Der Rundwanderweg 1 führt Sie vom Wanderparkplatz im Jenaer Forst durch ein kurzes Waldstück ins Offenland mit Biotopteichen, sogenannten Himmelsteichen. Diese Teiche wurden im Zuge einer Ausgleichsmaßnahme vom Thüringer Landesamt für Bau und Verkehr angelegt, sie werden nur von Regenwasser gespeist. Hier lassen sich im Sommer viele Insekten, Vögel und Amphibien beobachten. Weiter führt der Rundweg über den Ernst-Haeckel-Stein, ein Gedenkstein zu Ehren des Naturforschers und Philosophs Ernst Haeckel. Von dort bietet sich ein grandioser Blick auf die Höhenzüge von Coppanz, den Cospoth, Winzerla und Lobeda. Über einen Wiesenweg und dann über einen befestigten Forstweg geht es in nördliche Richtung zum Otto-Schott-Platz, zum Naturerlebniszentrum. Nun sind es nur noch wenige Meter zurück zum Parkplatz, dem Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung.

Circular hiking route 1 takes you from the hiking car park in the Jena Forest through a short woodland area into open land with biotope ponds, so-called Himmelsteiche. These ponds were created as part of a compensation measure by the Thuringian State Office for Construction and Transport and are only fed by rainwater. In summer, many insects, birds, and amphibians can be observed here. The circular route then leads over the Ernst-Haeckel-Stone, a memorial stone in honor of the naturalist and philosopher Ernst Haeckel. From there, there is a magnificent view of the hill ranges of Coppanz, Cospoth, Winzerla, and Lobeda. Via a meadow path and then a paved forestry road, the route goes northwards to Otto-Schott-Platz, the nature experience center. Now it is only a few meters back to the parking lot, the starting point of the hike.

Le parcours circulaire n°1 vous mène du parking forestier dans la forêt de Jena à travers une petite zone boisée vers une zone ouverte avec des étangs biotopes, appelés étangs célestes. Ces étangs ont été créés dans le cadre d'une mesure compensatoire par l'Office régional de Thuringe pour la construction et la circulation, ils sont uniquement alimentés par l'eau de pluie. En été, on peut y observer de nombreux insectes, oiseaux et amphibiens. Le parcours continue ensuite par la pierre Ernst-Haeckel, une pierre commémorative en l'honneur du naturaliste et philosophe Ernst Haeckel. De là, la vue est magnifique sur les chaînes de collines de Coppanz, Cospoth, Winzerla et Lobeda. Ensuite, un chemin herbeux et un chemin forestier stabilisé mènent vers le nord jusqu'à la place Otto-Schott, le centre d'expérience de la nature. Il ne reste alors que quelques mètres pour revenir au parking, point de départ de la randonnée.
