Die leicht zu befahrende Loipe eignet sich wunderbar für Anfänger. Entlang des Rhöner Winterwaldes verläuft der Weg in Teilen parallel zum Rhöner Franziskusweg. Neben Baumreihen auf der einen und freier Landschaft auf der anderen Seite geht es vorbei an der Wüstung Altenfeld bis zum Rhön-Park-Hotel. Nach dem Rundstück entlang der offenen Winterlandschaft unterhalb der Rother Kuppe führt uns der bekannte Weg zurück zum Ausgangspunkt. Einkehrmöglichkeiten zur Stärkung und zum Aufwärmen bieten sich in der Thüringer Hütte sowie im Berggasthof Rother Kuppe.

La piste facile à parcourir convient parfaitement aux débutants. Le chemin, le long de la forêt d’hiver de la Rhön, suit en partie le parcours Saint-François de la Rhön. Entre rangées d’arbres d’un côté et paysage ouvert de l’autre, il passe par l’ancienne colonie d'Altenfeld jusqu’à l’ hôtel Rhön-Park. Après le tour le long du paysage d’hiver ouvert sous la Rother Kuppe, le chemin bien connu ramène au point de départ. Des possibilités de restauration et de réchauffement sont offertes à la cabane Thüringer ainsi qu’au restaurant d’altitude Rother Kuppe.

The easy-to-ride trail is ideal for beginners. Along the Rhön winter forest, the path runs partly parallel to the Rhön Francis Path. Passing tree rows on one side and open landscape on the other, it leads past the Altenfeld settlement ruin to the Rhön Park Hotel. After the loop past the open winter landscape below the Rother Kuppe, the familiar path leads us back to the starting point. Places to stop for refreshment and warming up are available at the Thüringer Hütte as well as at the Berggasthof Rother Kuppe.

In der Rhön soll deshalb nur auf dafür ausgewiesenen Wegen und Flächen Natursport bei Tageslicht betrieben werden.
