maximum of 150 m, and the inclines are easy to handle on the well-developed paths. You can ride the route in both directions. Whether starting from Burg Botenlauben in Bad Kissingen or Saaleck Castle near Hammelburg – the information boards and signposts along the way make orientation easy. Nicht nur die geschichtsträchtigen Mauern lohnen einen Besuch. Prächtige Ausblicke belohnen den Besucher, der einen der beiden Türme der Festungsruine besteigt. Die Stadt Bad Kissingen mit den weltberühmten Kuranlagen liegt dem Betrachter zu Füßen. Der Blick schweift vom Tal der Fränkischen Saale hinauf zur hohen Rhön mit dem Kreuzberg. Auf der anderen Seite rundet der Wittelsbacher Jubiläumsturm auf dem Scheinberg eine grandiose Aussicht ab. Jeweils am 3. Wochenende im September finden die „Botenlauben-Festspiele" statt. Über 300 Personen in historischen Gewändern lassen das Mittelalter authentisch aufleben.</p> <p>Eringsburg: Die Burg des „freien" Franken Iring. Bei der Burg handelt es sich um eine der wenigen Anlagen, die uns in ihrem karolingischen Ursprung erhalten geblieben sind. Alles deutet darauf hin, dass sie einst zu der Talsiedlung, die sich ganz in der Nähe von Arnshausen befand, gehörte und als sogenannte Fliehburg diente. Es war die Zeit der Ungarneinfälle.</p> <p>822 wurde die Befestigung einmalig erwähnt, als der freie Franke Iring - wahrscheinlich auch der Erbauer der Burg - Teile seines Besitzes dem Kloster Fulda schenkte. Wie lange die Burg danach noch genutzt wurde, ist unbekannt. Heute sind die Mauerreste von der Natur erobert und wie verwunschen liegt die Anlage verborgen im Wald.</p> <p>Kirchenruine Aura: Auf einem Höhenzug über dem Dorf Aura stehen die trutzig wirkenden Reste eines Kirchenbaus. Ursprünglich sollte hier 1618 der Neubau einer Wallfahrtskirche entstehen. Doch vermutlich war es nicht nur der Geldmangel, sondern vor allem auch der Ausbruch des Dreißigjährigen Krieges, der die Fertigstellung verhinderte. Das nie vollendete Gebäude ist eine der ältesten Bauruinen Deutschlands. Man kann die Ruine nur von außen besichtigen und den Ausblick weit in das Saaletal genießen. Das Gasthaus direkt neben dem Bauwerk ist ein willkommener Rastpunkt für Radfahrer.</p> <p>Trimburg: Die eindrucksvolle Burgruine sitzt erhaben auf einem Bergsporn oberhalb von Trimberg. Einstmals gab es drei Burgen. Die alte Burg war bereits im 12. Jahrhundert Burgstall. Die Niederburg war eine Art Vorwerk der Trimburg und wurde im 30-jährigen Krieg zerstört. In der Hauptburg stehen der Erthal- und der Echterbau. Ihre Sandsteinportale verdienen besondere Beachtung. Besonders erwähnenswert ist auch die Gastfreundschaft der vielen Vereine, welche die Burg abwechselnd bewirtschaften. Große Areale wurden wieder überdacht. Weitere Räume und Säle können zu Festveranstaltungen und kulturellen Anlässen genutzt werden. Die Trimburg ist an jedem Sonntag von Anfang Mai bis Ende Oktober geöffnet.</p> <p>Schloß Saaleck: Da Schloss liegt malerisch etwa 1,5 km westlich von Hammelburg auf einem steil abfallenden Bergrücken. Seit dem 14. Jahrhundert wird die Anlage, obwohl sie der Bauweise einer Burg entspricht, „Schloß" genannt. Die Gebäude waren seit ihrer Errichtung im 111 12. Jahrhundert stets Amtsburg des Klosters Fulda. Dennoch erzählen viele Sagen von Kaisern, Königen oder edlen Burgfräulein. Am 7. Januar 777 schenkte Karl der Große sein Königsgut Hammelburg an das Kloster Fulda. In dieser Urkunde werden erstmals Weinberge im Fränkischen erwähnt, somit darf sich Hammelburg zurecht „Älteste Weinstadt Frankens" nennen.Auf Saaleck ist heute neben dem städtischen Weingut auch ein Hotel mit Restaurant untergebracht.</p> <p>Wehrkirche Diebach: Laut einer Urkunde aus dem Jahr 817 schenkte eine Frau Hadaburgis all ihren Grundbesitz „in immunitate Hamalunburc" und in „villa thiofbah" an das Kloster Fulda. Zu dieser Zeit besaß Diebach also schon ein erstes Gotteshaus. Ein größerer Kirchenbau entstand in spätromanischer Zeit um 1270. Aus dieser Epoche stammen noch der Chor und der Turm, der seit dem 18. Jahrhundert eine Barockkuppel mit offener Laterne trägt. Die alte Wehrkirche war ursprünglich an vier Seiten von Gaden in Form von zweigeschossigen Fachwerkbauten umgeben, die als Keller und Speicherräume genutzt wurden. Das Diebacher Ensemble, das zwischenzeitlich unter Denkmalschutz gestellt wurde, vermittelt noch heute ein eindrucksvolles Bild einer mittelalterlichen Kirchenbefestigung.</p>

On ne sait pas combien de temps le château a été utilisé après cela. Aujourd'hui, les vestiges de murs sont envahis par la nature et l'ensemble est discrètement caché dans la forêt, comme enchanté.</p> <p>Ruines de l'église d'Aura : Sur une crête au-dessus du village d'Aura se dressent les restes imposants d'un édifice religieux. À l'origine, un nouveau sanctuaire de pèlerinage devait être construit ici en 1618. Mais ce n'était probablement pas seulement le manque d'argent, mais surtout le déclenchement de la guerre de Trente Ans qui empêcha l'achèvement. Ce bâtiment jamais achevé est l'une des ruines les plus anciennes d'Allemagne. On peut visiter la ruine uniquement de l'extérieur et profiter de la vue étendue sur la vallée de la Saale. L'auberge juste à côté de l'édifice est un point de repos bienvenu pour les cyclistes.</p> <p>Trimburg : La ruine impressionnante du château domine fièrement un promontoire au-dessus de Trimberg. Autrefois, il y avait trois châteaux. L'ancien château était déjà un site abandonné au 12e siècle. Le château inférieur était une sorte d'avant-poste de Trimburg et fut détruit pendant la guerre de Trente Ans. Dans le château principal se trouvent les bâtiments Erthal et Echter. Leurs portails en grès méritent une attention particulière. Mention spéciale aussi pour l'hospitalité des nombreuses associations qui gèrent le château à tour de rôle. De vastes zones ont été de nouveau couvertes. D'autres pièces et salles peuvent être utilisées pour des événements festifs et culturels. La Trimburg est ouverte tous les dimanches de début mai à fin octobre.</p> <p>Château de Saaleck : Le château est situé pittoresquement à environ 1,5 km à l'ouest de Hammelburg, sur une crête escarpée. Depuis le 14e siècle, bien que sa construction ressemble à un château fort, il est appelé "château". Bei der Burg handelt es sich um eine der wenigen Anlagen, die uns in ihrem karolingischen Ursprung erhalten geblieben sind. Alles deutet darauf hin, dass sie einst zu der Talsiedlung, die sich ganz in der Nähe von Arnshausen befand, gehörte und als sogenannte Fliehburg diente. Es war die Zeit der Ungarneinfälle. 822 wurde die Befestigung einmalig erwähnt, als der freie Franke Iring - wahrscheinlich auch der Erbauer der Burg - Teile seines Besitzes dem Kloster Fulda schenkte. Wie lange die Burg danach noch genutzt wurde, ist unbekannt. Heute sind die Mauerreste von der Natur erobert und wie verwunschen liegt die Anlage verborgen im Wald. Kirchenruine Aura: Auf einem Höhenzug über dem Dorf Aura stehen die trutzig wirkenden Reste eines Kirchenbaus. Ursprünglich sollte hier 1618 der Neubau einer Wallfahrtskirche entstehen. Doch vermutlich war es nicht nur der Geldmangel, sondern vor allem auch der Ausbruch des Dreißigjährigen Krieges, der die Fertigstellung verhinderte. Das nie vollendete Gebäude ist eine der ältesten Bauruinen Deutschlands. Man kann die Ruine nur von außen besichtigen und den Ausblick weit in das Saaletal genießen. Das Gasthaus direkt neben dem Bauwerk ist ein willkommener Rastpunkt für Radfahrer. Trimburg: Die eindrucksvolle Burgruine sitzt erhaben auf einem Bergsporn oberhalb von Trimberg. Einstmals gab es drei Burgen. Die alte Burg war bereits im 12. Jahrhundert Burgstall. Die Niederburg war eine Art Vorwerk der Trimburg und wurde im 30-jährigen Krieg zerstört. In der Hauptburg stehen der Erthal- und der Echterbau. Ihre Sandsteinportale verdienen besondere Beachtung. Besonders erwähnenswert ist auch die Gastfreundschaft der vielen Vereine, welche die Burg abwechselnd bewirtschaften. Große Areale wurden wieder überdacht. Dennoch erzählen viele Sagen von Kaisern, Königen oder edlen Burgfräulein. Am 7. Januar 777 schenkte Karl der Große sein Königsgut Hammelburg an das Kloster Fulda. In dieser Urkunde werden erstmals Weinberge im Fränkischen erwähnt, somit darf sich Hammelburg zurecht „Älteste Weinstadt Frankens" nennen.Auf Saaleck ist heute neben dem städtischen Weingut auch ein Hotel mit Restaurant untergebracht.
